Work From Home: In his recent Hyderabad address, PM Modi has asked to give preference to work from home. After which there is an atmosphere of happiness among all the employees. Although the PM has only appealed to the companies, it has not been implemented. But still now the employees of the I sector are demanding re-implementation of work from home.

Demand for work from home
In fact, according to the Economic Times, India’s IT employees’ organization, Nascent Information Technology Employee Senate (NITES), has written a letter to Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya demanding that wherever possible, Work from Home (WFH) should be implemented in the IT and ITES sector.

Also read: Gold Prices: Same gold, then why different prices in every country, these are the reasons for low gold rates in foreign countries.

It is written in the letter…
NITES has written this letter on 11 May 2026 in which it has made this demand from the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment in the interest of the country. He has written in it that wherever possible, work from home (WFH) should be implemented for some time in the sectors related to IT and digital services. It has also been written in this letter that during the Covid-19 pandemic, India’s IT and ITES sector had proved that working from home on a large scale is possible and it does not have any major impact on work or productivity.

Not only this, according to the organization, during the pandemic, most of the IT companies had successfully given the facility to the employees to work from home. With the help of cloud systems, cyber security tools, digital platforms and virtual management systems, the work of companies continued normally. This proves that work from home is a completely practical, technically possible and long-term option for many technology related positions.

Also read: Gold News: Mini-RBI of Indian homes! What percent of the world’s gold do Indian women own?

The organization explained the problems of the employees
In this letter, while explaining its problems, the organization has also written that the daily commuting of employees to office is also a matter of concern. Millions of employees spend several hours every day traveling, even though their work can be done from home. Non-essential office travel increases fuel consumption, increases traffic jams, puts pressure on public transport and also harms the environment. Besides, it also affects the physical and mental health of the employees. The organization said that wherever possible, adopting remote work can help in fuel saving efforts in the country and work will also not be affected.

Complaint Against Wipro: NITES, an organization of Information Technology (IT) sector employees, on Monday gave a written complaint to Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, accusing Wipro Limited of not hiring more than 250 newly selected employees even after several months. According to NITES, these candidates were selected under the ‘Turbo’ and ‘NextGen Talent Hiring’ programs run by Wipro in various states of the country and were issued letters of intent with information related to the post, salary and joining process in May 2025.

Not called despite selection

In many cases, the company also sent formal onboarding emails mentioning the joining date, workplace and documentation process, but despite completing all the terms and background verification, the candidates were not called for work on time.

The organization says candidates were left with prolonged uncertainty, generic answers and changing explanations, while many were unable to pursue other job opportunities due to campus placement rules and some turned down second job offers.

complaint against wipro

According to NITES, due to lack of clear response from the company, many candidates remained unemployed for six to eight months, which has increased financial pressure and mental stress on them. The organization has demanded the intervention of the Central Government to seek reply from Wipro and to give written information to all the affected candidates along with the clear date and reason of joining.

Additionally, the organization warned that if action is not taken in this matter, such practices could become common in the IT industry, causing long-term harm to India’s young workforce.

TCS Layoffs: The news of the trithan in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which is among India’s largest IT service companies, is making headlines these days. The union quoting the union reported that in recent weeks, the company forced about 2,500 employees to resign in its Pune campus. Regarding this, the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, which has given information about the employees being taken out of work in the wrong way.

Flood of complaints on social media also

NITES chairman Harpreet Singh Saluja said, “The sudden loss of employment has created an atmosphere of fear, anxiety and despair among the IT employees in Maharashtra.” Prior to NITES, many former TCS employees have also complained about this on social media.

This shows that the number of employees affected by this retrenchment happening in the company can be even more. Earlier this year, TCS announced a cut of about 2 percent in its workforce at global level. It was told that it is a part of the company’s restructuring plan to prepare itself for the coming time.

Union demands investigation

NITES especially mentioned the problems of the employees whose age is above 40. EMI is the burden of children’s school fees, family responsibilities. Union says, keeping in mind the security of the job, the employees who had made their future plan have now become desperate. Children’s education is in danger, loans cannot be repaid, the family is facing financial crisis. The union has urged the Maharashtra government to allegedly investigate dismissal, implement the rights of employees under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, prevent further retrenchment and make TCS management accountable.
