America’s President Donald Trump’s anger over not getting the Nobel Prize is now coming out openly. The US President has sent a threatening message to Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store. In this letter, Trump said that he has not been given the Nobel Prize, so peace is no longer a priority for him.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Storey confirmed on Monday (January 19, 2026) that he had received a message from US President Donald Trump, in which he said that he is not bound to peace after not receiving the Nobel Prize.

America should be handed over to America: Trump

Trump has asked Norway to ask Denmark to hand over Greenland to America. In a letter to Norway’s PM, Trump said, ‘Since your country has decided not to honor me with the Nobel Peace Prize for preventing eight wars, I no longer need to think only about peace. Although peace will always remain paramount, now I can think about what is good and right for the United States of America.

Denmark can’t protect Greenland: Trump

Donald Trump said, ‘Denmark cannot protect that land (Greenland) from Russia or China. Anyway, Denmark does not have any written document, so how does it have ownership rights. It’s just that hundreds of years ago a ship had landed there, but our ships also used to land there. This is not the first time that Trump has targeted Norway for not awarding the Nobel Prize. However, the most important thing is that the Nobel Prize is not decided by the Norwegian government, but by an independent committee based in Oslo.

What did the Norwegian PM say?

The Prime Minister of Norway confirmed Trump’s message to the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten. Jonas Gahr Storey said, ‘I received President Trump’s message on January 18, 2026. This message comes in response to a brief message sent earlier in the day by me and Finland’s President Alexander Stubb. According to Jonas Gahr, he, along with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, had sent a letter to Trump. In this, there was opposition to the imposition of tariffs on Finland, Norway and many other countries.

Trump called himself a better candidate for the peace prize

The entire attention of the US President is currently focused on Greenland and he wants to achieve it at any cost for America. Trump repeatedly claimed to stop the war and described himself as the best candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. Last year’s award was given to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado. Machado later presented his award to Trump.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has handed over her Nobel Peace Prize medal to US President Donald Trump. This meeting took place in the White House, after which the question began to arise at the international level whether a Nobel winner can give his prize to someone else. Meanwhile, the Nobel Institute has given information about the rules in clear words.

What does the Nobel Peace Prize medal look like?
The Nobel Peace Prize medal is 6.6 centimeters in diameter and weighs 196 grams. It is made of gold. On one side of the medal there is a picture of Alfred Nobel, while on the other side three men are seen with their hands on each other’s shoulders, which is a symbol of brotherhood. There has been no change in this design for the last 120 years.

Has anyone given Nobel Medal to someone else before?
This is not the first time that a Nobel Peace Prize medal has been given to someone else. A famous example is that of Russian journalist Dmitry Muratov, who auctioned his Nobel Medal. That auction raised more than $100 million, which was used to help refugees from the Ukrainian war. Additionally, the medal of Norway’s first Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Christian Loos Lange, is still on display at the Nobel Peace Centre, but is only on loan.

Nobel Institute clarified the rules
The Nobel Institute and the Norwegian Nobel Committee have clearly stated that ‘once the Nobel Prize is declared, it can neither be taken back, nor divided with anyone, nor can it be transferred to anyone else. This decision is final forever. The institute also said that the owner of the medal can be changed, but the identity of the Nobel Peace Prize winner never changes.

It measures 6.6 cm in diameter, weighs 196 grams and is struck in gold. On its face, a portrait of Alfred Nobel and on its reverse, three naked men holding around each other’s shoulders as a sign of brotherhood. A design unchanged for 120 years.

Medal handed over to Trump in the White House
Maria Corina Machado handed her Nobel Peace Prize medal to Donald Trump during the meeting at the White House. This is being seen as a big political initiative of Machado, because recently Trump had not given him open support for ruling Venezuela.

What did Trump say after receiving the medal?
After the meeting, Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social, ‘He gave me his Nobel Peace Prize medal, it is a great honor for me.’ Trump praised Machado, calling her a ‘very good woman’ and saying that she has faced a lot of difficulties in her life.

Can Machado give up her Nobel Prize?
According to the Nobel Institute, Machado cannot give her Nobel Prize to anyone else. That means this step is only symbolic. Despite this, this matter is in discussion, because Trump has been expressing his desire to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for a long time. A White House official said that Trump can keep this medal with himself.

US President Donald Trump finally received the Nobel Peace Prize medal from Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado. Machado handed over this medal to Trump during the meeting at the White House. This is being considered a big political effort by Machado, because recently Trump had not openly supported him regarding the rule of Venezuela.

What did Trump say after receiving the medal?
After meeting at the White House, Trump praised Machado profusely. He wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, ‘He gave me his Nobel Peace Prize medal, it is a great honor for me.’ Trump described Machado as a ‘very good woman’ and said that she has suffered a lot in life.

Can Machado give up her Nobel Prize?
The Nobel Institute has made it clear that Machado cannot give her Nobel Prize to anyone else. That means giving this medal is just a symbolic step. Despite this, this step is being considered special because Trump has sidelined Machado in Venezuelan politics in recent times. A White House official said that Trump could keep this medal with himself. It is noteworthy that Trump has been expressing his desire to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for a long time.

What did Machado say?
After leaving the White House, Machado told reporters, ‘I have given the Nobel Peace Prize medal to the President of America. This is a recognition of his special contribution to our freedom. After this she left for Parliament House, Capitol Hill.

Questions regarding elections in Venezuela
In recent days, Trump has raised questions on his stance regarding democracy in Venezuela. He also did not tell when the elections would be held there. Trump says that it will be difficult for Machado to lead the country, because he does not have full support within the country.

Even after Maduro, Machado gets a shock
Machado’s party is believed to have won the 2024 elections, but Nicolas Maduro has refused to accept the results. Despite this, Trump has indicated that he is ready to work with acting President Delsey Rodriguez, who has been close to Maduro.

Machado met supporters
After the closed-door meeting, Machado met her supporters outside the White House. He hugged many people. He said, ‘We can trust President Trump.’
On this some supporters raised slogans of ‘Thank you Trump’.

Machado seen after a long time
Machado was not seen in public before coming to Washington. Last month she went to Norway, where her daughter received the Nobel Peace Prize on her behalf. Before this, Machado was living in hiding in Venezuela for about 11 months.

US President Donald Trump met Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado at the White House on Thursday. During this, Machado presented his Nobel Peace Prize medal to Trump. The White House confirmed the meeting, but also made it clear that this should not be considered a major change in Trump’s stance.

What did the White House say
White House press secretary Carolyn Levitt described Machado as a “brave and strong voice” for the Venezuelan people. He said that President Trump was positive about this meeting. However, when asked if Trump now considered Machado the leader of Venezuela, Leavitt said the president still held the same opinion. According to him, Trump believes that in the current situation, Machado does not have enough support within the country.

Trump’s stance on elections
Levitt said that President Trump wants fair elections to be held in Venezuela in the future. But he did not tell when these elections could be held. After the meeting, Machado told the media that he had given the Nobel Peace Prize medal to Trump. He described it as ‘recognition of his special support for our freedom’.

meeting supporters
After leaving the White House, Machado met his supporters standing outside. He said, ‘We can trust President Trump.’ On this the supporters raised slogans of ‘Thank You Trump’.

The atmosphere changed after Maduro’s arrest
This meeting took place at a time when two weeks ago the US Army had captured former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores from Caracas and sent them to New York. Both are accused of drug smuggling. Machado’s coalition claims to have won the 2024 presidential election, but Maduro has refused to accept the results.

Trump’s contradictory stance
Although Trump met Machado, he has previously raised questions about his leadership abilities. Trump has also indicated that he is willing to work with current acting President Delsey Rodriguez. Rodriguez has been a former Vice President and is currently looking after the day-to-day work of the government.

US–Venezuela relations
America is currently increasing pressure on Venezuela’s oil sector. Recently a banned oil tanker was seized. American officials say that Rodriguez’s interim government is cooperating with the US. Under this, five American citizens were released this week.

Conversation between Trump and Rodriguez
Trump said on Wednesday that he had a long conversation with Rodriguez. He said, ‘We talked about many issues and I think the relations between America and Venezuela are going in the right direction.’

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Economic Sciences Prize in Memory of Alfred Nobel for 2025 to Joel Mokyr (US), Peter Howitt (US), and Philip Aghion (UK). All three have been honored for ‘explaining innovation-based economic growth’. Joel is associated with Northwestern University of America, Philip is associated with The London School of Economic and Political Science in England and Peter is associated with Brown University of America.

Prize money will be distributed
According to the Nobel Prize Organization, half of the prize will be awarded to Joel Mokyr for identifying the conditions necessary for sustainable development through technological progress and the other half jointly to Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt for the theory of sustainable development through creative destruction. Mokyr used historical sources as a means to uncover the reasons why sustainable development has become the new normal.

Aghion and Howitt also studied the mechanisms behind continued evolution. In a 1992 article, he created a mathematical model called creative destruction and explained that when a new and improved product enters the market, companies selling the old product stand at a loss. New products and methods of production continue to replace old methods, and this process never ends. This is the basis for sustained economic growth, which improves the quality of life, health and standards of living of people around the world.

Who gets this award?
This award is given to those economists whose research has made a major contribution to understanding the economy and solving its problems. It is called the Nobel Prize in Economics, but it was not technically one of the original five prizes in Nobel’s will, but was established by the Swedish Central Bank in 1969. It selects the winners of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences Awards.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has received the Nobel Peace Prize for 2025. US President Donald Trump was also considered a big contender in this race, but due to Trump’s defeat, the biggest loss has not only been caused to his image but also to the diplomacy of Pakistan which had openly bet on Trump this year.

Pakistan had placed a big bet on Trump
This year, Pakistan formally nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, calling him a ‘supporter of peace’. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir went to Washington in August and met Trump at the White House. The Pakistan government described this meeting as a new chapter in US-Pakistan relations and publicized it extensively through press releases and photographs, but with Trump’s defeat, Pakistan’s efforts backfired diplomatically.

Didn’t get Nobel, Pakistan’s plan went waste
Pakistan had tried to show that India-Pakistan tension had reduced due to its cooperation by calling Trump a ‘symbol of peace’, but the Nobel Committee ignored Trump and honored Machado, which weakened Pakistan’s argument. India had already rejected Trump’s claims of mediation. The Indian Army had said that the ceasefire was achieved by direct agreement between the two countries and not by the role of any third country.

Hopes of economic partnership also dim
Pakistan had pinned hopes on partnership with the Trump administration in the field of oil and minerals. Trump had mentioned Pakistan’s ‘huge oil reserves’ and said that in future Pakistan can also sell oil to India. But in reality Pakistan has only 0.02% of the world’s total oil reserves. Both Trump’s claims and Pakistan’s expectations were far from reality.

Distance from Beijing, trust in Washington
By nominating Trump for Nobel and openly supporting him, Pakistan had tried to distance itself from Beijing and show inclination towards America. This step was considered a major change in Pakistan’s foreign policy, but after Trump’s defeat, this strategy has not only weakened, but Pakistan is now also facing diplomatic embarrassment.

Venezuela’s leading opposition leader Maria Corina Machado was announced to be awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday (October 10, 2025). Machado is known as the ‘Iron Lady’ in Venezuela for her contribution in strengthening democratic rights. He won this award by defeating US President Donald Trump. Machado has spent 20 years promoting democratic rights and peaceful struggle against dictatorship in Venezuela. The Nobel Committee honored his courage and continuous efforts for democracy.

Democracy and struggle against dictatorship
The Nobel Committee said that today when dictatorship is increasing in many parts of the world and democracy has weakened, the courage of leaders like Machado is like a flame of hope. He received this award for his tireless struggle for democracy and fight against dictatorship in Venezuela.

Life in secret and arrest
Machado has been living underground in the country for a long time due to pressure from the Maduro government. He was last seen in public during protests in Caracas in January this year. After this the Maduro government arrested him, but due to international pressure he was soon released. Even now she has not been seen in public and is in a safe place for her work. Machado lives with her eldest daughter in her large family, while her two other children and husband are abroad. He has said that he did not feel the warmth of the sun for a long time.

Political conflict and electoral challenge
Machado had become a presidential candidate in 2023 by winning the opposition primaries, but the Supreme Court disqualified her. He supported Edmundo Gonzalez, who the opposition claims had won the 2024 election, but Maduro rigged the election.

Education and career
Maria Corina Machado is a Venezuelan opposition leader and engineer. He was born on 7 October 1967 in Caracas. He earned a degree in electrical engineering and worked on poverty alleviation in the 1990s. She was included in Times Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025, where she was called the ‘Iron Lady’ of Venezuela. This award was given to Machado for his efforts to promote democratic rights and combat dictatorship. According to the Nobel Committee, his courage and leadership kept hope for democracy in Venezuela alive.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday (October 9, 2025) openly advocated awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump through a dramatic and digital vote of confidence. This statement of the Israeli Prime Minister came just hours after the announcement of the first phase of the historic Israel-Hamas peace agreement.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu shared an AI-generated photo from his official X account on Thursday (October 9, 2025). In the caption of the post, Netanyahu appealed to the Norwegian committee, saying, ‘Give Donald Trump the Nobel Peace Prize. He deserves it!’ Also added a gold medal emoji at the end of the caption.

In the AI generated photo shared by Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump is shown wearing the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize medal around his neck. In this picture, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also standing with Trump and flags of Israel and America are waving nearby. There is applause and confetti is raining all around. At the same time, Trump is seen celebrating wearing the Nobel Peace Prize medal. There is a banner in the backdrop of this picture, which reads, ‘Peace Through Strength.’

Donald Trump’s Nobel Mission

This post of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has come a day before the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday (October 10, 2025). It is also well known how desperate American President Donald Trump is to receive this prestigious Nobel Peace Prize. This rashness of Trump started with a funny statement given in the year 2018, which has now taken the form of a serious diplomatic campaign.

Families of Gaza war hostages appeal to honor Trump

At the same time, the agreement between Israel and the Palestinian militant organization Hamas on the first phase of the proposed Gaza peace agreement has further intensified the demand for awarding Donald Trump. This agreement also includes ceasefire and release of Israeli hostages. After this agreement from both sides, the families of the hostages have publicly appealed to the Nobel Committee to honor Trump with the prestigious award. The families of the hostages said that Trump was the person who showed them the light of hope in the darkest times. At the same time, capitalizing on this opportunity, the White House also gave Trump the new title of ‘The Peace President’ on social media.
