Hindi cinema actor Anupam Kher shared a video and said that he is shooting at the same place where Shahrukh Khan-Kajol’s famous train scene in the 1995 blockbuster film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ was shot. He said that standing there it felt as if time had stopped for a while.

Remembered the iconic scene of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’

Anupam, who played the role of Dharamvir Malhotra, father of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, in Aditya Chopra’s film, shared a video of himself from the spot.

In the video shared by Anupam Kher, it can be heard that ‘I have come to a railway station. An iconic scene from an iconic film was shot here 36 years ago. It is recorded in the history of Indian cinema that every Indian across the world must have seen that scene and remember it.

Recalling the scene, Anupam Kher said, ‘This scene is from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Simran runs. Amrish Puri says, go Simran, live your life. And Simran runs from here, and the train is there. Shahrukh is there and then he extends his hand. Simran runs wearing the lehenga and enters it. These are iconic places and yes, all the memories of our good times with the Chopra family came back together. We had a great time.

Anupam then thanked late Yash Chopra and his son Aditya for making him a part of the iconic film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

Anupam Kher wrote on social media that iconic location of DDLJ: shooting at the same place after 36 years was a very emotional and nostalgic experience. Where we shot the iconic scene of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge with Raj and Simran. It didn’t seem as if so many years had passed.

He wrote that while shooting at that time, he had never imagined that that scene of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol would be included in the most memorable moments of Indian cinema. But perhaps this is also the beauty of life. You realize the greatness of that moment much later.
