A new controversy has come to light regarding UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026. NSUI has alleged that many of the questions asked in the examination appeared to be similar to the study material already available in a coaching institute. The organization has sought official clarification from UPSC on this matter and has demanded an impartial inquiry into the entire process. After this issue came to light, a new discussion has started regarding the transparency of competitive examinations.

what is the whole matter

According to NSUI, some of the questions included in the preliminary exam appeared to match the study notes of a coaching institute to a great extent. The organization claims that similarity has been seen in a total of 82 such questions. On this basis, the organization has raised questions about the examination process and said that there should be an independent review of the matter. Although this claim has not been officially confirmed yet, but after the allegations came to light, this issue has become increasingly discussed. Debate on this topic is also being seen on social media and in groups preparing for competitive exams.

NSUI raised demand for investigation

The student organization says that the matter should be taken seriously and an impartial investigation should be conducted. The organization believes that if there has been any irregularity at any level, then it is necessary to clarify it publicly so that the credibility of the examination system is maintained. NSUI also said that in such cases, it is necessary to give timely response and adopt a transparent process, so that there is no confusion among the students.

Also read – After the release of NEET UG re-exam admit card, students should pay special attention to these things, read important instructions before the exam.

Increased discussion among the candidates
Lakhs of candidates from across the country appear in the UPSC exam every year and it is counted among the most prestigious competitive exams in the country. After such allegations have come to light, the discussion among the candidates has intensified. Many candidates are now waiting for the Commission’s official response and possible steps. Some students believe that in such cases, clear information should be released soon so that the credibility of the examination is not affected and the questions arising in the minds of the candidates can be resolved.

Debate started again on transparency of examination
Maintaining transparency and trust in competitive examinations is considered very important. The questions arising regarding any examination are directly related to the preparation and future of lakhs of candidates. Therefore, in such cases, investigation based on facts and official information is considered important.

Awaiting the Commission’s response
At present, no detailed public statement has come out from UPSC regarding this matter. In the coming time, the reaction of the Commission and the possible investigation process can decide the direction of this entire controversy. At present, the eyes of the candidates and the education world are on the upcoming official updates.

A big controversy has arisen regarding the new digital evaluation system OSM of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Following complaints from students and parents, student organization NSUI has filed a PIL in the Delhi High Court. It has been alleged in the petition that there have been many technical and evaluation related irregularities in this system, which have had a direct impact on the results of lakhs of students. Considering the seriousness of the matter, Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Central Government and CBSE and sought their reply.

Serious questions raised on OSM system

The petition said that CBSE had implemented the on-screen marking system for scanning and digital evaluation of answer sheets for the first time this year. But after the results were released, students from all over the country lodged complaints that there were many errors in their answer sheets. These included problems like blurry scanned copy, missing of some pages, incomplete uploading and wrong matching of answers. Students say that due to these technical glitches their marks have been affected.

NSUI claims confidence of lakhs of students broken

NSUI has argued in the court that immediately after the results were declared, a large number of students asked for a copy of their scanned answer sheets. The organization says that this is not just a general complaint, but reflects a major decline in students’ trust in the entire evaluation system. NSUI also said that the existing grievance redressal process is weak and students are not getting adequate opportunity for physical verification or independent re-checking of their answer sheets.

CBSE’s objection and reply

During the hearing, CBSE raised objections to the petition. The board’s counsel said that NSUI is a student group associated with a political organization and this issue should not be given a political color. CBSE says that the grievances of the students are being resolved through the portal and it cannot be kept open indefinitely. The board also said that the digital system has been implemented for transparency and speed.

Also read – CBSE’s new re-evaluation portal ready after IIT panel’s green signal, students will get secure system

Major demands of NSUI

In the petition, NSUI has made many important demands, which include reopening of the answer sheet verification portal for at least one month. Also, in the cases where there is dispute, a demand has been made to allow manual re-checking and physical verification. The organization has also appealed to conduct an independent investigation under the supervision of the Central Government and make clear rules for digital assessment in future.

Concern over students’ future
It has also been said in the petition that delays or mistakes in the examination results have a direct impact on the admission of students. The admission process in colleges and universities is timely, and students may suffer losses if marks are improved later. Therefore, a serious investigation into this entire matter is necessary.

Next hearing in High Court
Delhi High Court has issued notice to the Central Government and CBSE in this matter and asked them to file their reply. Now the next hearing of this case will be on June 12. In this hearing, it can be decided whether there will be an independent investigation of the OSM system or not and what stance the court takes on the demands of the students.

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is in the news these days for his new film ‘I will be back’. Meanwhile, recently while remembering his college days, he made such a revelation which will shock everyone. He told that a political party had picked him up from the hostel at 2 o’clock in the night and taken him to a government quarter.

Controversy started over political poster

In a conversation with Unfiltered with Samdish, Imtiaz told that he was graduating from Hindu College in 1993. Then this incident happened with him. He said, ‘At that time there was competition between NSUI and ABVP in the university. One day someone put a poster on the front wall of my hostel. Then I asked him to put the poster on the side wall. But he deliberately put the poster in front. Then I removed that poster in front of him and put it on the side wall. After this he left from there.

Came to pick me up from hostel at 2 o’clock

He further said, ‘After a few days, at around 2 o’clock in the night, a friend from one of my hostels told me to run away, they are coming looking for you. After some time they came and asked me to come with them. I asked where to go, but he did not answer. He took me in a cycle rickshaw and took me with him to a government quarter. There was a gang leader associated with a political party, who asked about the poster.

Gang leader slaps his man

After this he told the gang leader, ‘I did not tear the poster, I had put it on the side wall. When the gang leader asked one of his men whether I had torn the poster? So he said that removing and tearing are the same thing. On hearing this, the gang leader said angrily, ‘You told me that he had torn the poster and now you are saying that he had just removed it.’ Then the gang leader slapped his own man twice for lying. Meanwhile the matter calmed down and I left from there.

CBSE OSM Controversy: NSUI organized a big protest in the capital Delhi against the OSM policy of CBSE. Hundreds of workers took part in the march from Indira Bhawan to Shiksha Sadan and raised slogans of “We Reject OSM” and demanded immediate withdrawal of the policy. The protesters allege that the new system is increasing confusion and mental pressure among the students.

NSUI workers tried to raise the voice of the students by taking out a march from Indira Bhawan to CBSE headquarters Shiksha Sadan. During the demonstration, a large number of police forces remained deployed outside the CBSE office. Despite this, the workers protested peacefully and reiterated their demand for withdrawal of the OSM policy.

Accused of increasing mental pressure on students

Activists involved in the protest said that the OSM system is creating confusion among lakhs of students and parents. They allege that this policy is increasing confusion regarding the examination system and putting unnecessary mental pressure on the students.

Jakhar said- experiments with the future of students should be stopped

NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar said that CBSE should not do any kind of experiment with the future of the students. Describing the OSM system as completely anti-student, he said that it has created a situation of anxiety and confusion among students and parents across the country. He said that students want a transparent and student-friendly examination system, not a system that increases mental stress. NSUI completely rejects this policy and demands its immediate withdrawal. Vinod Jakhar warned that if CBSE does not take the concerns of the students seriously, NSUI will further intensify its agitation at the national level in the coming days.

The posts of Joint Secretary and Treasurer went to ABVP, while the post of Vice President was won by an independent candidate.

Interviews are being conducted today in Delhi for the National President of NSUI, the student wing of the Indian National Congress Party. Before this, a panel of 6-8 names was prepared for the interview. But the name of Reelbaaz leader Nirmal Chaudhary has been excluded from this list. Nirmal Chaudhary is considered to be of Sachin Pilot group. Discussions have intensified after Nirmal’s name was left out of the panel.

Vinod Jakhar’s name from Rajasthan has been included in the panel in the interview that is going to be held for the National President of NSUI in Delhi. Vinod Jakhar is currently the state president of NSUI Rajasthan. Vinod Jakhar has joined the panel before also, but last time he was not selected as the national president.

Nirmal Chaudhary is considered to be of Sachin Pilot group

On the other hand, Nirmal Choudhary was also trying to become the national president of NSUI, but his name was not even included in the panel, hence political battle is being said to be the reason behind ignoring him. It is being told that Nirmal Chaudhary is considered to be of Sachin Pilot group, hence there is talk of rift between Nirmal Chaudhary and an MLA of the Pilot group.

The enmity with the MLA became heavy!

Sources associated with NSUI say that enmity with these MLAs proved costly for Nirmal Chaudhary. Besides, a big reason is also being said that despite being in Congress, Nirmal Chaudhary is in contact with people associated with BJP. NSUI workers took the complaint to Delhi. For these reasons, Nirmal Chaudhary was not included in the interview panel of the National President of NSUI.

Nirmal Chaudhary is often in the news for his reel betting. His reels go viral on social media, whether it is about his attitude or his statements. But, there is talk inside that Nirmal Choudhary has found his reeling costly.

The University Grants Commission (UGC), which controls the higher education system across the country, has come up with new guidelines for the year 2026. Protests have started in many states of the country regarding some important changes made in UGC-2026. Anger is being seen among students and social organizations regarding this in other states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh.

These rules of UGC will be applicable to the students taking admission in graduation after 12th. Till now, in the special provisions made for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) students, for the first time the OBC category has also been included in the ambit of the new strict rules.

Allegation of discrimination against general category

Allegations of discrimination against gold (General) category students are being made regarding two major changes in UGC-2026. Opponents say that just because they belong to the general category, the students will be considered guilty and due to strict legal provisions, they may also get trapped in false cases.

Opinion of academics, confusion is being spread

Senior educationist of Jodhpur, Prof. Dr. Kshitij Maharshi said that “Everyone has the right to protest in a democracy, but confusion is being spread regarding UGC-2026.” He further said, “This guideline has been brought after studying the data of the last five years across the country. If there is a need for change in it in future, then the central government can amend it.”

Opposition of Marwar Rajput Mahasabha

Marwar Rajput Mahasabha President Hanuman Singh Khangata termed UGC-2026 as completely wrong and said, “The gold society is being suppressed in this rule. If there is no change soon, we will protest.” He said, “Being a general is not a crime, but this law can implicate us in false cases.”

Strong opposition to Karni Sena

Karni Sena’s Jodhpur president Mansingh Medatiya said, “This law has been brought to suppress the upper caste community. We will strongly oppose it and will soon formulate a strategy and protest.” Social organizations have warned that if these rules are not changed, they will protest on a large scale.

NSUI support

Regarding UGC-2026, NSUI District President Dr. Bablu Solanki supported it and said, “This Act has come into force from January 15 and has been brought on the basis of the data of increasing violence in universities.” He said, “Anyone who does wrong will be punished. A committee will be formed considering the possibility of false cases, which will take impartial decisions.”

BJP leader: Situation of confusion will go away soon

Former minister and senior BJP leader Rajendra Singh Rathore said that “the opposition that is taking place regarding UGC-2026 is a situation of confusion. This confusion will be cleared soon.” He says that once people get correct information, the protests will calm down automatically.

Main points of controversy

Arguments of opponents:

– Discrimination against general category students
– Danger of getting trapped in false cases
– Conspiracy to suppress the Golden Society
– Legal provisions very strict

Proponents’ arguments:

– Necessary to stop increasing violence in universities
– Created based on data from the last five years
– Impartial committee will investigate false cases
– Only those who do wrong will be punished

Protests in many states

Protests regarding this guideline have started in many states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Student organizations and social organizations are taking to the streets. Social organizations have said that they will soon prepare a big strategy and if the government does not change these rules, they will hold a statewide agitation.

The protesting organizations have demanded from the government to clarify the controversial provisions of the UGC-2026 guidelines and remove the alleged discrimination against general category students.

The issue of factionalism in Rajasthan Congress is not hidden from anyone. The divisions that arose in the party during the previous Congress government are equally deep visible even today. At present, statements of all the senior leaders of the state Congress are coming out across the country on the issue of mining related to the Aravali mountain range. NSUI State President Vinod Jakhar, associated with the Sachin Pilot camp, is going to take out a rally against this issue. Sachin Pilot himself will participate in this rally. He has also given information regarding this on social media.

We are talking about factionalism in the Congress because at present Congress is in opposition in the state and in such a situation, the foot rally that NSUI is going to take out on Friday (26 December) against the BJP in power on the Aravali issue, will be only two and a half kilometers long. Many MLAs and leaders including Sachin Pilot will participate in this two and a half kilometer long rally.

Sachin Pilot group’s foot march against BJP

Let us tell you that during the previous Congress government, the Sachin Pilot group had undertaken a journey of more than 100 kilometers from Ajmer to Jaipur in the paper leak case against its own government. On the other hand, the leaders who took out only a two and a half kilometer long march on a national issue like Aravalli and on the other hand took out a long march of more than a hundred kilometers against their own government, are seen to be doing only gratification against the BJP.

Politics intensifies regarding NSUI rally

Supporters of both the factions are targeting each other on social media regarding the NSUI rally to be held on Friday. But now it has to be seen who participates in this two and a half kilometer long foot rally organized by NSUI.

What do political experts say?

Political experts say that Ashok Gehlot was the first to open the front on the Aravali issue, after which now the other camp does not want to give much air to this issue. In such a situation, the leaders will register their presence as a fillip through the rally organized by NSUI.

The country’s capital Delhi was once again put to shame when a student of Delhi University was attacked with acid in broad daylight. This incident took place on Sunday (26 October) morning near Lakshmibai College in Ashok Vihar area, where the student was going for her extra classes.

Suddenly a bike rider threw acid on him. The student tried to save herself. His face was saved, but both his hands were badly burnt.

The one who threw acid was known to the student

Passersby immediately took him to the hospital. First he was taken to Deepchand Bandhu Hospital and later admitted to RML Hospital due to severe burns. According to doctors, the condition of the student is stable and the injuries are not life threatening.

Police investigation has revealed that the main accused was an acquaintance of the student. The accused Jitendra, who lives in Mukundpur area, used to stalk the student. About a month ago, there was a fight between the two over some issue, after which Jitendra started harassing her.

It is claimed that he along with two of his friends committed this crime on Sunday. According to the police, Ishaan gave the bottle to Armaan and he threw the acid.

Questions on women’s safety in Delhi

After the attack, the three accused fled from the spot. However, the police have identified him on the basis of nearby CCTV footage and several teams are conducting raids in search of him. This incident has once again raised serious questions on the safety of women in Delhi.

Protest by NSUI and SFI

Organizations active in student politics of Delhi University have strongly condemned this incident. National Students Union of India (NSUI) national president Varun Chaudhary said, “Acid was thrown on a Delhi University student in broad daylight, this is not just a crime but a proof of the failure of governance. If the BJP government and Delhi Police had really given priority to women’s safety, such incidents would have stopped. The culprits should be arrested immediately and they should be given strict punishment.”

Varun Chaudhary further said that NSUI stands with the victim and her family and the organization will continue to raise its voice until justice is provided.

SFI raised questions on the working style of police

At the same time, Students Federation of India (SFI), Delhi University unit also issued a statement saying that this incident is not just a crime but a symbol of ‘administrative insensitivity and government failure’. The organization said, “It is shocking that such an attack could happen in broad daylight, in front of a women’s college in the capital. The Delhi government and the police have repeatedly failed in such cases. Unless the culprits are given stringent punishment and security is not increased around college campuses, such incidents will continue.”

SFI also said, “In the past years, acid-related incidents were also reported near Miranda House, but concrete steps were never taken. This negligence has now become a threat to women.”

ABVP put this demand before the administration

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has described this incident as extremely unfortunate and condemnable and has demanded strict action from the administration against the culprits who carried out this attack.

ABVP says that such incidents in and around the university campus are a matter of serious concern from the safety point of view of girl students. ABVP has demanded from the university administration that such incidents should not be repeated, for this security arrangements should be strictly implemented around the campus, the number of CCTV cameras should be increased and police patrolling should be made more active.

Dissatisfaction among university students

Delhi Police has registered an FIR in the matter and said that action will be taken against the criminals under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). According to police officials, several teams have been sent to arrest the accused and technical surveillance has been increased.

After this attack, students protested in colleges and asked ‘How safe are the daughters of Delhi?’ As if the questions started echoing again. Seeing the attacks on women in the capital, people’s anger is clearly visible, because even after repeated such cases, the security situation is not changing.
