Since the announcement of the film, Junior NTR has been in the news in both fan circles and trade. With NTR and Prashant Neel coming together for the first time, expectations are sky high and now all eyes are on the first glimpse, which could prove to be one of the biggest glimpse launches in recent times.

It is common for film stars to enter politics in South India, but many actors could not maintain their political presence for long. Superstar Chiranjeevi had founded his own party Praja Rajyam in 2008, which merged with the Congress in 2011. Praja Rajyam contested the 2009 assembly elections and won 18 seats in the 294-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly. Later Megastar Chiranjeevi stayed away from active politics. Chiranjeevi’s brother Pawan Kalyan founded the Jana Sena Party in 2014, but did not contest elections that year. He contested the elections in 2019, but lost from both the seats. Only one candidate from his party won.

However, in 2024, he performed brilliantly in alliance with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and his party won all the 21 seats on which it contested.

Kamal Haasan also lost the election

In Tamil Nadu, veteran actor Kamal Haasan founded Makkal Needhi Mayyam in 2018. He contested the 2021 assembly elections from Coimbatore South, but lost to Ulaganayagan by a small margin. He later joined DMK and became a Rajya Sabha member in 2025. Vijayakanth, another popular Tamil actor, founded the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMK) in 2005. He was known as ‘Captain’.

DMDK performed well in its first election in 2006 and Vijayakanth won from Vriddhachalam seat. In the 2011 elections, he defeated J. Formed an alliance with Jayalalithaa led AIADMK and became the leader of the opposition. Vijayakanth died in December 2023 and his party is now part of the DMK-led alliance.

Well-known producer of South Industry, Naga Vamsi was the Telugu distributor of ‘War 2’. He had created a lot of hype about the film in the pre-release event held in Hyderabad. Producers seemed quite excited about Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut.

Now in his special conversation with Great Andhra, the producer has given clarification about the failure of the film and his loss. After ‘War 2’ performed average at the box office, rumors started flying that Naga Vamsi had invested Rs 100 crores in it.

The Telugu distributor of the film has broken its silence on this. He said, ,Everyone on Twitter keeps speculating about how much I have suffered from War 2. I bought it for 68 crores. With this I got shares worth Rs 35-40 crores. Yash Raj Films called me to return Rs 18 crore. I had already put forward the condition. Despite being a Bombay based company and a commercial production house, he stuck to his word and returned the amount. That,s why I hardly faced any loss here. ,

The pre-release event of ‘War 2’ was organized in Hyderabad. Here Naga Vamsi had created amazing hype for the release of the film and the Bollywood debut of Jr NTR. In his speech, the Telugu distributor of ‘War 2’ even said, ‘Our net in Telugu should be bigger than Hindi and it will have to be made ten times bigger than the opening of Devara.
