Elon Musk, one of the richest people in the world who shares his opinion on social media without any filter, has made a big prediction. He has said that the world is soon going to get trapped in a global war in the coming times. He made this prediction while replying to a post.

This post discussed the impact of nuclear deterrence on global governance. It was posted by a user named Hunter. It said that governments around the world were less effective at governance due to the lack of any external threat of war.

What did you say on social media?
The user wrote in his post, all governments are useless because nuclear weapons now prevent war or the threat of it between powerful countries. There is no external or market pressure on the current governments.

On this, Elon Musk replied that there is going to be a war. According to Musk, war is going to happen in the next 5 to 10 years.

However, it could not be confirmed whether Musk gave this answer jokingly, or whether he discussed it seriously.

What did AI Chat Bot Grock tell?
On this statement, when some people asked for analysis on AI chatbot Grok, Grok wrote that Allen has not mentioned the parties or reasons in that post. We have seen in his previous statements warning of a global war due to mass migration and identity politics in Europe and the UK or the US-China or Ukraine-Russia war on Taiwan escalating to World War III.

War is inevitable.

5 years, 10 at most.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 1, 2025

Musk has been the mastermind of DOGE

Musk has been the owner of SpaceX. He had a big interference in this time’s presidential elections. But his statement is also being taken seriously because he has been the mastermind of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under the US President. Considering his work, his comment has attracted direct attention.

Nuclear weapons are considered the most lethal weapons for humanity. These include killing large numbers...

Nuclear weapons are considered the most lethal weapons for humanity. These include killing large numbers of people in a matter of moments, destroying cities and creating environmental and health crises that can last for decades. Today we will know in detail the main types of these weapons, their effects, historical examples and the warnings and legal framework raised against them at the global level. Nuclear weapons are generally divided into four major types.

1. Fission (fission/atomic) bomb

This is the oldest type and in this, huge energy is released from the fission of nuclei of heavy atoms. Historically, the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were in this category. It has the potential to cause massive destruction in small cities or large areas and leave immediate and long-term radiation effects.

2. Thermonuclear (hydrogen) bomb

It is many times more energetic than fission. It involves integrated fission-triggered and fusion processes, due to which the yield can go from kilotons to megatons. Extreme heat, huge pressure waves and long-term radioactive fallout can affect large areas. Therefore it is considered the most dangerous at the tactical and strategic level. The name of ‘Tsar Bomba’ is associated with one of the most powerful tests in history, whose yield estimation has been discussed.

3. Neutron Bomb (Radiation-Focused)

It is a special type of the thermonuclear family that aims to cause significant damage to survivors through rapid high-level neutron radiation rather than a blast, while leaving physical structures relatively intact. Its use has been considered in military strategies but is not widely supported due to humanitarian and legal concerns.

4. Dirty Bomb (Radiological Dispersal Device)

Dirty bombs are made by mixing radioactive material with conventional explosives so that radioactive pollution can be spread. This is not a conventional ‘nuclear explosion’, but can cause local-area fear, economic damage and long-term health risks. Its purpose is generally considered to be terrorism or instigating public consciousness.

Once upon a time, the bombings by Iran and Israel had pushed the whole world under the fear of the third world war. At that time, America also took the lead and claimed that it had destroyed all the nuclear sites of Tehran. However, Iran had called this claim false. But the question still remains that how many nuclear weapons are left in the world?

According to the Yearbook 2025 of Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), by January 2025, 9 countries of the world together have 12,241 nuclear weapons. India’s name is also included in these countries. The report says that despite global tension, many countries are upgrading their nuclear programs. While on one hand there is talk of keeping distance from nuclear weapons amidst the Russia-Ukraine war and the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, on the other hand their number is continuously increasing the concern.

The SIPRI report states that about 3,912 nuclear weapons are deployed on missiles and aircraft around the world. Of these, 2,100 weapons have been kept on high alert, meaning they can be used within minutes.

9 nuclear countries are working on nuclear modernization programs

Apart from this, all 9 nuclear countries are still working on their nuclear modernization programs, under which old weapons are being upgraded with new technology.

Some countries destroyed old retired nuclear weapons

According to the report, compared to last year, some countries have destroyed old retired nuclear weapons. But as many weapons are being destroyed, almost the same number of new weapons are being made. This means that the world is still not completely out of the danger of nuclear war.

On November 2, US President Donald Trump, while giving an interview to CBS News, said that Pakistan is conducting nuclear tests. Now America needs to conduct nuclear tests again. Trump claimed that America has so many nuclear weapons that the world can be destroyed 150 times, but due to the activities of Russia and China, testing is necessary. It is noteworthy that America conducted its last nuclear test on 23 September 1992. Now due to Trump’s statement the nuclear bomb has come into discussion again.

So let us understand in ABP Explainer what is the meaning of Trump’s statement, why are all the countries increasing their nuclear stockpile and how this bomb can destroy the whole world 0 times…

Question 1- What statement did Donald Trump give regarding nuclear bombs and what is its meaning?
answer- On November 2, Donald Trump appeared on American news channel CBS’s ’60 Minutes’ program. Trump was asked that except North Korea, no one is doing nuclear test, so why are you doing it? On this, Trump said that Russia, Pakistan and China are also doing secret tests, but the world does not know. We have to talk about this because otherwise you guys will report. They don’t have journalists who can write about this. We will test, because they test, others also test and of course North Korea is testing. In fact Trump has already ordered the Ministry of Defense (Pentagon) to start testing nuclear weapons immediately.

On the question of when and where to conduct nuclear tests again after three decades, Trump simply said, ‘We have testing sites, it will be announced soon.’ When Trump was asked whether he thought this could lead the world into a more dangerous nuclear environment, Trump said, ‘I think we have kept it under control to a great extent.’

Question 2- When was the world’s first atomic bomb made and how many countries have this weapon?
answer- The making of the world’s first atomic bomb began in December 1938, when scientists Otto Hahn and Fritz Straussmann in a German lab bombarded uranium-235 atoms with intense neutrons. Due to this, the uranium atom suddenly broke into two parts and a huge amount of energy was released. This experiment was called nuclear fission. Jewish scientist Lisa Meitner said that if it causes a chain reaction, tremendous energy will be released. American scientists felt that a major weapon had come into the hands of Nazi Germany.

After this, in June 1942, America started preparing to make the atom bomb secretly on the 18th floor of a building in Manhattan. The ‘Manhattan Project’ started under the leadership of American Brigadier General Leslie Groves and scientist Julius Robert Oppenheimer. 100 tons of uranium were collected in 2 months and Oppenheimer built a laboratory in the ravines of Los Alamos, New Mexico to work on the design.

Two years later, in July 1945, two bombs of uranium and plutonium were ready. On July 16, 1945, America successfully tested the first bomb in Trinity. On 6 August 1945, the uranium bomb ‘Little Boy’ was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan and on 9 August 1945, the plutonium bomb ‘Fatman’ was dropped on Nagasaki. About 1.5 lakh people were killed instantly in both the blasts. After this many countries started making nuclear bombs.

On August 29, 1949, the Soviet Union made the atomic bomb ‘First Thunder’. The successful test took place at 7 am in the desert area near the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan (then part of the Soviet Union).

On October 3, 1952, the United Kingdom created an atomic bomb named ‘Hurricane’. Successfully tested near Montebello Islands.

On 13 February 1960, France successfully tested the nuclear bomb ‘Jerbois Blue’ in the Sahara Desert in Algeria (then a French colony).

On October 16, 1964, the first atomic bomb was successfully tested in the Gobi Desert of Xinjiang province in China. This ‘Su596’ was a utanium-implosion fission bomb.

On 18 May 1974, India conducted a successful nuclear test in Pokhran, Rajasthan. In this nuclear project named ‘Smiling Buddha’, P-1 i.e. Plutonium-Implosion Fission Device nuclear bomb was tested.

On 28 May 1998, in response to India’s nuclear test, Pakistan also tested its first nuclear bomb ‘Chagai-1’. This happened in the Chagai hills of Balochistan province.

On October 9, 2006, North Korea also made a nuclear bomb. This bomb was tested at the Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site in north-eastern Korea.

Question 3- When did which countries stop nuclear tests and why?
answer- The nuclear testing spree led to more than 2,000 explosions, most of which occurred between 1950–1990. But global protests increased due to radioactive fallout. In 1954, America’s Castle Bravo test sickened Japanese fishermen, causing an uproar in the world. After this, on April 2, 1954, the then Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru for the first time demanded a ‘Standstill Agreement’ i.e. a ban on tests.

The first major step in banning nuclear tests was the ‘Partial Test Ban Treaty (PTBT), which was signed by the US, Soviet Union and Britain in Moscow on 5 August 1963. It came into force on 10 October 1963 and prohibited atmospheric, space and underwater tests. China did not sign PTBT. The most important measure to ban nuclear tests was the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 September 1996. Then it was signed by 76 countries. It completely banned all types of nuclear tests.

Soviet Union: No confirmed explosive test has been conducted since 1990.

America: No nuclear test has been conducted since 1992. The last atmospheric test was done in 1962.

United Kingdom: The last nuclear test was conducted in 1991. There was no test after this.

France: The last test was conducted underground in French Polynesia in 1996.

China: By 1996, China limited the tests and stopped them altogether by July 29.

India: The last successful nuclear test was conducted in Pokhran in 1998, which was named ‘Shakti-1’.

Pakistan: The last nuclear test was conducted with ‘Chagai-2’ in 1998.

North Korea: The last nuclear test was conducted in 2017. North Korea is the only country that conducted tests in the 21st century.

To avoid the threat of nuclear bombs, nuclear disarmament was started, which means completely eliminating nuclear weapons, so that the world becomes weapon-free. This is the origin of the NPT, which came into force on 5 March 1970. 191 countries signed. Under this, it was said that there should be a ban on making new weapons, destruction of existing ones and peaceful use.

Question 4- So now which countries have how many nuclear bombs and how many times can they destroy the world?
answer- According to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), a total of 9 countries in the world have nuclear weapons.

Russia has the maximum number of 5,459 nuclear bombs.

America has 5,177 nuclear bombs.

China has 600 nuclear weapons.

France has 290 nuclear bombs.

Britain has 225 nuclear bombs.

India has a stockpile of 180 nuclear bombs.

Pakistan has 170 nuclear bombs.

Israel has 90 nuclear bombs.

North Korea has 50 nuclear bombs.

Apart from this, there have been reports of Israel also having a nuclear bomb, but it has not been confirmed. It is said that Israel is secretly making nuclear bombs.

According to SIPRI report, a nuclear bomb can destroy a city within minutes. There are 12,241 nuclear warheads worldwide, whose total explosive capacity is more than 2,500 megatons. The Hiroshima bomb was 0.015 megatons, so this is equivalent to 1.66 lakh Hiroshima bombs. But the danger is not just explosion, but ‘nuclear winter’. If 100 Hiroshima-like bombs are dropped in a regional war like India-Pakistan, then 50 lakh tonnes of smoke will go into the stratosphere, which will block sunlight. Crops will be destroyed for two decades and people will die of starvation.

According to SIPRI report, about 3 thousand nuclear warheads can destroy the Earth 50-100 times. If this is estimated, then the world can be destroyed more than 300 times with a total of 12,241 nuclear warheads. Russia has the world’s most powerful nuclear bomb, which is named ‘Tsar Bomb’. It is of 50 megatons. But this danger is so great that scientists say, ‘Even a limited war can end civilization.’

Question 5- Are any countries still trying to make nuclear bombs?
answer- Apart from 9 countries, there are many ‘threshold states’ which can make weapons. Iran is at the top among these. According to the report of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) dated May 31, 2025, Iran has 408 kg of 60% uranium, which can make many bombs. Iran’s Kavir plan is working on long-range missiles, which is based on North Korean design. However, Israeli and American attacks have damaged Iran’s nuclear program to a great extent.

Apart from this, Saudi Arabia has said that if Iran makes a nuclear bomb, we will also make it. Public support has increased in South Korea and Japan, but is being held back due to American guarantees. Turkey and Germany are also ‘hedgers’, they have the capacity but not the political will. According to SIPRI, Iran-Israel tension may increase the regional competition to make nuclear bombs.

Question 6- So what is the meaning of Trump’s statement? Is the nuclear race about to start?
answer- Retired Lieutenant General of the Indian Army and defense expert Sanjay Kulkarni says, ‘The Russia-Ukraine war and America-China tension have created a situation like a second cold war. Russia had suspended the New START treaty in 2023, which set limits on the weapons of both countries. China is producing 100 new warheads every year. Pakistan is also conducting nuclear tests. The recent earthquakes that occurred in Afghanistan do not seem to be of any natural disaster but of nuclear testing.

Sanjay Kulkarni says that Trump has understood very well that a power like nuclear bomb should not increase in the hands of a country that promotes terrorism. They are openly warning that if the rest of the world does not give up on nuclear bombs, America will also start nuclear testing. Looking at the current situation, it seems that many countries are secretly working on making nuclear bombs. In such a situation, if nuclear war occurs, it will be difficult to control it.

US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he had postponed a possible nuclear...

US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he had postponed a possible nuclear war by stopping the increasing tension between India and Pakistan through trade. Trump made this statement during a meeting with NATO General Secretary Mark Roote at the Oval Office of the White House on Monday.

Trump said, “We have succeeded in finding a solution between many wars. You have an example of India and Pakistan, which were moving in the direction where there could have been a nuclear war in the next one week, but we used the business to handle the situation.”

He further said, “I clearly said that America will not talk on business until you (Indo-Pak) resolve mutual disputes. The situation was calm only then.”

Trump again repeated old claim

This is not the first time Trump has claimed this. On May 10, through social media posts, he also said that India and Pakistan agreed to the complete and immediate ceasefire with America’s mediation. Since then, he has reiterated the same statement dozens of times that he played a decisive role in ending Indo-Pak tension.

India had already rejected this claim

However, the Government of India has already completely rejected Trump’s claim. India says that the ceasefire with Pakistan was agreed after direct talks between the military officers (DGMO level) of the two countries, not by the mediation of a third country.

The Ministry of External Affairs had made it clear at that time that India does not accept external intervention in its bilateral matters and has been talking to Pakistan through military channels to maintain peace along the border.

Rana Sanaullah, Special Advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has told for the first time that when India fired a missile on Nurkhan airbase, what was the atmosphere in the top leadership. Rana Sanaullah said that when the BrahMos missile came and fell on the Nurkhan airbase, there was a lot of fear in the top leadership and within 30-40 seconds it was to decide whether it is not a sign of a nuclear attack.

Pakistan’s Nurkhan airbase is a few kilometers from the Pak Army headquarters in Rawalpindi. Islamabad is just 10 km from this. Talking with Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir, Rana Sanaullah said that when India attacked the Nurkhan airbase from the BrahMos missile and fell on the missile airbase, Pakistan leadership had only 30-40 seconds, to find out that the BrahMos missile is coming, there is no atom bomb with it.

If we had attacked in misunderstanding, then the nuclear war would have erupted, Rana said
Rana Sanaullah said, ‘To decide in those 30 seconds that it is not and decide that this is an atomic bomb … You can understand how dangerous it was.’ He said, ‘Let me do not say that they did not do a nuclear attack, it was not good but such a misunderstanding that happens and there would have been an attack (nuclear attack), or there would have been misunderstanding and there would have been such an attack from there, then the whole world would go into the nuclear war and you can guess the destruction.’

Rana Sanaullah praises Trump
Rana Sanaullah also praised US President Donald Trump and said that if he did not intervene, the situation could have turned into a terrible nuclear confrontation, so the role that Trump has played should be impartially analysis and the character he played should also be praised.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also expressed fear of nuclear attack
Prior to Rana Sanaullah, Pakistan People’s Party chief and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also talked about the fear of nuclear attack. However, India’s stand on the nuclear attack is clear and it follows the policy of no-first use.

Pakistan has been threatening nuclear war since the Pahalgam attack
Ever since the tension between India and Pakistan has increased after the Pahalgam terror attack, the Pak has threatened the nuclear war from the PM, the Defense Minister, the Foreign Minister to the Pak Army Chief. However, India says that it is not afraid of Pakistan’s threat of nuclear weapons and will also take necessary steps to protect their people.

Un Chief on Iran Israel Conflict: United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Gutaras while addressing an emergency meeting of the Security Council amid tension in West Asia, stating that the US bombing on Iran’s nuclear bases indicates a “dangerous twist” in this threatened area. He said that the possibility of military conflict in West Asia already unstable conditions has increased even more. US President Donald Trump had announced a military attack on Iran’s three major nuclear centers, Natanj and Isfahan. Soon after, 15 member countries of the United Nations Security Council held an emergency session on Sunday, which discussed these attacks and their effects.

Appeal of Gutaras: No military action, negotiation is necessary
Gutaras told the Security Council, “This attack further enhances the instability already in the region. I have been opposing any kind of military growth in West Asia since the beginning.” He warned that the people of the region are not in a position to bear the destruction again, and if the process of retaliation starts, the whole world may get caught in a new war marsh.

Appeal to give a chance to diplomacy, not war
Gutaras insisted that the international community should take immediate and decisive steps to start serious and continuous talks on the Iranian nuclear program again. He also said that Iran should fully respect the Nuclear Non -Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as it is the foundation of global peace and security.

Future warning: one will choose from two routes
The United Nations chief also warned that the world will now have to choose one of the two paths – or the path that leads to war, destruction and disintegration of international system, or the path that reduces tension, promote dialogue and moves from diplomacy to solution. He clearly said, “We know which is the right path and we should walk on it.”

IAEA chief report: Nuclear safety threatens
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Gursi also informed the Security Council that the attacks on Iran’s nuclear bases have had a serious impact on the country’s nuclear security and safety. He said, “Although no radioactive radiation has spread from these attacks yet, the possibility of this happening in future cannot be ruled out.”

Status of Fordo and Natanj
Fordo is Iran’s major uranium enhancement center, where up to 60 percent uranium is enhanced. IAEA said that at the moment he has not received any major damage in the forces, but made it clear that there should never be military attacks on such locations, because it can cause radioactive threats in that country and surrounding areas.

IAEA request: Maximum restraint
Rafael Grosy appealed to all parties to exercise maximum restraint and said that such military actions could endanger people’s lives and create serious obstacles in the ongoing diplomatic process to guarantee Iran’s nuclear weapons.

America’s response
America’s caretaker representative at the United Nations, Dorothy Xi said that the Security Council should appeal to Iran to stop the 47 years of efforts to destroy Israel, end their nuclear program, stop attacks on Americans and American interests and start “goodwill peace talks”.
