The audience called the film boring
Recently, in a conversation with ABP News, the audience has given their reactions. Audience Rajesh has praised the acting a lot. He said, ‘I had seen Kabir Singh before, it had very good action but this film is a bit boring. He further said that the action is quite good in this.

Farida Jalal was highly praised
Viewer Hema praised Farida Jalal a lot. He said that we 90S kids have seen Farida Jalal’s different style in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and many old films. But she has a negative role in this and she looks quite aggressive. I liked her character in this age. At the same time, he also praised Nana Patekar’s acting. However, he believes that Shahid Kapoor could not show as special talent in this film as he did in his film Kabir Singh.

About ‘O Romeo’
This film is Shahid Kapoor’s fourth film with Vishal Bhardwaj after Haider, Kaminey and Rangoon. Apart from Shahid and Trupti Dimri, the film also stars Avinash Tiwari, Farida Jalal, Vikrant Massey, Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani. Set in a dark criminal underworld, the story revolves around a ruthless gangster whose life changes when a forbidden and unrequited love triggers a brutal gang war.

A Mumbai court has refused to stay the release of the film and also rejected the interim relief granted to the daughter of late gangster Hussain Ustara, who had claimed that the film is based on her father’s life.

Court refuses to ban the film ‘O Romeo’
Mumbai City Civil Court has rejected the demand to ban the release of the film ‘O Romeo’. The court says that at this time no concrete reason has emerged for banning the film. This decision was given by Judge H.C. Shende on Saturday.

What was the whole matter?
Petitioner Sanaubar Shaikh had told the court that the story of the film is similar to the life of his late father Hussain Shaikh alias Hussain Ustra. His allegation was that his father’s identity, personal life and name had been used without permission. He had demanded to stop the release of the film scheduled for 13 February 2026 and show the film first.

It was also said in the petition that the teaser, trailer and promotion of the film contain such characters and scenes which resemble the life of his father. The makers of the film told the court that this film is completely fictional, not the story of any real person and a clear disclaimer has also been given in it.

The court said that the film has already received legal approval and the petitioner has not challenged that approval. In the initial opinion of the court, it is not clear that the character in the film is directly based on the petitioner’s father. The court also said that the extent to which a person’s name and privacy rights apply after his death is a complex and evolving matter of law. In such a situation, it would not be right to ban the film immediately. The court also accepted that if there is any kind of loss, it can be compensated through compensation.

The court also took note of the fact that the petition was filed very late and a stay was sought very close to the release. The court rejected the demand to show the film first, saying that it would be like imposing censorship through the court. Ultimately the court rejected the petition and made it clear that the things said in this order are only preliminary and will have no impact on the final hearing of the case.

Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has increased the excitement of fans by releasing the teaser of his upcoming film ‘O Romeo’. Bollywood’s veteran actress Farida Jalal was also seen in this teaser, but she was most discussed about her only dialogue, in which she is seen speaking abusive words.

As soon as the teaser came out, this dialogue went viral on social media. Responding to this, Farida Jalal said that in her first conversation with Vishal Bhardwaj regarding the film, she had clearly said that she would not use ‘dirty abuses’. Despite this, his scene in the teaser became shocking and memorable for the audience.

Working with Vishal was like a dream
While talking to Zoom, Farida Jalal told that Vishal Bhardwaj has always been one of her favorite directors. Through ‘O Romeo’ she fulfilled another wish, because before this she had worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in ‘Hiramandi’. Farida recalled that when Vishal came to her house, he told her that working with him was like another dream for him. After this Vishal jokingly asked her, ‘You will abuse, right?’

I will not use abuses like ‘mother-sister’ – Farida
Farida Jalal, while sharing her response to Vishal’s question, said, ‘Can you even think? I didn’t understand what to say. I was so shocked that he was there and I was going to work with him. I said, ‘No, leave it, leave it, I was not going to speak like that.’ Then I clearly said that I will not use ‘nasty abuses’. If there are small, minor abuses then I can give them. According to me it was not very dirty or objectionable. I will not say abuses like mother and sister. He laughed at this and understood the point.

Farida further said, ‘I have said it only once in the film and then see how much ruckus it created. Look at the comments on the internet, people are saying, ‘Farida Jalal said this, our dear grandmother said this.’ He has seen me since childhood and I stayed away from such dialogues, but no problem.

When will the film be released?
O Romeo directed by Vishal Bhardwaj is one of the most awaited films of this year. Apart from Shahid Kapoor and Farida Jalal, Trupti Dimri, Disha Patani, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vikrant Massey and Avinash Tiwari will also be seen in important roles in the film. The film is going to be released in theaters on 13 February 2026.
