Indian batsmen have played many memorable innings in ODI cricket. From Sachin Tendulkar to Rohit Sharma, many players have scored for double and triple centuries, but surprisingly, the names of some great and legendary players of India have only one century in ODI International. These include names like Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev.

Sunil Gavaskar – First and last century in Nagpur

Sunil Gavaskar’s name is recorded for scoring 10,000 runs in Test cricket. Gavaskar’s career has also been long in ODI format. He played 108 ODIs for India but during this time he scored only one century. This century came against New Zealand in Nagpur in the 1987 World Cup, when he scored 103 runs. This was the only century of his ODI career.

Kapil Dev – Historical century of 1983 World Cup

The name of India’s first World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev is counted among the world’s largest all -rounders. He played 225 ODIs and scored 3783 runs, but his only century in ODI career came in front of Zimbabwe’s team in the 1983 World Cup. India had lost 5 wickets for 17 runs in that match, then Kapil Dev gave the team a brilliant victory by scoring an unbeaten 175 runs.

Sanjay Manjrekar – A century against South Africa

Sanjay Manjrekar, who was counted among India’s technically strong batsmen, played 74 ODIs. 15 half -centuries came out of his bat, but a century came only once. He scored 100 runs against South Africa in 1991. After this, he could not reach a century innings again.

Dilip Vengsarkar – only one century in ODI

Dilip Vengsarkar played 116 Tests for India and scored 17 centuries, but his story was different in ODIs. He scored 23 half -centuries in 129 matches, but just scored a century. The innings came against New Zealand in 1988, when he scored 105 runs.

Robin Singh – Career’s alone century

Robin Singh, who played 136 ODIs for India, was a trusted batsman for middle order, but his name is also only one century. He scored this century against Sri Lanka in 1997. The special thing is that this was his only century in his entire list-e-career.
