The man had said, “Jyoti Malhotra, who runs a YouTube channel called Travel with Jo and who has about 4 lakh subscribers, has now become a main suspect in investigating the alleged Pakistani espionage network active in North India.” According to the report of Hindustan Times, he was arrested in May 2025, but before that many apprehensions had come to light about his relations with Pakistan.

It was feared to be connected with Pakistan only in May 2024
Jyoti Malhotra, a resident of Hisar, Haryana, is accused of shared with Pakistan’s military secrets with Pakistan. He was arrested a few days after the Pahalgam attack. However, for the first time in May 2024, a social media post went viral on his suspicious activities, fearing his association with Pakistan. Malhotra traveled twice in Pakistan in 2023 and his social media posts show that his Kashmir trips were often after Pakistan visits, which proved to be an important clue for investigation.

A person named Kapil Jain had conscious NIA
In May 2024, a X user Kapil Jain directly alerted the NIA to monitor Jyoti Malhotra. He wrote, “NIA, please keep a close watch on this woman, she first went to the Pakistani Embassy program, then went to Pakistan for 10 days, now going to Kashmir. There can be some links behind all of them.”

The name of Danish, an employee of the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, has also appeared in Jyoti Malhotra’s relationship with Pakistan. In May 2023, he moved to the High Commission for a visa and during this time he met Danish. According to the report, Jyoti arranged her stay in Pakistan with Ali Ahwan, an acquaintance of Danish.

Ali Ahwan met Jyoti with Pakistani security and intelligence officials, including Shakir and Rana Shahbaz. Investigation also revealed that Jyoti had saved Shahbaz’s mobile number in her phone in the name of ‘Jatt Randhawa’, so that there was no doubt.
