Bollywood actress Kriti Kharbanda has recently warned her fans and followers about a serious cyber fraud case. Kriti told that some unknown person has created a fake account on WhatsApp in her name and is contacting people. Kriti shared the information about this identity theft through her Instagram story.

Warning by sharing screenshot of fake chat
While posting the screenshot of WhatsApp chat, Kriti made it clear that this number is not hers. He wrote that ‘this is not right. This is not correct at all. This is not my number. Posing as someone else is clearly identity theft. Be alert.

Increasing case of online fraud and fake identity
This warning of the actress has come at a time when cases of online fraud and fake identity in the name of celebrities and public figures are continuously increasing. Often the purpose of such fake accounts is to mislead people, take personal information or defraud money. Kriti has tried to save her fans from fraud by bringing this matter to the fore in time.

Fans’ reaction and demand for online security
Fans immediately reacted to Kriti’s post and thanked her for giving the information. Many users have expressed concern about the increasing misuse on social media and messaging platforms and have also demanded strict action against online fraud.

No official complaint was filed
However, Kriti has not clarified whether any official complaint has been filed in this matter or not. But his message definitely shows the importance of being cautious online. Cyber experts advise not to trust any unknown account without thinking, do not share personal or professional information and immediately report such cases on the relevant platform.

Jumped Deposit Scam: As the world is moving towards digitalization, various methods of online fraud have also started emerging. Often, to avoid these, it is advised not to share your OTP with any stranger or give your bank details or click on any link indiscriminately. But now a trick is being adopted in which your bank account can become empty even without sharing OTP or downloading any app. Cyber criminals have now come up with a new method which is being called Jumped Deposit. In this, your honesty is being taken advantage of to cheat you.

What is Jumped Deposit?

Imagine, suddenly a message comes on your phone that Rs 5,000 has been deposited in your bank account. Meanwhile you get a call or message saying, “Sir, money has been transferred to your account by mistake, please check.” It is from here that scammers start laying their net. Fraudsters send you a link and ask you to click on it to check your balance or refund the money. As soon as you click on the link, it takes you directly to your UPI app (like Google Pay or PhonePe). As soon as you enter your UPI PIN to check balance, instead of getting Rs 5,000 back, Rs 50,000 or more is deducted from your account.

Taking advantage of reversal request

Cyber wings of Tamil Nadu and Cyberabad have detected this fraud, in which criminals use reversal request. According to the rules of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), if money is transferred to someone by mistake, a request can be made to get it back. Taking advantage of this, criminals generate reversal requests for a huge amount and hide it behind a normal balance check link. They know that as soon as the user sees the message of money being credited to their account, they will immediately try to check their balance and as soon as you enter your PIN, you unknowingly approve the reversal request for that huge amount.

How to take precautions?

To avoid this scam, even if money is credited to your account, do not panic or do anything hasty.

If any message comes, do not open your UPI app for the next 30 minutes. Due to this, the time limit of reversal request will be exceeded and the link will become invalid.

Never use the link sent by someone else to check your balance. Always check your balance directly through the app.

Even if you open the app by mistake and you are suspicious, do not enter your PIN.

If someone claims that money has been transferred to your account by mistake, ask them to contact the bank and lodge a complaint. Let the money be returned only through the correct bank process.

Golden Hour in Cyber Fraud: In the increasing era of digital payments, cases of online fraud are continuously increasing. Cyber fraudsters empty your bank account within a few seconds. In such a situation, the most important thing is the golden hour, i.e. the first 60 minutes after the fraud occurs. If you take the right steps within this one hour, your chances of getting your money back increase manifold. As soon as there is a delay, there is a risk of the money being lost almost forever.

What to do immediately? time is only 60 minutes

As soon as you realize that someone has withdrawn money from your account, start taking immediate action. First of all, call your bank’s helpline and report the concerned transaction. If the bank is informed immediately, it can stop the payment or put it on hold.

After this lodge a complaint on 1930 (National Cyber Fraud Helpline). This number is issued by the government, where your complaint is immediately sent to the Financial Fraud Monitoring System. The sooner the complaint is filed, the easier it will be to get the money frozen.

Don’t forget to lodge complaint on CYBERCRIME portal

If you find the phone number busy or not connected, immediately visit the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Here you can fill the fraud information online. The portal instantly sends your case to the nearest cyber cell and bank. Keep in mind that many people complain late in panic and due to this they are not able to get their money back.

How do you get help from banks and police?

As soon as you report the fraud, your case reaches both the bank and the cyber police. The bank tries to trace the account where your money was transferred. If money has not yet been withdrawn from the fraud account, the bank can freeze it. Cyber police also rapidly track the transaction chain so that the money does not go further.

Prevention is the biggest weapon

Although ‘Golden Hour’ can bring your money back, it is more important to be cautious. Avoid unknown links, suspicious calls, messages in the name of KYC update and downloading fake apps. Do not share your bank OTP, PIN or card information with anyone.

These days, Black Friday sale is going on on almost every e-commerce platform. During this period, goods become very cheap and people do a lot of shopping. Seeing this, scammers also become active and they try to defraud people through fake websites or other means. Recently, more than 2,000 real looking fake websites have been detected, where people were being looted of money by luring them with sales. In such a situation, there is a need to be cautious while shopping online. Today we are going to tell you tips to stay safe while online shopping.

Shop only from trusted websites

For online shopping, always go to a trusted website only. Avoid shopping on any new or suspicious looking website due to the lure of links received in messages or attractive offers seen on social media.

Look for the lock icon in the URL

If you have doubts about any website, always check its URL carefully. There will be no spelling mistake in the URL of the original website and a lock icon will also be visible in it. The lock icon means that the site has Secure Sockets Layer encryption, making your data more secure than an unencrypted site.

Do not shop with debit card

Use only mobile payment app or credit card for online shopping. Never shop with debit card. If the debit card gets compromised then cyber criminals will get all the details of your bank account, due to which you will have to suffer huge loss.

Don’t shop on public Wi-Fi

If you are at a cafe, railway station or airport and using public Wi-Fi, then avoid online shopping. The reason for this is that public Wi-Fi has less security and the transactions done through it can be hacked. Therefore, always shop through a secured connection.

Read this also-

Creators are busy, now they will get more reach, Instagram brought this powerful feature

These days, there is a lot of buzz about Black Friday sale on the internet. Every e-commerce platform is giving huge discounts in this sale and people are also doing a lot of shopping. If you are also clicking on the Black Friday Sale banner on the internet, then you need to be a little careful. In fact, a cyber security company named CloudSEK has found that there are more than 2000 fake websites on the Internet imitating companies like Amazon, Samsung and Apple, which are luring customers in the name of sales and stealing their data and payment information.

The biggest phishing network in recent years

According to the CloudSEK report, cybercriminals are running the largest phishing ecosystem in recent years. These fake websites have been designed to look absolutely real. These display festive sale banners, countdown clocks, fake trust badges and pop-ups with recent purchases, so that customers can reach the payment page without thinking too much. As soon as the customer reaches the checkout page after selecting the item, their information is stolen and they are redirected to a payment portal controlled by the hacker. Many customers pay here in a hurry and this money reaches the hackers. Cyber criminals have created these fake websites in the name of big companies like Apple, Cisco, Logitech, Toshiba, Xiaomi and Ray-Ban.

How to avoid such scams?

To avoid such scams, do not click on tempting advertisements seen on social media.

Check the website URL carefully before starting shopping. If there is spelling mistake in it then do not shop from here.

Be alert if the checkout page of any site redirects to a suspicious website.

These days, cases of cyber fraud are increasing in the country and the world. Scammers are trying to trap people in different ways. In view of this, Reliance Jio has alerted its users. The company has sent a message to its users informing them that cyber criminals are making fake messages and calls in its name. The company has also given some ways to avoid fraud in the message. Let us know about this in detail.

Jio told these methods of protection

In the message sent by Jio, it is written that beware of any fraudulent messages and calls sharing personal information. Let us tell you that nowadays cyber criminals take OTP and other information from people by luring or threatening them, which can cause huge loss.

Avoid downloading third-party apps

In the message, Jio has advised its users to avoid downloading third-party apps. The company said that Jio representatives will never ask you to download third-party apps. In such a situation, if someone asks you to download a third-party app on message or call, then be careful.

Be careful of suspicious links

Jio said that the company never sends such links to customers, which open outside My Jio app or Jio.com. Therefore, be careful of unknown links opening somewhere else.

Do these things when you are down

If someone comes to you posing as a representative of Jio and makes attractive offers, then do not get lured. If you want to get information about any service or offer of the company, then the help of MyJio app can be taken. Jio has said that in case of any doubt, users can search relevant information by logging into My Jio app.

Voicemail Scam: A new method of fraud is spreading rapidly across the country in which cyber criminals are sending fake voicemails in the name of RBI to trap people. PIB Fact Check has confirmed that this is a complete fraud whose real purpose is to grab people’s banking information.

How is the web of deception being spread?

In this fake voicemail it is claimed that some suspicious transactions have taken place on your credit card and if immediate action is not taken then your bank account may be closed. This message is designed to create panic, so that people hastily give their personal information like card number, PIN or OTP to criminals.

PIB Fact Check has clearly stated that RBI never gives any warning through voicemail nor asks customers to verify details on any unknown call.

How does RBI Voicemail Scam work?

Have you received a voicemail, allegedly from the Reserve Bank of India (@RBI), claiming that your bank account will be blocked as your credit card has been involved in fraudulent activity#PIBFactCheck

If you suspect any central… pic.twitter.com/REn8ZUFxlH

— PIB Fact Check (@PIBFactCheck) November 19, 2025

Fraudsters often spoof the number of a bank or government agency, making the call appear genuine. As soon as the person trusts the message and returns the call or enters information, criminals force him to give sensitive data in the name of verification. In many cases people lose their entire savings within minutes.

How to avoid this new voicemail scam?

The most important way to stay safe from this scam is to not trust any unknown call or voicemail, even if it is in the name of RBI, bank or government. RBI and banks never ask for personal information through phone or message.

If any message mentions closure, blocking or emergency of your account, first confirm the information by calling the official number of your bank directly. Keep your bank alerts active and always keep your mobile number updated so that security messages are received on time.

How to report PIB Fact Check?

To prevent misinformation and fraud, PIB has appealed to citizens to report any suspicious messages to their official channel. You can get verified by sending photo, video or text on these mediums.

WhatsApp: +91 8799711259

Email: factcheck@pib.gov.in

PIB team will check the message and tell you the correct facts so that you can stay safe from any online fraud.

Talking on social media can sometimes prove to be very dangerous. A surprising case has come to light from Hokkaido, the northern part of Japan. Here an old 80 -year -old woman was made a victim of cheating by a man. According to reports, in July, the woman met a fraud on social media. He described himself as an astronaut and said that he is on a space mission. The elderly woman had confidence in her and the conversation between the two started increasing. What happened after this will shake you.

Woman sent $ 6700 to fake astronaut

A few days later, the thug told the woman that her spacecraft could be attacked and he needs money to buy oxygen. The woman is convinced that if she did not help, the life of the “astronaut” would be in danger. After this, the woman sent $ 6,700 (about Rs 6 lakh) from five different shops between July and August through prepaid systems. During this, he did not tell his family anything. But later when he suspected that the matter was strange, he talked to his family members. Then the whole truth came to light.

Police said, getting money is almost impossible

After discussing with the family, the woman informed the police about this. Investigation revealed that the matter is of romance and online fraud. The police clearly said that it is almost impossible to get the woman’s money back. Local media published this news so that more people will also be careful. Police say, “If someone asks for money from you on social media, then immediately doubt and contact the police.”

Users said, a wonderful cap is a man

This is not the first case. In Japan, such strange fraud cases have been reported earlier. Even in the year 2022, a woman gave $ 30,000 (about 25 lakh rupees) to the person who described herself as an astronaut. As soon as the matter went viral on social media, the users also flew away. One user wrote … how can someone be so stupid. Another user wrote … A wonderful cap is brother.

Google form scam: Online fraud cases are constantly increasing and now cyber criminals have made Google Form a new weapon. While earlier it was used for office survey, event registration or contact forms, now the thugs are taking support of bank details and login information from people. Since these forms run on the real server of Google and the link starts from Docs.google.com, people easily cheat.

How does this fraud work?

This scam usually starts with a fishing email. The mail is designed in such a way that it seems to be of a trusted source like bank, office administrator or an acquaintance. Many times the thugs hack the account of your acquaintance and send a match with it, which reduces the suspicion even more.

The link sent in this email takes you directly to a Google Form. This form often resembles a copy of a company, bank or official portal. In this, you can ask for password, card details or other personal information. Sometimes the number/emails given for the link or cheating that the malware downloads in it are also hidden. The most dangerous thing is that thugs can make these forms with new links repeatedly. This fails the security software to catch them.

How to avoid Google Form Scam?

Never put password or payment details on any Google Form.

Do not trust unusual or sudden mails, especially when they ask you to take any action immediately.

If the mail claims to be from the bank or office, then contact and confirm that institution directly.

Under the Google Form, the message like “Never Submit Passwords” or “Content is Neither Created Nor Endorsed By Google” is written.

Every Google Form has a report button. If you look suspicious, report immediately.

What to do if you mistaken informed?

If you have inadvertently filled sensitive information, then immediately change your password and inform the concerned organization (eg bank or office). Their cyber security department can help you if needed. Google Form scam is definitely new but it is not difficult to avoid it. Be cautious, check suspicious links or mail again and do not share personal information on any unknown form. Also, keep your mobile and computer updated so that security remains from any possible malware.
