Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced three major bills in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (August 20, 2025). There is a provision in these bills that whether it is the Chief Minister of the state or the Prime Minister of the country, if he has any serious criminal charge and he stays in jail for 30 consecutive days, he will have to withdraw from his post. The opposition created a lot of uproar in the Lok Sabha regarding this bill. Not only this, the opposition MPs tore the bill and raised him towards Amit Shah. These three bills have been brought separately because there are different provisions for the central government, state government and leaders of union states.

Uproar in the house on introduction
As soon as the bill was introduced, there was a huge uproar in the Lok Sabha. Opposition MPs opposed this and many MPs reached the Lok Sabha well and started shouting slogans. During this time, some opposition MPs tore the copies of the bill and threw their pieces towards Home Minister Amit Shah.

Proposal to send JPC
While presenting the bill, Amit Shah said that the government proposes to send it to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). Despite this, the opposition strongly opposed. The atmosphere of the House became tense amidst constant slogans and uproar.

Opposition and ruling party face to face
During the introduction of the 130th Amendment Bill of the Constitution, the opposition MPs surrounded the ruling party and tried to turn the Mike of the Home Minister. The ruling party MPs Ravneet Bittu, Kamlesh Paswan, Kiren Rijiju and Satish Gautam defended the Home Minister and tried to stop the opposition MPs.

The slogans started by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs. TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee started raising slogans as soon as the bill was introduced. Congress MP and General Secretary KC Venugopal tore a copy of the bill from his seat and later all the Congress MPs came to Vel. After this, Dharmendra Yadav of Samajwadi Party (SP) also tore the copy and the SP MP also reached the well and started committing uproar. The Home Minister continued to present the bill amidst increasing uproar. During this time, all the opposition MPs came and shouted slogans. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla postponed the proceedings of the House when the situation deteriorated.

Amit Shah’s answer
Amit Shah criticized opposition MP KC Venugopal. He said that when he went to jail in a false case, he resigned from the post on morality and did not take any constitutional post until the court proved him innocent. He lashed out at the opposition and said that we are not so “shameless” that we should remain in office even after the allegations. Shah said that morality and purity is necessary in politics and this is the purpose of this bill.

Bill sent to JPC
Amit Shah proposed to send the bill to the 21 -member Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). This proposal was passed by soundly. After this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that purity and morality is necessary in politics and some bills are brought to strengthen them. Now this bill has been sent to JPC for discussion.

Today (July 21, 2025) during the monsoon session of Parliament, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Executive President J.K. P. Nadda strongly attacked the opposition. He started his talk by wishing the Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge in the Rajya Sabha by wishing him a happy birthday, but after that there was an atmosphere of uproar in the House. As soon as Kharge said that Trump claimed to have an Indo-Pakistan ceasefire 24 times, Nadda retorted fiercely.

Amid the uproar, Nadda targeted the opposition and said, “Logic has its own strength, there is no need to shout.” He made this comment when Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge was discussing the nuances of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and Pahalgam.

Nadda said that all aspects of Operation Sindoor will be brought to the country and the world, but due to security reasons they cannot go into the nuances in the House. He described this campaign as the biggest and influential after independence. Nadda said, “There has been an operation under the leadership of PM Modi which has never been seen after independence.” He also gave a message to the opposition that the government is ready to discuss every issue, provided the opposition is ready for meaningful dialogue.

What did Rajnath Singh say about Operation Sindoor?

During the monsoon session of Parliament, the opposition parties once again created a ruckus over various issues. Amid sloganeering and noise, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh gave a big statement on behalf of the government while handling the situation. Giving a clear message to the opposition, he said that the government is fully committed to the spirit of democratic traditions and dialogue.

He said, “We are ready to discuss. Whatever the subject, the longer you want to discuss, tell, we are ready for discussion.” Rajnath Singh tried to assure the opposition that the government does not want to postpone any issue. He said that if the opposition wants to discuss with positive emotion, then the government is ready to discuss every subject with full patience and seriousness.
