Oracle Layoffs: Recently, American multinational computer technology company Oracle has decided to conduct layoffs on a large scale. This information has been given to the employees through an email. It was told in the email that this decision has been taken due to the needs of the company and changes in the organization. It was also told that today is his last working day. That means no additional time or transition period will be given.

So far, about 12,000 people have been affected by this layoff. According to market analysts’ estimates, this number could reach 20,000 to 30,000. Which is about 18 percent of Oracle’s total 162,000 employees.

Oracle gave instructions to employees after layoffs

The email asked employees to act quickly as their access was likely to be cut off soon. The email first praised his hard work and contribution. However, immediately after this information about the necessary procedures was given.

Employees were told that they were eligible for a severance package. But for this they will have to sign the termination documents through DocuSign. Which were sent to his Oracle email.

Employees got a short window of time

It was also told in the email that his access to computer, email, voicemail and files would soon be closed. This meant that employees only had a short window of time in which to complete all the necessary work.

Increasing pressure on employees after retrenchment

Recently a Reddit post is much discussed on social media. In which a user claiming to be an employee of Oracle is advising the remaining employees not to work too hard to handle the roles vacant after retrenchment.

An employee said that after large-scale layoffs, companies often expect the remaining employees to take on additional responsibilities. Due to this, people come under pressure to work long hours and work beyond their limits. Whereas they usually do not get any extra salary for this.

Oracle’s layoffs affect senior employees

Nina Lewis, who has been working at Oracle for 34 years, has claimed in a post that in the recent layoffs, senior executives and mid-level managers have been specifically targeted.

According to the post, the company gave priority to those employees who had more stock options and equity. With this the company could reduce its long-term financial obligations.
