CBSE 12th Result 2026 Out: CBSE has declared the results of class 12th and with this the market of discussions has also become hot. In the result released on 13 May 2026, this time the total pass percentage has been 85.20%. Which is slightly less than last year’s 88.39%. Many types of claims are being made on social media regarding this decline.

The biggest issue in which on-screen marking i.e. OSM system is being made. People are raising questions whether marks of students have been deducted due to digital checking of copies. Although the board has termed these things as mere rumours, the decline in figures has sparked a debate among parents and students.

Was 12th passing percentage less than OSM?

As soon as the news of decline in passing percentage came after the release of 12th class results, it was claimed on the internet that the new OSM system has created a problem in checking the copies. Some reports said that teachers had difficulty adjusting to this technology, which affected the results. However, CBSE’s examination controller Sanyam Bhardwaj has completely rejected these claims.

The board says that due to on-screen marking, the evaluation of copies has become more transparent and accurate than ever before. According to the board, this technology has not become the reason for reduction in results but has become a means of improving the process. Due to which the scope for human error has been eliminated.

Why did the passing graph fall?

This time the pass percentage has decreased by about 3% compared to the year 2025. Experts believe that this is not directly related to the malfunction of OSM. Rather it may be due to its accuracy. Due to digital evaluation, totaling errors i.e. mistakes in summing of marks have been completely eliminated.

Earlier, students often got more marks by mistake during manual checking. But now the system itself calculates the marks of each question. Apart from this, it is also believed that the level of some papers of 2026 was much more difficult as compared to previous years. Which has pushed the scores of the students down a bit.

This could also be a reason

Strict and accurate checking of copies is also considered to be a major reason. In the OSM system, teachers have a digital track to check every question minutely. Due to which the grace marking given without any reason has reduced.

Even if the pass percentage drops due to this. But the quality of evaluation has improved. Students who want to see their results. They can check their score card by visiting the official portal cbse.gov.in or cbseresults.nic.in.
