Microsoft Outlook Lite App: Microsoft has decided to discontinue its email app Outlook Lite. According to reports, this app will not work properly after May 26, 2026. Although the app will open but its features will stop working. Outlook Lite was launched in the year 2022 especially for Android users whose phones have less storage or where the internet speed is slow.

Why was this decision taken

According to Tech Crunch, Microsoft had already prepared to shut down this app. The company had announced in 2025 itself that Outlook Lite would be removed from the Google Play Store and its downloading was also stopped from October 2025. Now the company wants all users to shift to the main Outlook Mobile app where more features and better support are available.

According to a report by Neowin, it will become almost impossible to use Outlook Lite after May 25, 2026. Users will not be able to access their mailbox and essential features of the app such as navigation and other options will not work. Therefore, existing users are being advised to switch to the new app as soon as possible so that their work is not affected.

The good thing is that this change will keep users’ data safe. Emails, calendars and attachments will not be deleted. Users can easily get all their data back in the new Outlook Mobile app by logging in with their old account.
