India gave a befitting reply to the comments of Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Permanent representative of India at the United Nations, P. Harish said that on the one hand there is India, which is a mature democracy, emerging economy, pluralist and inclusive society, while on the other hand there is Pakistan immersed in bigotry and terrorism, which is constantly taking loans from the International Monetry Fund (IMF).

P. Harish also said that while arguing to promote international peace and security, it is important to understand that there are some basic principles, which should be universally respected, one of them is zero tolerance to terrorism. It is not appropriate for a member of the council to preach by indulging in such conduct, which the international community is not tolerated at all.

What did India say in UNSC about ceasefire case?
Regarding the ceasefire, P. Harish said that after achieving the primary objectives of Operation Sindoor, military activities were directly stopped at Pakistan’s appeal. Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar raised the Kashmir issue during an open debate on maintaining international peace and security in the United Nations Security Council.

Pakistan and Indus water treaty put Pakistan
On the question of Ishaq Dar, Ambassador P. Harish once again clarified that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. He responded to Pakistan and said that India will never accept any attempt to question the sovereignty of the country. Expressing strong opposition to Pakistan’s internationalization of Kashmir issue and mentioning the Indus Water Treaty in the United Nations Security Council, P. Harish said that Pakistan’s double character is condemnable on issues of terrorism and international peace.

India has expressed strong objection to the proposal to present religion or faith as a criteria for representation in the revised United Nations Security Council (UNSC). India clearly stated that such criteria are not corresponding to the long -established principles of regional representation. Countries of G-4 including India have rejected the proposal of reservation of Muslim country in the UN Security Council.

Speaking at the IGN meeting regarding the size and regional representation of the council in the future, India’s permanent representative P. Harish said that by introducing new parameters like religion, the fundamental principles of the council’s representation structure will derail. P. Harish said that the attempt to introduce new parameters such as religion and faith as the basis of representation in the council is completely opposite to regional representation, which has been the accepted basis for representation in the United Nations.

Erdogan advocated giving veto power to an Islamic country
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has advocated giving veto power to an Islamic country in the United Nations Security Council. Pakistan supports strong Islamic representation opposing adding new permanent members. Last year, Pakistan’s former United Nations Envoy Munir Akram stressed that Islamic Ummah would reject any UNSC reform proposal that does not include adequate representation for Muslim -majority countries.

G-4 broke the dream of Islamic representation
There has been a long demand for improvement in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The G-4 countries including India, Brazil, Germany and Japan have broken the dream of the Islamic representation of Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

Permanent representative of India P. Harish said that G-4 countries believe that the number of members of the Security Council should increase and the number of members should be 15 to 25 or 26. The number of permanent members should be increased from 5 to 11. At the same time, the number of temporary members should be increased from 10 to 14 or 15. At the same time, on the basis of religion, China is a leftist country, while 4 permanent members America, Britain, France and Russia are Christian -dominated countries.
