Adopting a tough stance on terrorism, India gave two major blows to Pakistan in recent years. Pakistan claims there is no basis to suspend the treaty

Pakistan’s Commissioner for Indus Waters, Syed Muhammad Mehar Ali Shah, while giving a statement on January 4, said that India’s claim of suspending the Indus Waters Treaty is not valid under international law. According to him, this treaty is fully in force and it cannot be stopped like this.

India’s tough decision after Pahalgam attack

After the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir in April 2025, India had decided to postpone the Indus Water Treaty. In response, Pakistan called it a war-like action, but India clearly said that blood and water cannot flow together.

After seven months, Pakistan has accepted the big truth regarding India’s Operation Sindoor. Pakistan did not ask for mediation
Dar also said that during the conflict in May, Pakistan did not seek help from any country for talks with India. However, he claimed that America and Saudi Arabia themselves wanted to talk to India.

America and Saudi Arabia played role
According to Ishaq Dar, at 8:17 am on May 10, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called him and told him that India is ready to stop the war. Dar said that Pakistan also did not want war. After this, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia contacted him and asked for permission to talk to India. Later, an agreement was reached between the two countries to stop the war.

Claims of shooting down drones and jets, no evidence
Dar claimed that Pakistan intercepted 79 out of 80 Indian drones and seven Indian fighter aircraft were shot down in the aerial conflict on May 7. However, he did not present any evidence in support of these claims.

President Zardari’s statement: ‘Refused to go to the bunker’
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari told that during Operation Sindoor he was advised to hide in the bunker. He said that he refused to accept this advice. In Zardari’s words, ‘If we have to die, we will die here.’ Leaders do not hide in bunkers.

Praising the army and talking about peace
Zardari said that Pakistan wants peace, but is fully prepared for its security. He praised Army Chief General Asim Munir and called it a ‘right reply’ given to India. He also said that resolution of the Kashmir issue is necessary for lasting peace in the region.

Why did Operation Sindoor start?
India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May. This action was taken in response to the Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians were killed. India targeted terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. After this, there was an intense conflict between the two countries for four days, which ended with the decision to stop the war on May 10.

Pakistan has started recovering from the wounds received from Operation Sindoor. This is the reason why Pakistan welcomed UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed at the Noor Khan airbase, which was destroyed by the Indian Air Force during Operation Sindoor (May 7-10). Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi gave a strong message to Pakistan on Friday (03 October). The army chief revealed that in this operation, 9 terrorist hideouts in Pakistan were completely demolished. Training camps, arms supply networks and masterminds were hidden in these locations. He said that more than 100 Pakistani soldiers and a large number of terrorists were killed in this action. He also clarified that India took full accuracy in its attacks and took full care of the citizens not to harm them. General Dwivedi called upon the soldiers to be cautious and ready at all times. Three brave soldiers honored

On this occasion, the army chief honored three brave soldiers- Commandant Prabhakar Singh, Major Ritesh Kumar and Havildar Mohit Gara, who made outstanding contribution to Operation Sindoor. Apart from this, he also visited Bikaner military stations and other advance areas. After meeting the people of the villages along the border, he said, “You are not a common citizen, but soldiers who are equal partners in the security of the country.”

Owaisi also criticized India’s stand towards Pakistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup cricket tournament. He also announced that AIMIM will participate in the local elections coming in Maharashtra.

BRICS should protect multilateral trade system

‘Global South’ means countries often known as developing, less developed or underdeveloped and are mainly located in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar highlighted that trade flow is being affected due to increasing protectionism, duty volatility and non-fee obstacles, so the BRICS should protect the multilateral trade system.

He said that when there is pressure on multilateralism, BRICS stands firmly as a strong voice of logic and creative change. He said in a post on ‘X’, “In a turbulent world, BRICS should strengthen the message of peace establishment, dialogue, diplomacy and international law.”

Strong condemnation of Pahalgam attack in BRICS

He further stated that BRICS should further strengthen its collective call for comprehensive improvement in the major organs of the United Nations, especially the United Nations Security Council. The next stage of BRICS cooperation will be based on technology and innovation.

Jaishankar said that India’s chairmanship in BRICS will focus on sustainable development through food and energy security, climate change and digital changes, startups, innovation and strong development partnership. In a joint statement, the ministers strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 people were killed and many were injured.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif faced a difficult question before attending the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday (26 September 2025). India launched Operation Sindoor

India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May 2025. The move was taken in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, in which 26 innocents were killed.
