Rumors of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s death in jail and not being allowed to meet party supporters and family members are raising questions as to why this is happening to Pakistan’s favorite former cricket star. Actually, behind this is the enmity of Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir. The same Munir, who has become the most powerful personality of Pakistan with the title of Field Marshal.

The enmity between Munir and Imran Khan starts from the year 2019. At that time, the command of Pakistan was in the hands of Imran Khan and Munir was the chief of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. Like the Pakistani Army, the ISI also kept Pakistan at its fingertips. Meanwhile, Imran Khan had removed Asim Munir from the post of ISI chief. This was the first time in the history of ISI that a chief was removed before the end of his tenure.

Bushra Bibi behind the enmity between Imran and Munir?

It is a big secret till date that Imran removed Munir from the post of ISI and made him the commander of Gujranwala Corps. It is said that Imran’s wife Bushra Khan had a big role in this. Actually, ISI used to secretly share some such secrets with Bushra, which even the rulers of Pakistan were not aware of. Bushra was known as a female Sufi saint in Pakistan. In such a situation, Imran considered the information that Bushra shared to be a miracle of his wife’s supernatural (secret) powers. But when the anger erupted, Imran Khan got furious and quickly vented his anger on Munir.

Shahbaz made Munir the army chief

It is said that Munir took a sip of bitterness at that time, but after becoming the Army Chief, he took such revenge on Imran Khan that the people of Pakistan came out on the streets. After winning the elections in the year 2022, Shahbaz Sharif made Asim Munir the army chief just three days before his retirement. What happened next, Munir started taking revenge from Imran Khan.

Asim Munir got Imran arrested in 2023

Munir first sent Imran Khan’s wife Bushra to jail on corruption charges. After this, Imran Khan was also arrested in 2023. This arrest enraged Imran Khan’s supporters and violence spread throughout Pakistan. Imran’s supporters attacked Pakistani army cantonments and officers.

Imran wrote articles against Munir while sitting in jail

Imran did not stop targeting Munir even from behind the bars. While sitting in jail, Imran wrote articles against Munir in newspapers and thought it better to choose death rather than slavery. In such a situation, Munir put Imran under house arrest and stopped him from meeting anyone. In such a situation, his family members and supporters have not been able to meet Imran Khan for many months. Amidst all this, the Afghan media first published the news of the attack on Imran in jail and then published the news of his death.

Jail administration issued statement

The jail administration has issued a statement regarding Imran’s health. It has been said in the statement that Imran Khan’s health is absolutely fine, but his supporters are not ready to accept it. In such a situation, Imran’s sister and other family members have opened a front against Munir and the Pakistani government. In such a situation, an atmosphere of instability may once again prevail in Pakistan in the coming days.

Once again the sound of bullets is echoing near the Durand Line. Taliban fighters are entering the border of Pakistan and attacking military posts. Pakistan has started retaliatory firing, due to which tension between the two countries has increased. This dispute between Afghanistan and Pakistan is not new. This 2640 km long international border, called the Durand Line, has been a cause of conflict between the two countries for decades.

Afghanistan does not recognize this border. According to him, this is a “hypothetical line” i.e. an imaginary border, which was created by the British government for its own interests. The Durand Line is a line drawn in 1893 that forms the border between present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan. It was built by British officer Sir Henry Durand under an agreement with the then Afghan ruler Abdur Rahman Khan. The objective of the British was to create a buffer zone between India (then British India) and Afghanistan so that Russia’s expansionist policy could be stopped. This line passes through Pashtun and Baloch tribal areas, due to which the families of these communities were divided between two countries. This is what makes this border the most controversial.

Why doesn’t Afghanistan agree?

Afghanistan could never officially recognize this line. He says that this is a forcibly imposed border of the colonial period, which was decided without taking the opinion of the local tribes. The Durand Line affected the Pashtun community the most. They had been living in the border areas for centuries, but now their families and tribes were divided between the two countries. According to Afghanistan, the British drew this line according to their political and military needs, and not keeping in mind the interests of the people. This is the reason why even today this border hurts the sentiments of the Afghan people.

Why did tension increase after the arrival of Taliban?

After the Taliban came to power in 2021, Pakistan hoped that a “friendly government” would be formed in Kabul which would recognize the Durand Line, but the opposite happened. The Taliban described this line as a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and accused Pakistan of trying to forcibly determine the border by erecting a fence in this area. Since then, there have been several border clashes between the Taliban and the Pakistani army. Taliban-backed terrorist organization TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan) has also been carrying out attacks in Pakistan, due to which the tension has deepened.

Strength of Taliban and Afghan army

According to the former Vice President of Afghanistan, the Taliban has about 80 thousand fighters, while the Afghan army has 5 to 6 lakh soldiers. Despite this, the Taliban continues to dominate the Afghan army. The strength of Taliban lies in its tribal roots and religious networks. Madrassas, fundamentalist religious organizations and tribal support have strengthened the Taliban at the grassroots level. Apart from this, the secret help of Pakistani Army and ISI has also played a big role in the emergence of Taliban as a military force. This is the reason why now the same Taliban is opening a front against Pakistan.

challenge for pakistan

Pakistan now seems to be trapped in a trap of its own making. The Taliban, which it once nurtured for strategic depth, has now become a threat on its borders. The Taliban not only rejects the Durand Line, but is also trying to increase its religious and political hold in the border areas of Pakistan. Taliban attacks on Pakistani army posts show that this border is no longer just a geographical dispute but has become a security crisis.

Durand Line is the most dangerous border in the world

This 2640 km long line passes through sensitive areas like Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. This is the reason why it is called the most dangerous border in the world. Cross-border attacks, illegal trade and terrorist activities take place here every day. The life of the people living in this area always passes between instability and fear.

Pakistan News: Pakistan is currently stuck in heavy inflation and crisis of debt. The general public is struggling for two times of bread, but the government is making a huge increase in the salary of its ministers and officials. Recently, the cabinet of Pakistan has approved an increase in the salary of ministers, state ministers and advisors up to 188%.

After this decision, now their monthly salary will be 5,19,000 Pakistani rupees. This decision has been taken at a time when Pakistan has received the second installment of debt from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Despite the economic crisis, the leaders are kind

Pakistan’s economy is on the verge of bankruptcy. Inflation has reached record high and foreign exchange reserves are decreasing rapidly. Recently, IMF released $ 1 billion to Pakistan as the second installment of $ 7 billion loan package. But despite this financial help, the priority of the government starts increasing the facilities of its leaders and ministers instead of giving relief to the general public.

Cabinet approves

On Friday, the cabinet of Pakistan gave the green signal to an increase of 188% in the salary of ministers, state ministers and advisors. After this increase, his monthly salary has gone up to 5,19,000 Pakistani rupees. This has happened when the people of Pakistan are badly disturbed by the rising prices of flour, sugar, milk, petrol and electricity. It has also become difficult to meet the basic needs, but the government is busy in providing more facilities to its leaders.

Salary of MPs also increased

This is not the first time that the Government of Pakistan has increased the salary of its officers. Two months ago, the National Assembly Finance Committee had passed a proposal to equalize the salaries of MPs and Senators to the salary of federal secretaries. It was unanimously approved under the chairmanship of Speaker Raja Parvez Ashraf. This clearly shows that the priority of the Government of Pakistan is to provide facilities to its leaders more than helping the general public.

People upset with inflation

The general public of Pakistan is already facing rapid growing inflation. Prices of basic things like flour, pulses, sugar and milk are touching the sky. Petrol and electricity prices are steadily increasing, due to which the economic burden on the common people is increasing. Due to strict conditions of IMF, there is a possibility of heavy tax and inflation and increasing, which can increase the difficulties of the public.

Questions raised on the government

After this decision, serious questions have arisen on the policies of the Government of Pakistan. Is this an attempt to break the terms of IMF? Is the Government of Pakistan only benefiting its leaders instead of giving relief to the general public? These questions have become a matter of concern for the people of Pakistan and international organizations. If Pakistan has to get out of the economic crisis, then it will need to adopt harsh financial discipline, not to take non-essential decisions like increasing the salary of ministers.
