Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif on Saturday (November 1, 2025) once again claimed to have a war on two fronts. This statement of Khawaja Asif has come at a time when Pakistan has recently agreed to a ceasefire after the conflict with Afghanistan last month.

Amid deteriorating relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Khawaja Asif has accused India. He said that India wants Pakistan to remain busy and entangled on both the eastern and western borders. He referred to the recent clashes with Afghanistan on the country’s western border and the conflict with India on the eastern border during Operation Sindoor in May.

Afghanistan works as a proxy for India- Asif

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has earlier also been accusing Afghanistan of acting as a proxy for India. They have even warned that Pakistan may get trapped in a situation of war on two fronts.

While speaking about India, Khawaja Asif said that Delhi has been waging a proxy war against Pakistan since the reign of Ashraf Ghani and now its evidence is being widely accepted. Talking to Geo News, he said that if needed, we will present evidence. India wants Pakistan to remain entangled on both the eastern and western borders.

Ceasefire agreement signed between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Istanbul

Regarding the recent ceasefire with Afghanistan, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif expressed hope that the mediation of Qatar and Turkey will yield positive results. It is noteworthy that after the violent clashes on the Afghan-Pakistan border last month, on Thursday (October 30, 2025), both the countries held peace talks in Istanbul under the mediation of Qatar and Turkey and agreed to maintain the ceasefire. The conflict between these two countries started when Taliban Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttaki was on his visit to India.

Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday (October 31, 2025) expressed displeasure at the Pakistani Army. Pashtun Maulana, while talking about the current stance of Field Marshal Asim Munir’s army regarding Afghanistan, warned that Pakistan cannot afford another war of its own making.

He said, ‘Let us not forget the Bangladesh war of 1971 and the Kargil war of 1999, these are big examples of reckless military operations by the Pakistan Army, which were led by former President and Army Chief Pervez Musharraf and others and which caused huge damage to the country’s global reputation.’

Pak Army should focus on real issues: Rehman

Pashtun Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that instead of unnecessarily fighting on the border, Pakistan Army should focus on real issues like terrorism, economic crisis and stability of governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He criticized the tendency of the army to create fear among the people of the country and said that this is absolutely wrong.

He said that Islam does not like unjust aggression against any Muslim neighbour. He indirectly termed the Pakistani Army’s stance towards Afghanistan as un-Islamic and politically suicidal.

It is being said that this statement given by Pashtun Maulana Fazlur Rehman can prove to be helpful in creating strategic pressure for India. Indian intelligence agencies are considering this as part of a broader psychological response to the Afghan Taliban. Maulana wants to visit India

Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman wishes to visit India. He calls this carrying the message of peace in his own words. This was revealed by MP Kamran Murtaza, a close associate of Maulana, during a TV interview. Murtaza claimed that he had personally delivered Maulana Rehman’s peace message to an Indian diplomat.

The first thing is that Pakistan gives shelter to terrorist organizations and sponsors terrorist activities. Secondly, it is Pakistan’s old habit to blame its neighbors for its internal failures and thirdly, Pakistan is angry that Afghanistan is exercising sovereignty over its territories.

Emphasizing this, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India is fully committed to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Afghanistan.

India gave strong reaction to Pakistan’s allegations

There have been border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan twice in the same week. Pakistan has accused Afghanistan of giving shelter to terrorists. Apart from this, Pakistan has been indirectly blaming India for this conflict. To which now the Indian Foreign Ministry has given a strong reaction. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that it is a long-standing habit of Pakistan to blame its neighbors for its internal failures, especially for promoting and harboring terrorism.

17 people died in Afghanistan-Pakistan clash

Dozens of soldiers and civilians were killed in fresh border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan on Tuesday (October 14, 2025) night. At the same time, the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan said that on Wednesday (October 15, 2025), 17 people were killed and 346 people were injured in the air strikes carried out by the Pakistani Army in Afghanistan.
