After the coup in Bangladesh, Pakistan is kind to the interim government there. Although the general public in Pakistan itself is facing the brunt of inflation, yet the Shahbaz government is continuously exporting ration to Bangladesh and organizations spreading terror against India there. In a recent report it was claimed that Dhaka has become the base of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. However, India is keeping an eye on this entire activity.

Pakistan will give one lakh ton rice to Bangladesh

Pakistan will now export one lakh tonnes of rice to Bangladesh. Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) had issued a tender for this last week. This is the largest consignment of rice sent from Pakistan to Bangladesh so far. In February this year, the first consignment of 50,000 tonnes of rice was exported after both countries started trade at the government level with rice import. A leading rice exporter said it would be good for business if trade with Bangladesh increases as rice exports have declined by 28 per cent in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025-26.

Mohammad Yunus came openly against India

Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus is not leaving any opportunity to provoke India. Recently he handed over the map of Greater Bangladesh to the delegation from Pakistan, Turkey and Canada. In this map many parts of India were shown in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is naming it the so-called Art of Triumph. This was not a display of any kind of art, but was meant to give a signal to international Islamic countries.

During his first visit to China in April this year, Mohammad Yunus had said that 7 north-eastern states of India are cut off from the sea and Bangladesh is the only sea gate in this region. He had invited China to increase economic influence in the region, to which India had lodged a strong objection. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had said that Northeast is the strategic axis of India, which is an important connectivity center for BIMSTEC countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand).

Why is Pakistan kind to Bangladesh?

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and its Field Marshal Asim Munir have been using Bangladesh’s land against India for the past few days, in which Mohammad Yunus is fully helping them. Pakistan seems to be so kind to Bangladesh in its efforts to spread terror in India and destabilize the North-Eastern states.

Due to the cruelty of the Pakistani army, Bangladesh became an independent nation with the help of India, today the rulers of the same Bangladesh are busy in making mistakes with the military commander of Pakistan. Not only this, they are also busy plotting against India. Chairman of Pakistani Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, who is on a visit to Dhaka, has had a special meeting with the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus.

During this, General Mirza encouraged both the countries to support each other. However, it is not clear what kind of support this is, but military implications are being inferred from it. General Mirza is the second highest military commander of Pakistan after Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir.

Pakistan’s eye on India’s sensitive chicken-neck

This meeting is suspicious for India because Yunus has presented a painting to Mirza in which Assam and north-eastern states are shown as part of Bangladesh. There is also news that during his visit to Bangladesh, the Pakistani commander may visit Bangladeshi military bases adjacent to India’s sensitive chicken-neck (Siliguri Corridor).

In fact, after being defeated in Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has now prepared to hatch a conspiracy on the eastern border of India. The special thing is that for the first time after former dictator of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf (2001-08), a four-star general has visited Dhaka.

Pakistan-Bangladesh came closer after the coup

In the 1971 war, India helped in dividing Pakistan into two parts and creating a new country called East Pakistan as Bangladesh. Pakistan and Bangladesh did not have normal relations even decades after the formation of the new country, but after the coup against Sheikh Hasina last year and the formation of Yunus’ interim government, Pakistan and Bangladesh have come very close. Yunus government is being considered anti-India.

In recent times, many Bangladeshi officials including Yunus have made objectionable statements regarding Siliguri Corridor and north-eastern states. In fact, there are some airstrips of the Second World War in the border areas of Bangladesh near the Siliguri Corridor. These airstrips were used by the American Army in operations against Japan in China, but these airstrips have been closed for a long time.

Speculation regarding Bangladesh airstrips

Recently, Bangladesh Army Chief Waqar Zaman also visited the old World War II airstrips near Chicken Neck. In such a situation, there is speculation that Bangladesh is once again preparing to hand over these airstrips to America or Pakistan.

In fact, the interim (Yunus) government of Bangladesh is busy in building closer relations with Pakistan. For the last one year, a contingent of Pakistani Army has been training the Bangladeshi Army. At the same time, the presence of American Special Forces commandos has also been seen in Bangladesh.

Assam Chief Minister’s warning

Although no statement has come out from the Indian side regarding the visit of Pakistani military commander to Bangladesh, but recently Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma had warned in a strong tone about Bangladesh’s Khichdi being close to India’s chicken neck. Sharma had said that two chicken necks of Bangladesh would be broken. He was referring to Chittagong (Chattogram) and Rangpur areas of Bangladesh.

Ever since Sheikh Hasina has been ousted from power in Bangladesh and Mohammad Yunus has become the head of the interim government, Pakistan has been engaged in improving the relationship with her. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy PM Ishaq Dar has also reached Dhaka tour about this. However, in 1971, Pakistan has so much oppression on Bangladeshis that the relationship between the two countries seems to be a distant leper. Ishaq Dar’s Dhaka became insulted when Dar said that the issue of apologizing for the atrocities of 1971 from Bangladesh has been resolved. On this, the special and foreign advisor of Mohammad Yunus immediately said that Ishaq Dar is speaking wrong.

Tauheed Hussain, Foreign Advisor to the Yunus government, said that Ishaq Dar’s claim of resolving issues from 1971 is not good. Both countries will continue to discuss such pending matters in future. Ishaq Dar said after a meeting with Tauheed Hussain that in 1971, the demand for Bangladesh’s formal apology for the atrocities of the Pakistani Army was resolved in 1974 and 2000 itself. However, Tauheed Hussain immediately reacted to this. He said that definitely I do not agree with Dar. If this were the case, problems would have solved.

We raised unresolved issues in the meeting: Foreign Advisor to Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s newspaper ‘Prothom Alo’ wrote that Hussain said, “We have raised unresolved issues, such as forgiveness or regret for 1971, claims on assets and the case of trapped Pakistani citizens.” He said that it would be wrong to expect that the problems of 54 years will be solved in a single day. Nobody expects that we will sit for an hour and solve everything.

Sign on 5 mU between Pakistan-Bangladesh

Mohammad Yunus’s interim government’s foreign advisor said in a press conference, “Both countries have presented their respective status on these issues.” Hussain said that an agreement and five MoUs were signed between the two countries. Hussain said that both countries have agreed that historical issues should be resolved through discussion to carry forward bilateral relations.

PAK Foreign Minister’s visit after a decade

Please tell that a senior minister of Pakistan has reached a tour of Bangladesh after about 13 years. Prior to Ishaq Dar, Hina Rabbani Khar had visited Bangladesh in 2012, but it seems that even though Mohammad Yunus is sitting in power, forgetting the atrocities of 1971 and apologizing for it, Bangladesh will not be disturbed from Pakistan.

Pakistan-bangladesh relations: After a long gap of about 15 years, an important Foreign Office Consultation – FOC is going to be an important Foreign Secretary between Bangladesh and Pakistan. The meeting will be held in Dhaka on Thursday (April 17), which will include Foreign Secretary Ammana Baloch from Pakistan and Jasimuddin, Advisor to the Ministry of External Affairs from Bangladesh. The meeting is taking place at a time when the role of Bangladeshi terrorist organizations has come to light after the violence in Murshidabad, West Bengal. In such a situation, strategic significance for India has increased considerably.

This is the first time since 2010 when the top diplomat officials of both countries will be face to face. Although both sides have not made any special agenda public for the meeting, it is believed that in addition to bilateral relations, issues like shared strategy, trade, security, and transportation can be discussed about India. Apart from this, Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is also going to visit Dhaka in the last week of April, which will be the first visit of a Pakistani Foreign Minister after 2012.

Open paths for Pakistan after the arrival of Yunus government
Under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the Bangladesh government had taken a tough stand for Pakistan for the last 15 years, but the interim government of Mohammad Yunus, who recently to power, has laid a “red carpet” for Pakistan. Its effect is now clearly visible in diplomatic activities. In the last few months, Pakistan Army and ISI officials have also visited Bangladesh, which indicates that Islamabad is trying to strengthen its hold in Dhaka.

ISI and Pakistan’s growing interest
Experts believe that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI is now playing an active role in Bangladesh. The main objective behind this may be to create instability in the eastern border areas of India, establish cyber networks, and support local radical organizations.

Pakistan is also working towards advancing business relations with Bangladesh. However, geographical distance and transport costs are a major obstacle in it. High commissioner Mohammad Iqbal Hussain Khan in Pakistan, Bangladesh, says that if the logistic cost can be cut, then imports from Pakistan can also be higher.

Preparation for direct flight and business agreement
The scheme of direct flights between the two countries is also actively running.
