PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi told in a press conference that for the next season, the board will run the Multan Sultan franchise and the responsibility of running the team will be handed over to the former cricketer. After the conclusion of PSL 2026, the Multan Sultan franchise will be put in the market for sale.

Mohsin Naqvi said, “At present, a team head will be appointed within the next 8-10 days to run the team. This person will be a former cricketer, who will run the Multan Sultans franchise this season.”

The dispute between Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Multan Sultans franchise owner Ali Khan Tareen is continuously increasing. Other franchises are also asking why Multan is being kept out of the process. In such a situation, everything has to be made public.”

‘If this ghosting continues, legal action will be mandatory’

Tareen further warned that if the silence of PSL management continues like this, then they will be forced to take the legal route. He sarcastically said that this matter could have been solved only over tea and biscuits, but ego made it difficult.

PCB preparing to add two new teams

Meanwhile, PCB is preparing to add two new franchises in the league. For this, six cities – Hyderabad, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Rawalpindi have been shortlisted. The new owners will get a chance to buy the team for the next ten years.
