Pakistan cricket team will tour Sri Lanka in January next year. On Tuesday, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board confirmed that the Pakistan team will come to Sri Lanka to play the T20 series in the coming January. The matches of this series will be played on January 7, January 9 and January 11. Sri Lanka and Pakistan have recently played a tri-series, in the final of which the Pakistani team was victorious. All the matches of Pakistan vs Sri Lanka T20 series will be played in Dambulla. The first match will be played on 7 January, the second T20 match on 9 January and the final match of the series on 11 January. Let us tell you that T20 World Cup 2026 is not far away, which will be played during February-March. India and Sri Lanka will be hosting the World Cup together.

This series will be important for the preparation of both the teams for the T20 World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board is expecting about 880 crore Pakistani rupees from its share of revenue from ICC and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) this year. In this, he is expected to get $ 25.9 million i.e. around Rs 770 crore from ICC, while PCB expects Rs 116 crore from the Asia Cup. Apart from this, he is expected to earn 77 lakh Pakistani rupees from organizing other international cricket matches.

The amount received from ICC and ACC is very important for the financial situation of Pakistan cricket. In such a situation, if the Asia Cup is canceled, then the Pakistan Cricket Board would have lost 116 crore Pakistani rupees, but it could have affected other ICC events and other programs.

Asia Cup was to be held in India

The Asia Cup was going to host 2025 to India. After the Pahalgam terror attack and operation vermilion, there was less possibility of a cricket match between India and Pakistan. The news of canceling not only India vs Pakistan but the entire Asia Cup tournament was revealed. But after the Asian Cricket Council meeting, BCCI agreed to organize the Asia Cup to get a neutral venue.
