Pakistan Budget: Pakistan has released its budget on Tuesday, with a total expenditure of 17.57 trillion Pakistani rupees (about $ 62 billion). However, half of the money is going out of the budget of Pakistan, which is already suffering from all the problems like hunger, poverty.

Half of the amount will be lost only to repay the loan

Out of Pakistan’s budget, 46.7 percent part will be left out in the loan compensation. That is, out of about 17.60 lakh crore Pakistani rupees kept for the current financial year, about 8 lakh crore rupees will be lost only to pay interest of loan and fulfill other liabilities.

Out of the budget, out of the amount of 8.945 trillion rupees for repaying the loan, 8.26 percent were also reduced i.e. 739 billion rupees were reduced. However, despite this, Pakistan’s increasing dependence on loan has limited the expenditure for important areas like health, education and development.

Pakistan’s economy relying on debt

It is estimated to cost Rs 7.197 trillion to Rs 7.197 trillion to compensate for Pakistan’s domestically taken, while Rs 1.009 trillion is estimated to be spent in paying foreign loans.

By March 2024, the total debt taken by the government of Pakistan reached 76.01 trillion rupees (US $ 269 billion), which is more than four times in the last ten years. This includes a domestic loan 51.52 trillion rupees and 24.49 trillion rupees foreign liabilities.

Extended by 20 percent on army

This is the matter, how much of the budget will go to repay the loan. After this, most of the remaining money will be spent on the army. After the war with India, Pakistan has started strengthening its strategic power.

Pakistan has increased the defense budget by 20 percent to $ 9 billion (about 2.55 lakh crore Pakistani rupees). Surprisingly, Pakistan has kept health 9.24 thousand crores of Pakistani rupees, which has kept 0.9 percent of GDP and less than 1 percent on GDP on education, which is being criticized a lot.

Pakistan defense budget: Amid tension with India, Pakistan on Tuesday (June 11) increased its defense budget by 20 percent and allocated 2550 billion Pakistani rupees (US $ 9 billion) for FY 2025-26. Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb presented a federal budget of 17,573 billion Pakistani rupees for FY 2025-26 in ‘National Assembly’ (Parliament). He also introduced the budget document as the Finance Bill in the National Assembly. In the budget speech, the minister said that the government has decided to “allocate 2,550 billion Pakistani rupees to protect the country.”

Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb did not give any further information about defense spending, as traditionally the defense budget is not discussed in Parliament. In the current financial year 2024-25, the government allocated Rs 2,122 billion for defense spending, which is 14.98 percent more than Rs 1,804 billion for the financial year 2023-24.

Referring to Pakistan-India struggle
Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb recently mentioned the Pakistan-India struggle, saying, “This budget is being presented in a historic time when the nation has shown unity and determination.” Tension between India and Pakistan increased after the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam. On 7 May, India carried out accurate attacks on the terrorist structure in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor. 9 terrorist bases were targeted in this Hamal, in which more than 100 terrorists died. After this, Pakistan was quite shocked and started efforts to attack from across the border. In retaliation, India had completely destroyed many of their airbase while teaching Pakistan a lesson. India attacked the Bahramos missile and worsened the condition of the Pakistani Airforce. During this time India used a total of 19 Bahramos missiles.

Pakistan defense budget hike: At this time, Pakistan has been exposed to sheltering terrorism all over the world. In the economic survey presented by the Government of Pakistan, it has been revealed that the condition of the neighboring country is getting thinner under Shahbaz’s rule. Inflation is at its peak in Pakistan, but the government there is looting money on weapons instead of spending money on the public.

Pakistan increased defense budget by 20%

Pakistan has increased defense spending by 20 per cent to 2.55 trillion rupees ($ 9 billion) in the budget of 2025-26. Till now Pakistan’s defense budget was 2.12 trillion. The neighboring country has a debt of more than Rs 76 lakh crore i.e. more than 269 billion dollars. One thing is clear from this that the people of Pakistan are in debt, but the government there is shedding money like water on weapons.

Pakistan reduces overall expenses

The Government of Pakistan has cut overall spending for 7 percent for the financial year 2026. For the current financial year, the neighboring country has allocated 2.12 trillion rupees ($ 7.45 billion), including $ 2 billion products and other assets. At the same time, 563 billion rupees ($ 1.99 billion) have been allocated for military pension, which is not counted in the official defense budget.

‘Our duty to increase the capacity of armed forces’

Pakistan Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal confirmed on Saturday (7 June 2025) that the government is planning to increase the defense budget. According to the report of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Ahsan Iqbal said, “It is our national duty to provide whatever the armed forces need in this budget to increase their capacity and protect our country in the future.”

Pakistan spreads hands to seek relief package in front of international organizations as well as allies. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif even said that when we go to a friend country or call, he feels that we have come to him to ask for money. He had also said earlier that small economies have also surpassed Pakistan and we have been wandering with a bowl of begging for the last 75 years.

The Indian Army has given a befitting reply to Pakistan’s attacks. Not only the Pakistani air defense system was wasted HQ-9, but India’s Air Defense System S-400 also blown away all the drones of the Pakistani army. Pakistani experts of S-400 have also become adorned, but they regret that the Pak government will not be able to buy this. He himself has told the status of Pakistan how the Shahbaz Sharif government reaches the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to be begging, so from where will S-400 buy.

Pak expert Qamar Cheema said that India decided to pull Pakistan about Pakistan. Pakistan has to be blown away, they are directly saying. He said that now we have to see how India takes things with us or they have to fight.

Pak expert Qamar Cheema suggested to the Pak government, ‘If you want to fight, then take brother S-400. It is a simple matter. You also need these batteries. Take S-400 not S-500, but the question is where we buy from. We do not have $ 5-6 billion or 10 billion, our total defense budget is $ 11 billion, so where should we take.

Qamar Cheema said where Pakistan has a defense budget of $ 11 billion and where is India’s $ 80 billion defense budget, land-sky difference, then their foreign exchange reserves of $ 650 billion are $ 650 billion. He said that we have some reserve, then we run away to the IMF. We do not have that much money, so then the defense has to be done in other ways. We do not have those resources that India have.

Qamar Cheema said that in 2016, India did not have confidence that he would enter Pakistan and return, but in 2019, two killed and in 2025 attacked eight-nine cities. He said that India says that we do not care about the nuclear threats of Pakistan. We should understand these things. What Indians are doing with us, it seems an important thing that it is not as easy as we understand.

In the year 2018, India had made a deal of $ 5.43 billion i.e. Rs 35,000 crore from Russia to buy five S-400 air defense systems. First of all, this defense system was deployed in Punjab in view of the air threats from Pakistan and China. Three units of this have been deployed, while the remaining two can be deployed by 2026.

The S-400 is capable of attacking with four types of missiles and it can prevent enemy aircraft, drones, cruise missiles and ballistic projections in the air itself. Its advanced radar system can track more than 100 targets in one go. There are reports that India has approached Russia to buy more S-400 and soon it can get more defense system.
