The heavy rains in Pakistan’s Punjab province have engulfed the entire region and there have been flood -like conditions all around. According to the report of the Associated Press, Pakistan is facing the biggest flood in history these days.

Expert says that global warming has worsened the monsoon situation in Pakistan this year, which led to climate change. There have been incidents of sudden floods and landslides in the northern and north-western mountains due to heavy rains and cloudburst.

A total of 33 people died due to rain

According to the ANI report, a total of 33 people have died due to floods and rains in Pakistan’s Punjab province, 2200 villages have been affected and more than 7,00,000 people have been forced to leave the house.

During a press conference on Sunday (August 31, 2025), Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said, ‘This is the biggest flood in the history of Pakistan. 2 million people have been affected by this flood. This is the first time that three rivers Satyuga, Chenab and Ravi have been filled with so much water.

More rainfall than last year

The National Meteorological Center said that Punjab received more than 26.5 percent monsoon rainfall compared to last year between July 1 and August 27. Pakistan’s Disaster Management Authority said that since June 26, 849 people have died and 1,130 people have been injured in rain -related incidents across the country.

Explain that Punjab province with a population of 15 crores is an agricultural sector and it is the major wheat production state of Pakistan. The floods in the year 2022 destroyed large -scale crops in the east and south, due to which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif warned of lack of food grains.

The devastating floods in Pakistan’s Punjab, Sialkot and other areas have disturbed life. So far, more than 800 people have died. More than 12 lakh people are affected. 2.5 lakh people have been displaced. About 1,432 villages have been hit by floods. Crops have been destroyed, business is stalled and thousands of families are forced to live in relief camps. 700 relief and 265 medical camps have been set up by the government, but the situation at the ground level remains very serious.

During the flood -affected Sialkot tour, Defense Minister Khwaja Mohammad Asif made a peculiar statement. According to him, with the flood water released from India, piles of corpses, cattle and debris came to Pakistan. He said that this debris is hindering the relief work of the local administration. Asif further said that Sialkot is located under the waterways released from Jammu and whenever India releases water, there is regular floods. However, Asif also admitted that India had informed Pakistan twice before releasing water in rivers.

Social media ridicule and criticism
Khwaja Asif’s statement became increasingly viral on Pakistani social media. People criticized him and said that the government is accusing India to divert attention from its preparations and the failures of the infrastructure. Many people, while satirizing, wrote that the flood comes from the water and not from the corpses.

Indo-Pak Water Relations and Indus Water Treaty
This dispute has come up at a time when the Indus Water Treaty is already postponed between India and Pakistan. Water data was exchanged under the treaty, but India stopped it after the Pahalgam attack in April 2025. Despite this, India had shared information about bad weather and potential heavy floods to Pakistan in view of public safety.

Historical level flood
According to the Pakistani Irrigation Department, for the first time after 38 years, Ravi, Sutlej and Chenab rivers are in spate together. This has made the rescue work more difficult. In many districts, army and relief workers are campaigning round the clock.

Pakistan’s field marshal Asim Munir and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto keep threatening an attack on India with a nuclear bomb. Despite these threats, India has helped Pakistan for the first time after Operation Sindoor. In fact, floods in Pakistan have caused severe destruction, in which about 500 people have died. Meanwhile, India showed a big heart and informed Pakistan officials about the floods. This is the first time after Operation Sindoor, when there is contact between the officials of the two countries.

For the first time after Operation Sindoor, contact between India-Pak

Pakistan’s media quoted sources that for the first time after the military struggle in May, there has been contact between India and Pakistan. India has contacted Pakistan officials and shared detailed information about the dangers of possible floods.

Warning of flood in Tawi river

According to Pakistan’s Jio TV, India has warned of severe floods in the Tawi river. The Indian High Commission in Islamabad gave this information on 24 August, on the basis of which Pakistan officials issued a flood warning to their people. Please tell that Tawi river enters Punjab from Pakistan to Punjab.

Things worsen after heavy rains in Pakistan

Please tell that there are flood -like conditions due to heavy rains in Pakistan. In the last 24 hours in the state of Punjab, more than 20 thousand people have been evacuated to safe places. The biggest impact of the flood has appeared in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where more than 350 people have died, while more than 500 people have been injured. Apart from this, the risk of diseases caused by water has also increased. So far, more than 15 thousand patients have appeared. NDMA, army and other NGOs are engaged in relief and rescue operations in flood -prone states.

India took strict steps after the Pahalgam terror attack

On April 22 this year, there was a terrorist attack in Pahalgam Valley of Kashmir, in which 26 tourists died. India then took tough measures against Pakistan, including cancellation of the Indus Water Agreement, postponing the visa and closing the Bagha-Attari border. After this, the Indian Army entered Pakistan on the night of 6-7 May and carried out Operation Sindoor. In this air strike, more than 100 terrorists present in Pakistan and PoK were killed, while more than 10 terrorists were destroyed. Since then, the relationship between the two countries deteriorated and then Pakistan started military action against India, in which it had to face.

Monsoon rains in northern Pakistan have caused a sudden havoc. Due to continuous rains, houses, roads and entire villages have been swept away. At least 344 people have been killed in 48 hours from this tragedy. At the same time, the rescue team has to struggle to reach the crashed areas.

According to officials, 344 people were killed in just 48 hours, out of which only 328 deaths occurred in the hill Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, while 120 people were injured. Also, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority has warned that the death toll may increase further, as dozens of people are missing in this disaster.

About 2,000 rescuers deployed in 9 districts

Please tell that Buner district of Pakistan is being considered as the center of disaster, where a total of 184 deaths have occurred. About 2,000 rescuers are deployed in a total of 9 districts, but the rescue campaign is being disrupted due to roads flowing and continuous rains.

Provincial rescue agency spokesman Bilal Ahmed Faizi said, “In most areas, the rescuers are traveling on foot due to road closure.” People who save their lives in disaster told surprising experiences.

The victim told the scene

Azizullah, a resident of Buner, said, “Due to water, the land was shivering loudly and it seemed as if death was standing in front of me.” At the same time, local teacher Saifullah Khan involved in the campaign to remove the dead bodies said, ‘We still do not know who is alive in this small village and who is dead. I am helping to remove the bodies of children I have taught.

Rescue team’s helicopter crash

At the same time, a helicopter running a monsoon -affected rescue operation in northern Pakistan crashed on Friday (August 15, 2025), in which 5 crew members were killed. Chief Minister of Pakhtunkhwa province Ali Amin Gandapur said that this accident has occurred due to bad weather in Pandiali area of Mohammand district.

Flood in pok: Pakistan is scared of India’s action after the Pahalgam terror attack. Pakistan is currently facing many fronts. On one hand, India has taken many tough decisions about Pakistan, while now there is going to be a nature in the neighboring country. Due to heavy rains in Kashmir, the threat of flooding in POK has started looming.

Chenab river increased water level

After heavy rains in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir, the water level of Chenab river has increased on Friday (2 May 2025), causing floods in many areas of Pakistan. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during May 1-6. During this period, there is also a prediction of lightning and strong winds (40-60 km/h).

India left the water of Jhelum river

On the last month (April 26, 2025) from India, water was released into the Jhelum River in Hattin Bala area of Muzaffarabad, Pakistan. Because of this, the Muzaffarabad administration announced a water emergency. Due to release of water in the Jhelum river, there was a fierce flood in Muzaffarabad. The Jhelum river suddenly flooded due to water entering Chakothi from Anantnag district in Uri, causing fear and panic among the local people.

India took many big decisions against Pakistan

After the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken major decisions including suspending the Indus Water Treaty. Pakistan is so scared at this time that it has been singing in front of the United Nations and America to avoid India. India said that by targeting Jammu and Kashmir, the terrorism across the border by Pakistan obstructs India’s rights under the Indus Water Treaty. Under this treaty signed in 1960, Eastern rivers Sutlej, Beas and Ravi were allotted to India and Western rivers Indus, Jhelum and Chenab to Pakistan.
