More rainfall than last year

The National Meteorological Center said that Punjab received more than 26.5 percent monsoon rainfall compared to last year between July 1 and August 27. Pakistan’s Disaster Management Authority said that since June 26, 849 people have died and 1,130 people have been injured in rain -related incidents across the country.

Explain that Punjab province with a population of 15 crores is an agricultural sector and it is the major wheat production state of Pakistan. The floods in the year 2022 destroyed large -scale crops in the east and south, due to which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif warned of lack of food grains.

According to him, with the flood water released from India, piles of corpses, cattle and debris came to Pakistan. He said that this debris is hindering the relief work of the local administration. Asif further said that Sialkot is located under the waterways released from Jammu and whenever India releases water, there is regular floods. However, Asif also admitted that India had informed Pakistan twice before releasing water in rivers.

Khwaja Asif’s statement became increasingly viral on Pakistani social media.
