After a week, Imran Khan’s sisters again sat on a dharna along with thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, to meet their brother. Many party leaders were also seen present with him in this protest that started late at night. This time the sisters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the leaders of PTI are in a mood to fight. He has given a direct ultimatum to the Shahbaz government that if he is not allowed to meet Imran Khan in jail, then this protest will continue. During the dharna, PTI leaders kept raising slogans of independence.

According to Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi, if the Pakistani government had allowed her to meet Imran Khan even for 5 minutes, she would have left comfortably, but she does not know in what condition Imran Khan has been kept and why she is not being allowed to meet him.

What has Shahbaz government been hiding for the last 4 weeks?

Despite the court order, the Shahbaz Sharif government of Pakistan and the Maryam Nawaz government of Pakistani Punjab are not allowing Imran Khan’s sisters to meet former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is lodged in Adiala jail for the last 4 weeks. Last week also, when Imran Khan’s sisters were not allowed to meet him, they sat on a dharna, however, later in the night, Pakistani police beat up Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Khanum Niazi and arrested her.

On Tuesday night, once again Imran Khan’s sisters sat on strike outside the jail. Last time there were around 100 workers with them, this time many leaders are also present at the protest and thousands of workers are protesting after the jail.

Also read- Pakistan again carried out airstrike in Afghanistan, 10 including 9 children died; After all, why did the tension increase between the two countries?

Just a day after the joint statement issued to strengthen bilateral relations between India and Afghanistan, Pakistan has expressed strong objection. Pakistan not only expressed displeasure over some parts of the joint statement, but also reacted sharply to the statements made by Afghanistan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki during his visit to India.

Pakistan expressed objection on the mention of Kashmir

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said that describing Jammu and Kashmir as a part of India in the joint statement is a clear violation of the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. Pakistan has formally expressed its serious objections to both India and Afghanistan on this. Pakistan has also given this objection to the Additional Foreign Secretary (West Asia and Afghanistan).

In an India-Afghanistan joint statement issued on October 10, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had thanked Afghanistan for strongly condemning the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. Both countries condemned all forms of terrorism and stressed the need to enhance peace, stability and mutual trust in the region.

Pakistan enraged by Muttaki’s statements

Apart from the joint statement, Pakistan also objected to the statement of Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in which he had said that terrorism is an internal problem of Pakistan. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said that it had already informed Afghanistan that many terrorist organizations were attacking Pakistan from Afghan soil. The ministry said that the Afghan interim government cannot escape its responsibility by putting the responsibility on Pakistan. It is the responsibility of Afghanistan to maintain peace and stability in the region.

Muttaki held Pakistan responsible

It is noteworthy that just before his visit to India, Muttaki had held Pakistan responsible for the blasts in Afghanistan. He had said, “We consider this action of Pakistan wrong. Problems are not solved like this. We have kept the door of dialogue open. Peace and development have returned to Afghanistan after 40 years.”

Pakistan’s statement on illegal Afghan citizens

Amidst this controversy, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry also said that illegal Afghan citizens cannot be allowed to live in the country. The ministry clarified that it is Pakistan’s right to control the presence of foreign nationals.

This was the first time that the Afghan Foreign Minister visited India after the Taliban came to power in 2021. In New Delhi on Friday, he met Foreign Minister S. Met Jaishankar. During the meeting, Muttaki assured that Afghanistan will not allow its land to be used against any country.

Muttaki said, “I am happy to come to Delhi. This visit will increase understanding and cooperation between India and Afghanistan. Both the countries should further strengthen their relations and dialogue. We will not allow any group to misuse our soil.”

In many cities of Pakistan including Lahore and Islamabad, people are taking to the streets and protesting against the Shahbaz government. To keep the capital of Pakistan safe, internet has been shut down in many cities and lockdown has been imposed. Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) is protesting against the policies of Israel and America.

Violent demonstrations on the streets of Pakistan

TLP workers are moving towards Islamabad in large numbers on the streets. The situation has still not returned to normal in Lahore. A TLP worker and a policeman have died in this violent protest. TLP workers also pelted stones at the police. Police used water cannon and hand grenade to control the situation.

Why is the protest happening?

Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) had announced a protest against Israel outside the US Embassy in Islamabad on Friday (October 10, 2025). After this, the police of Pakistan’s Punjab province raided the TLP headquarters to arrest its chief Saad Hussain Rizvi. The TLP claimed that one of its workers was killed and 20 were injured in the clashes with the police.

Internet service shut down indefinitely

The Shahbaz government has sealed the roads leading to the capital and imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi. The government ordered to shut down mobile internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi indefinitely.

Recently Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif visited America. He supported the 20-point Gaza peace agreement presented by Trump. However, later Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar withdrew from this agreement. He said that the peace plan agreement that was handed over to Trump with Arab countries was different.

Ppp vs government: The controversy has increased once again over the construction of canals on...

Ppp vs government: The controversy has increased once again over the construction of canals on the Indus River in Pakistan. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has announced to organize protest rallies in all districts of Sindh province on 25 March. This protest will be done against the canal construction scheme of the federal government, which the party has termed ‘dictatorship’. The PPP alleged that the federal government is trying to harm the important water sources associated with the Indus River without any constitutional approval.

According to local media reports, PPP-Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro announced this protest during a press conference held in Sindh Assembly campus on Friday (March 21). Khuhro condemned the federal government and said that this step is against the Constitution and democratic principles. He warned the government that if these canal projects were not stopped, the government would be forced to leave the scheme as a result of the PPP protests. Khuhro said, ‘The purpose of our protest is to force the government to withdraw from this controversial scheme.’

PPP protest against canals

Khuhro also said that the people of Sindh and all political parties should join the struggle against the canal project. He said, ‘The united voice of the people of Sindh will affect this issue’. The PPP also made it clear that they are against the canals on the Indus River, but they are in favor of fair and fair delimitation. He says that if these projects are implemented, Sindh province can be deprived of water supply forever because the existence of Sindh is directly connected to the Indus River.

PPP described the Cholistan Canal as a dictatorial step

The PPP leader said that the federal government has started constructing the Cholistan Canal without any constitutional platform approval, which is a dictatorial step. According to Pakistan’s leading newspaper Dawn, the PPP had already rejected the federal government’s plan to build six new canals on the Indus River. After this, many rallies were organized in Sindh earlier this week, in which the protesters protested against the project and warned that the move will have a serious impact on Sindh water.
