Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has prepared a new ‘defense doctrine’ for the security of the Muslim world. Under this doctrine, Pakistan is increasing aggressive defense and strategic partnerships with Muslim countries. This includes big arms deals, sale of fighter aircraft and missiles. India’s defense and intelligence sources have described it as a new principle of ‘defense diplomacy’.

Pakistan’s nuclear umbrella will provide security

According to sources, due to increasing instability in the world, many Muslim countries are looking for security under the nuclear umbrella of Pakistan. Pakistan is the only Islamic country in the world with nuclear weapons. However, so far no deal has been made to transfer or share nuclear weapons with any country. But Pakistan is giving strategic assurance to those countries which are under threat from Israel or any other country.

Pakistan wants to become protector of Muslim countries

Indian security sources say that the Saudi-Pakistan agreement may change the balance of power in the Middle East. Asim Munir is taking this strategy forward rapidly. Pakistan is trying to make itself the ‘protector’ of Muslim countries.

Pakistan gets defense export orders worth $8 billion

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that about 8 Muslim countries have explored the possibility of defense partnership with Islamabad. These countries want to buy arms and military cooperation. Pakistan has secured defense export orders worth $8 billion in the current financial year 2025-26 and aims to sell arms up to $20 billion in the next 3-5 years.

What big deals is Pakistan making with which countries?

Pakistan has signed a strategic military agreement with Saudi Arabia. The deal for the potential JF-17 Thunder fighter plane could be worth $3.7 billion. Saudi Arabia is relying on Pakistan due to regional instability (Yemen, Israel-Palestine, Libya, Sudan etc.) and tensions with UAE. Saudi can call Pakistani army to fight at any time at its behest. Other than this-

Azerbaijan: A deal for 40 JF-17 aircraft worth $4.6 billion has been finalized, which is currently in the delivery stage.

Libya: Arms deals worth $1.25-1.4 billion through UAE banking channels.

Sudan: Arms deal worth $1.1 billion.

Bangladesh: Defense agreement worth about $1 billion, which may include JF-17 and other weapons.

Turkey also wants to join the Saudi-Pakistan agreement. Apart from this, Jordan and Egypt are also showing interest in Pakistani weapons. With these deals, Pakistan is trying to create a NATO-like structure among Muslim countries.

Highlights of JF-17 defense deal

JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft is a joint project of Pakistan and China. It is a light, multi-role fighter jet, which is cheap and easily available. JF-17 is the main attraction in many deals. Missiles, drones, helicopters and air defense systems are also part of these deals.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday (October 03, 2025) claimed that many countries have shown interest in signing a defense agreement with Islamabad and suggested that if more countries are involved in the Saudi-Pakistan mutual defense agreement, it would be formed like NATO.

Addressing Parliament on the issue of recently announced Gaza Shanti Yojana by President Donald Trump, Dar also spoke about the officially signed ‘strategic mutual defense agreement’ with Saudi Arabia on 18 September. He said that many countries, Arabia and non-Arab Islamic nations have shown interest in joining the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

‘Pakistan will lead Islamic world’

Dar said, “Many other countries have shown interest in making a defense agreement with Pakistan and many countries have approached Pakistan during the United Nations General Assembly.” He suggested that if more countries join it, then it will become an alliance like NATO.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that other countries can also be included in this agreement, which will probably be converted into ‘new NATO or eastern NATO’. He expressed confidence that Pakistan would one day lead the Islamic world. He said, ‘Pakistan will lead 57 Islamic countries with the will of God.’

‘Pakistan will try to become economic power’

Dar emphasized that Pakistan is already an atomic and missile power, but now it should also try to become an economic power, which can be achieved only through collective efforts. He said, ‘This is a very important agreement, it was not done without thinking or in a hurry.’

Detailed information about the agreement has not been shared, but a joint statement issued after the signature ceremony states that any attack against any country will be considered an attack against both.

Ishaq Dar said about Pakistani struggle with India

Recalling the four -day struggle with India in May, Dar said that such an attack on Pakistan was considered an attack on Saudi Arabia under the Defense Agreement. The agreement was signed a few days after Israel’s attack on Qatar. The attack on Qatar created a possibility of similar attacks in Arab countries.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif has said that the recently signed strategic mutual defense agreement with Saudi Arabia has now formally given a formal form to the relationship between the two countries. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a strategic mutual defense agreement in Riyadh last week, stating that the attack on any country would be considered an act of attack against both.

Earlier, Asif suggested that Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities could be made available to Riyadh under the new structure. However, in an interview later, the minister denied that the nuclear weapons were part of the agreement and said that they were not on the agenda at all.

Pakistan only nuclear power in Muslim world

According to the news of the ‘Don’ newspaper, during an interview with ‘Jetio’, in response to a question by journalist Mehdi Hasan, Asif said, ‘What happened in Qatar is not a reaction, because it had been negotiating for a long time. So this is no response; Perhaps it must have been a little fast, but that’s all that it was already decided.

Hasan had asked Asif whether this agreement was a response to Israeli bombing on Qatar. Hasan said that Pakistan is the only nuclear power in the Muslim world and Saudi Arabia has shown interest in becoming a second nuclear power. He also told that Asif had earlier said that nuclear weapons are not being considered in this agreement. He asked, ‘Does Saudi Arabia get protection from Pakistan’s nuclear umbrella as per this agreement?’

Formal form given to transactions based relationship

Asif said, ‘Our defense relations with Saudi Arabia have been going on for five-six decades. There was our military presence there, perhaps at the peak, perhaps more than four-five thousand and even today we have military presence. I think we have given a formal form to that relationship, which was earlier some extent transaction based.

Hasan asked, ‘A formal form of nuclear weapons was given with or without nuclear weapons?’ The minister, however, refused to explain this in detail. He said, “I will refrain from explaining in detail, but this is a defense agreement and defense agreements are not usually discussed publicly.”

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif has said that the possibility of other Arab countries to be involved in the mutual defense agreement between his country and Saudi Arabia cannot be ruled out. He said that doors are not closed for such developments.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a ‘strategic mutual defense’ agreement on Wednesday (September 17, 2025), according to which any attack on any of them will be considered as ‘attack against both’. According to a joint statement, the agreement was signed by Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Mohammed bin Salman during a one -day visit to the Gulf of the Pakistani leader on Wednesday.

What did Khwaja Asif say when other Arab countries joined?

The agreement has been reached a few days after the Israeli attack on Hamas leadership in Qatar, which is a major ally of America in the Gulf region. Defense Minister Khwaja Asif and said on a question on the possibility of Arab countries becoming a part of this agreement, “I cannot answer it right now, but I will definitely say that the doors are not closed.”

In an interview to ‘Jio News’, on Tuesday (September 16, 2025), Asif said that he has always advocated an agreement like NATO, as there has been more danger situation for Pakistan. He said, ‘I believe that the countries and people, especially the Muslim population, have a fundamental right to protect their territory and nations together.’

Khwaja Asif said about the rules of the agreement?

He said that there is no such section in this agreement that prevents any other nation from joining or stops Pakistan from making a similar agreement with someone else. He was asked whether Pakistan’s nuclear property would also be available under this agreement, to which Asif said, “The abilities we have will definitely be available under this agreement.”

He said that Pakistan has always provided its nuclear facilities for inspection and never violated. Asked if the other country will be involved in its defense when an attack on one country is attacked, the Defense Minister said, “Yes, of course there is no doubt.”

Pakistan trains Saudi forces

Asif said that this is not an ‘aggressive agreement’, but a defensive system like NATO. He said that Pakistan has been training Saudi forces for a long time and recent developments are only a formal expansion. He said, “If there is an attack, whether it is on Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, we will jointly compete with it.”

Asif said that Pakistan’s big military and air force contingent have been present in Saudi Arabia for decades. He said, ‘I believe that the relationship that (pre -existing) is now further defined and that understanding has been given the form of a defense agreement.’

India committed to ensure broad national security

Reacting to the agreement, India, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal has said that India will study the effects of this agreement on its national security as well as regional and global stability. Jaiswal said that India is committed to protecting its national interests and ensuring widespread national security in all fields.

When Asif was asked whether America was taken into confidence in this matter, he said that he feels that there is no role or justification of any third party. He said, “This agreement will not be a part of any dominance system, but a defensive system.”

Pakistan’s duty to protect Islamic sites

Asif also said that we have no plans to capture or attack anyone’s land, but we cannot be deprived of our fundamental right and we used it yesterday. Protecting holy Islamic sites in Saudi Arabia is an ultimate duty of Pakistan.

On the question of terrorist attacks on security forces, Asif reiterated Pakistan’s claim that Afghan land is being used to spread terrorism in the country. He said, ‘We were entangled in two wars in Afghanistan. On both occasions, America left the region and we are still suffering its consequences, whether it is Taliban, TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan), BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army) or someone else.

Enemy country told Afghanistan

Describing Afghanistan as’ enemy country ‘, Asif said,’ I am completely clear that the Kabul government is not innocent in it. Through these people, they are blackmailing us. When he was asked whether the Arab countries would respond to the aggression of Afghanistan, Asif said that he would not have any objection to it.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a strategic mutual defense agreement on 17 September, under which an attack on either of the two countries would be considered an attack on both. The agreement has created a new stir in regional and global strategic equations including India. Experts believe that this step will strengthen military and political relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, while security challenges for India may also increase.

Saudi Arabia’s ambition and Pakistan’s dependence
According to well-known journalist Brahma Chelani, this agreement is not a symbol of Pakistan’s power, because the country is on the verge of financial crisis, but shows Saudi Arabia’s ambitions. Saudi Arabia wants to strengthen its regional grip using Pakistan’s military and nuclear resources and is also giving a message that it will decide his strategy himself.

Riyadh Knew India would construct the saudi-pakistan mutual defense pact as a directed to its security, Yet it is ahead. The move reflects not Pakistan’s strength – it remains on the brink of bankruptcy – but saudi arabia’s ambitions.

By binding a chronically dependent…

– Dr. Brahma cheellanyy (@chellanyy) September 18, 2025

Political message is hidden behind the decision
Chelani also said that the agreement on Modi’s birthday indicates that Saudi Arabia is carrying forward its political and strategic interests regardless of India’s sensations. India tried to form a strong relationship with Saudi Arabia through growing defense partnership and joint military exercises.

Modi has spent years wooing saudi arabia, upgrading ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership and making repeated visits, including a key trip in April. Yet, on Modi’s Birthday, Crown Prince salman delivered a nasty surprise: a saudi -pakistan mutual defense pact declaring…

Pakistan gets new support
According to expert Michael Kugelman, Pakistan has entered into this agreement with a colleague who is also an important partner of India. After the agreement, Pakistan has got the support of three major powers like China, Türkiye and now Saudi Arabia. However, he believes that this agreement will not prevent India from attacking Pakistan, but Pakistan’s situation has become stronger.

Pakistan has not only inked a new mutual defense pact, it inked it with a close all that’s also a top partner of India’s. This pact would not deter India from Attacking Pakistan. But with 3 key power-china, turkey & now ksa-fitted on pak’s side, pak is in a very good place.

– Michael kugelman (@Michaelkugelman) September 18, 2025

Regional and global strategic impact
The agreement has created new security and diplomatic landscapes for India, America and other global powers. This makes it clear that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan together can affect the regional power balance and use military and political resources for their interests.
