There has been another big stir in Pakistan cricket, Babar Azam has again become the captain of the Test team. Babar is captaining the Pakistan team in the Test series against West Indies, which has started from today i.e. 25th July. He replaced Shan Masood, under whose captaincy the Pakistan team could register only 4 wins in 16 matches. After becoming the captain, Babar said that there is no extra pressure on him.

Before the start of the first Test match against West Indies, Babar Azam said that he is not feeling any pressure after getting the captaincy again. Babar said that his aim is to make the players perform at their best and help the team win.

Babar Azam said, “I have learned a lot from my previous experience as a captain and with the help of that I will try to do better this time. If God blesses me, this time we will be able to take better decisions in the interest of Pakistan than before.”

Talking about Test cricket, under the captaincy of Babar Azam, 20 Test matches have been played so far, in which his team won 10 times, lost 6 matches and four matches were drawn. As captain, Babar Azam scored 1727 runs in 20 test matches, in which 4 centuries and 11 half-centuries came. Recall that in November 2023, Babar Azam had left the captaincy of the Pakistan team.

Pakistan’s Test team is in such a bad condition that it has been able to register only one win in the last 7 series. Even in the World Test Championship, the Pakistan team appears to be lagging behind, which is at the last position in the table of the WTC 2025-27 cycle.

Well, Babar Azam’s first challenge after becoming the captain again is from West Indies. The first test has started and the second test match will be played in Port of Spain from 2nd August.
