A surprising case has come to light in Panipat, Haryana. There has been a stir in the local administration since this matter came to light. Here a young man was fired from his job only because the young man belonged to the Dalit caste. The young man kept pleading that he should be given a job on the basis of his qualifications, but the young man was thrown out of the company. The youth has lodged a complaint regarding the matter. However, this case has once again sparked the debate of merit versus caste.

Babarpur Mandi resident (Rijul Kumar) told that he was selected for the post of HR after an interview in Ila Home Fashion Company located on Panipat GT Road. After selection, Rijul was asked to meet the GM of the company. The young man had gone to meet the GM in his cabin, where the GM asked about the caste of the young man instead of his qualification. After telling his caste, Rijul came home.

‘Fired from job just 2 hours after joining’

After about 2 hours, the company official called Rijul and said, ‘I am sorry, we cannot hire you because you are from the schedule caste.’ This does not come under our policy. Hearing this, the young man lost his senses. On this, the young man told that when he went to the company with his sister to ask the reason for his removal from the job, the young man and his sister were insulted with caste related words. He kept pleading to look at my qualifications and not fire me, but the owner clearly said that we hire based on caste.

‘The owner’s mother also insulted him’

The young man alleges that the company owner’s mother also used casteist words at him and both the brothers and sisters were pushed out of the company. The victim youth reached the police station Sector 13,17 and filed a complaint against the company owner’s mother, GM and HR for insulting them by using caste based words. While giving information on the complaint, the station in-charge said that the matter will be investigated thoroughly and strict action will be taken against the accused.
