Jammu Kashmir Captain Paras Dogra Fight: Paras Dogra has been punished for attacking a player in the final match of Ranji Trophy 2025-26. He will have to pay a fine of 50 percent of the match fee for bad behaviour. Paras is the captain of the Jammu and Kashmir team and he headbutted Karnataka’s KV Anish during the final match. The final match is being played in Hubli (Karnataka).

This incident happened in the first session of the second day in the final match. Paras Dogra retired hurt on the first day of the match. On the second day, Paras came to bat again in the 99th over. Karnataka’s bowlers targeted him with short pitch balls, while the fielders kept sledging him continuously.

The situation appeared to worsen in the 101st over. A ball from Prasidh Krishna hit Dogra’s bat and went towards the boundary. Meanwhile, Captain Dogra had an argument with KV Aneesh, who was present in the field as a substitute fielder. The matter became so heated that Paras Dogra headbutted Anish with his helmet. Mayank Agarwal immediately tried to intervene. After that the umpires also pacified the matter.

Dogra apologized to Anish after the end of the over, but as punishment he will have to pay a fine of 50 percent of the match fee. In this innings, Paras Dogra was out after scoring 70 runs.

In the final match of Ranji Trophy 2025-26, Jammu and Kashmir has scored 527 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in the first innings till the end of the second day’s play. Shubham Pundir has played a century inning of 121 runs in the match. Apart from him, Yaver Hasan contributed 88 runs. Apart from them, captain Paras Dogra scored 70 runs, Abdul Samad scored 61 runs, Kanhaiya Wadhawan also scored 70 runs and till now Sahil Lotra is the fifth batsman from Jammu and Kashmir to score 50+ in an innings.

The final match of Ranji Trophy Elite 2025-26 is being played between Jammu and Kashmir and Karnataka at KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground. The umpire and other fielders ran towards him. Mayank Agarwal also immediately went and stood among them. He was very angry at Paras and scolded him. After this over of famous Krishna, Paras Dogra also apologized to Anish. Karnataka captain Devdutt Padikkal also talked to Dogra about this and explained it to him. Paras Dogra scored 70 runs in the first innings, he was bowled by Shreyas Gopal.

Ranji Trophy final status

In the final which started from 24th February, Jammu and Kashmir won the toss and decided to bat first. Till the time of writing the news, Jammu and Kashmir has scored more than 500 runs after losing 6 wickets. Shubham Pundir scored a century, he scored 121 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 12 fours. Apart from captain Paras Dogra (70), Hasan Khan (88), Abdul Samad (61), and Kanhaiya Wadhawan (57) scored half-centuries. Sahil Lotra has scored a half-century, he is still unbeaten.

Krishna, who is famous for Karnataka, has taken 3 wickets so far. Vidyadhar Patil, Shreyas Gopal and Shikhar Shetty have taken 1-1 wicket.

Mithun Manhas Gave Statement On Jammu and Kashmir Team: When Mithun Manhas, the current President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), joined the management of Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) in the year 2021, he had to set things in order in an organization which was struggling with allegations of mismanagement and corruption. When the Jammu and Kashmir team made it to the Ranji Trophy final for the first time on Wednesday, February 18, Manhas became a little emotional. Manhas told PTI, ‘When I took over as administrator, it was not so easy. The then BCCI Secretary Jai Shah had given me complete freedom and told me to do whatever is necessary to bring the cricket of Jammu and Kashmir back on track. Jammu and Kashmir won by six wickets over two-time former champions Bengal in the second semi-final of Ranji Trophy played in Kalyani.

Mithun Manhas gave statement on reaching the final of Jammu and Kashmir

Mithun Manhas said, ‘I was watching the match on TV. It is a big achievement to defeat the Bengal team having players like Mohammed Shami and Akash Deep. The cricketer in me is emotional because I finished my first-class career there and also worked with the state unit. Talking about the team, Manhas said that they knew that there is no dearth of talent in Jammu and Kashmir, but there is a need for a proper system. He said, ‘I would like to give credit to Brigadier Anil Gupta, who has done a commendable job. When I took over, we organized a talent search competition. Manhas mentioned his colleague in the BCCI sub-committee which was then handling the Jammu and Kashmir cricket administration. He further said, ‘Left arm fast bowler Sunil Kumar is the result of that talent search. Having played in Delhi for almost two decades, I knew what was required to be successful at this level. Our cricket committee did a very good job with honesty and transparency.

Playing for Paras Dogra at the age of 41 is the biggest contribution – Manhas

Veteran Delhi player Mithun Manhas has scored 9714 runs in 157 first-class matches. This committee was formed on the instructions of Jammu and Kashmir High Court due to mismanagement in JKCA. Manhas said that his biggest contribution was perhaps inspiring a domestic legend like Paras Dogra to play as a professional player for the state at the age of 41. Dogra is currently captaining the team whose head coach is former Indian player Ajay Sharma. Manhas said, ‘I have played a lot of cricket with and against Paras. He is a brilliant cricketer and professional player. Paras has played his cricket in Himachal Pradesh, where the conditions are very similar to Jammu and Kashmir. He said, ‘We needed an experienced batsman in the middle order and Paras performed brilliantly.’
