While the monsoon session of Parliament went up for the first week, there was a fierce debate on Operation Sindoor in the second week. On the one hand, the opposition is demanding a discussion about Bihar SIR, on the other hand the government wants to pursue legislative works. The government may insist on passing an important sports bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday (4 August 2025).

These bills listed to pass

In the Lok Sabha, the National Sports Administration Bill has been listed to consider and pass and pass more transparency in the functioning of sports bodies. The Rajya Sabha has listed on Monday to pass the proposal of Home Minister Amit Shah to extend President’s rule in Manipur for six months from August 13. Another Bill listed for consideration and passage in the Lok Sabha is the National Anti -Doping (Amendment) Bill.

India alliance is united on SIR issue

The India alliance is seen united on the issue of SIR. The opposition has alleged about the SIR that the purpose of this exercise of the Election Commission is to remove voters sympathetic to its agenda and promote the possibilities of BJP -led NDA. The Election Commission has said that it will implement this process at the national level, to ensure that only qualified voters are allowed to cast their votes.

‘House cannot debate the functioning of constitutional institution’

The opposition is continuously demonstrating in Parliament due to the government not paying any attention to the demand for discussion on SIR in Parliament, due to which the proceedings have to be postponed again and again. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that taking decisions on the demand of the opposition is the job of the chairman of both houses. Citing a decision, he said that the House cannot debate the functioning of a constitutional institution like Election Commission, which shows that the government rejects the demand of the opposition.

‘Government will try to pass the bill after the uproar’

In this regard, a prominent government official said that if the government’s agenda continues to be interrupted due to disruption in Parliament, it will try to pass its major bills despite the noise. Union Minister Rijiju said on Friday that SIR is part of the work area of the Election Commission. He said, “This is not the first time the Election Commission is doing so.” Whether or not the Parliament can discuss the administrative functions of the Election Commission, it is to decide the chairman as per the rules. “

On the very first day of the monsoon session, Jagdeep Dhankad resigned as Vice President. He had cited poor health behind this and said that I am resigning on medical advice. After this decision, various types of discussions started in the political corridors. Many people saw it associated with the impeachment associated with Justice Yashwant Verma. On the one hand, the entire opposition was attacking the central government, on the other hand there was no response in this matter of Rahul Gandhi.

Talking about the news, senior journalist Adesh Rawal expressed his opinion on this decision. He said that there was no case related to health behind Dhankad Saheb’s resignation. We got a glimpse of this on Friday (25 July 2025), when no one in the House said something about the resignation, which seemed to be in the beginning that this would be a big issue. On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi also performed a small tweet about the resignation. Apart from this, a shocking thing was seen that Rahul Gandhi did not tweet a single tweet on it.

Why did Rahul Gandhi not give any reaction?

He further said that in fact Rahul Gandhi believes that this matter is within the entire government. We do not mean much in that. Rahul Gandhi’s more focus is on the intensive voter revision in Bihar. They are standing on the same from Day One and are raising questions repeatedly and asking questions to the Election Commission every day and going to Parliament.

Dhankhar was ill in December

Adesh Rawal said that it is clear that Dhankhar Saheb’s health is absolutely fine. Nothing has happened to them and is absolutely healthy. If there was an excuse for health, perhaps when that Parliament session started on Monday, he would not have come to the Rajya Sabha on that day. When he was truly ill, he was admitted to AIIMS in December and when the budget session started, he came and said that my health was bad and every day Mamata Banerjee and Sonia Gandhi used to call my wife and ask me.

On the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament, on Monday (July 21, 2025), Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar suddenly resigned from his post. He wrote a letter to President Draupadi Murmu and said that he is resigning with immediate effect, taking care of his health and following the advice of doctors. His term was till August 2027, but leaving the post two years ago is giving rise to many political questions.

Sidds 11 days ago- ‘I will retire in 2027’

Dhankhar’s resignation surprised everyone because at an event on July 10, he himself said that he would complete his term and retire in 2027, but his stand changed in just 11 days and he resigned. Earlier in March, he was once admitted to AIIMS on a complaint of chest pain and his health deteriorated again during a program in Uttarakhand in June.

PM Modi made Vice Presidential candidate

Dhankar was nominated by the NDA government in the year 2022. In the election held on 6 August 2022, he defeated the opposition candidate Margaret Alva by a big margin. He received 528 votes, while Alva was sworn in as the 14th Vice President of the country on 182. 10 August 2022.

The remaining tenure was two years

Dhankhar’s term was till 2027, that is, there was still more than two years left. In such a situation, sudden resignation gave rise to speculation. He thanked the President, Prime Minister and Cabinet citing health reasons in his letter.

Stir in political corridors

After his resignation, the stir in the political corridors has intensified. Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Syed Naseer Hussain said that it is shocking as he was active in Parliament till yesterday evening. At the same time, Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda also questioned that the PMO or BJP leaders neither greeted him nor thank him. This silence indicates a big political developments.

Third person to resign from the post of Vice President

Dhankhar is the third Vice President of India who did not complete his term. Earlier in 1969, VV Giri resigned to contest the presidential election. At the same time, Krishnakant died during his tenure in 2002.

Played the responsibility till the last day

Dhankar, a few hours before the resignation, conducted the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha and also appealed to reduce the political conflict in the House. After his resignation, the question arises whether his health is the real reason or something else is going on behind the curtain?

Also read-

Vice President Dhankar resigns, Pawan Kheda raised questions, said- ‘Sports behind the curtain, BJP under heavy stress …’
