Parma Ekadashi 2026 Date: Parma Ekadashi falling in Adhikamas is considered to have special significance. Like all Ekadashi fasts, this Parama Ekadashi is also dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu. Although a total of 24 Ekadashi fasts are observed throughout the year, but when there is a coincidence of Adhikamas, then a total of 26 Ekadashi fasts are observed. In two additional Ekadashis, Padmini Ekadashi fast is observed in Shukla Paksha of Adhikamas and Parama Ekadashi fast is observed in Krishna Paksha.

Parma Ekadashi is the second and last Ekadashi of Adhikamas. This year there is Adhikamaas in the month of Jyeshtha, due to which according to the Panchang, Parama Ekadashi fast will be observed on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Jyeshtha Adhikamaas. But there is confusion among the people regarding the date. There is confusion in the minds of people whether the fast will be observed on 11th June or 12th June. When is Parama Ekadashi fast (When is Parama Ekadashi 2026)

According to Drik Panchang, fasting on Parma Ekadashi will be valid on Wednesday, June 11, 2026. Ekadashi Tithi will start from 12.57 pm on 10th June and will end at 10.36 pm on 11th June. In such a situation, along with Udayatithi on 11th June, Ekadashi Tithi will be in effect for the whole day, hence, Parama Ekadashi fast will be observed on 11th June only.

Importance of Parma Ekadashi

Parma Ekadashi is the most important Ekadashi of Adhikamas. There is a religious belief that by worshiping Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi and fasting on this day, sins are destroyed. Parma Ekadashi is considered best for attaining ultimate happiness, freedom from sins and attainment of virtues. This Ekadashi is also mentioned in Padma Purana.

Parama Ekadashi Puja Vidhi

On the day of Parma Ekadashi, wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, take a resolution to fast while meditating on Lord Vishnu. Now make preparations for the puja. Establish a post for worship and place the idol or picture of God. Also install a Kalash next to it. Now sit on a seat and start the puja.

First of all, bathe the idol of God and then wear yellow colored clothes and garland and apply sandalwood tilak. Now offer flowers, fruits, offerings, naivedya, basil etc., light the dhur-diya and recite the story. After this, sing the Aarti and with folded hands in front of God, apologize for the mistake made during the puja.
