Cab companies will no longer act arbitrarily in Rajasthan. The Transport Department has implemented new rules regarding this. Gazette notification of Rajasthan Motor Vehicle Aggregator Rules 2025 has been issued. Under this, cab companies, cab drivers and delivery service vehicles will be controlled.

These rules have been made to control the fare policy of cab companies for common passengers and to fix the responsibilities of cab and delivery service companies. In this, those aggregator companies which have more than 25 vehicles will be controlled.

It will be mandatory to register on the portal

According to the information, companies will have to register on the portal created by the Transport Department or the Central Government. Existing and new aggregators will have to obtain a license on the portal. This license will be valid for 5 years. It will be necessary to obtain a license for the aggregator service within 15 days of the issuance of the rules. In the new rules, strict rules will be applicable on drivers. Under this, they will have to compulsorily take 40 hours of training. People convicted or sentenced in any criminal case will not be able to drive a cab. It will be necessary to undergo eye examination, medical checkup and mental status test of the cab driver. Cab companies will be required to follow the rates set by the state government.

Traveling in cabs will become safer under new rules

• With VLTD devices installed in vehicles, the government will get accurate location.
• Panic buttons will be necessary inside the vehicle, this will increase women’s safety.
• If the driver deviates from the prescribed route, the control room will be informed.
• There will be a process to check the correct identity of the driver and police verification on the app.
• The company will have to provide real time information to the police about panic alerts.
• The driver will be taken off route if he commits any criminal activity with the passenger.
• The company will have to keep the app data safe for 3 months to 24 months.
• A clear photograph of each driver must be displayed on the app
• In the app, women passengers will be able to choose a woman driver for themselves.
• If the driver cancels the ride after accepting it, he will be fined 10 percent.
• This fine amount will be maximum Rs 100
• 10 percent fine will also be imposed on valid region cancellation without passenger
• It will be mandatory to install first aid kit and fire extinguisher in the taxi.

Each passenger will be insured for Rs 5 lakh

Now each passenger will have an insurance of Rs 5 lakh while traveling in a cab. Many provisions have also been made in the new rules for the social security of drivers. The driver will have to get health insurance of Rs 5 lakh from the aggregator company. At the same time, term insurance of Rs 10 lakh will also have to be done. It will be mandatory for the companies to pay 80 percent of the fare amount to the driver. Drivers will be able to drive with multiple aggregators.

App will be available in both Hindi and English languages

There will be an option for both passengers and drivers to give feedback on the travel experience in the app. The aggregator app of cab companies can be used in both Hindi and English languages. Strictness will also be taken regarding the drivers that they should not have been wanted or guilty in any criminal case during the last 3 years. Drivers will also be given proper training regarding good behavior with passengers and working of the app. Now that the Transport Department has implemented new rules, it remains to be seen to what extent these rules will be followed on the ground.

According to the Railway Minister, holding areas were built in Surat, Udhna, Patna and New Delhi during the 2024 festive season. War rooms will be set up at large railway stations where officers of all departments will work coordinated in case of congestion. Walky-talkie, announcement system and digital communication equipment will be installed at all heavy crowded stations.

Railway employees will get new uniform and ID card

New uniform and ID cards will be issued for railway employees so that only authorized people can enter the stations. Station directors will be appointed at major stations who will be given financial rights so that they can take immediate decisions.

Station director right to ticket sales control

Station directors will be empowered to control the sales of tickets according to the station’s capacity and available trains. GRP, local police and civil administration will also be included to ensure security at the stations.

Platform ticket will be available only under special circumstances

Taking a lesson from the recent stampede at New Delhi railway station, railway zonal officers have been empowered to control the sale of platform tickets. However, platform tickets will be issued under certain special circumstances to assist the old, uneducated and women passengers.
