Pataudi trophy renamed: India and England’s five -match Test series (Cricket India vs England) is going to start from June 20. Recently, news came that the cricket boards of India and England have decided to change the name of Pataudi Trophy. It was told that the name of the Pataudi Trophy is being changed to Tendulkar-Randerson Trophy. It has now been revealed that the name ‘Pataudi’ has not been completely removed from the India-England series.

According to a report published in Rev Sports, BCCI and ECB officials definitely wanted the name ‘Pataudi’ to be associated with the series. He also wanted to honor the series by naming Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson. Citing a source, it was told that Pataudi Legacy is being insulted, these things are not true.

The report said, “Iftikhar and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi have played for both countries. Mansoor (Tiger Pataudi) has been one of the best captains in India and can never be insulted. He has been attempted to connect this series with both history and present.”

The name of Indian veteran will not be removed

This report claimed that a big announcement can be done in the next few days. It is now almost certain that the name ‘Pataudi’ will be associated with the series, while the trophy will be known by the names of Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson.

Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi also represented India and England. He scored 199 runs in his 6 Test matches. On the other hand, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi played a total of 46 Test matches in his career, in which he scored 2,793 runs. Mansoor was also known as Tiger Pataudi, he also scored 6 centuries and 16 fifty in his career.

Pataudi trophy retire: The Pataudi Trophy has been played between India and England for a long time. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi’s cricket career

Mansoor Ali Khan was the former captain of the Indian cricket team. He represented the Indian team in 46 Test matches between 1961–1975. During this, he scored 2,793 runs in his career, along with 6 centuries and 16 fifty in his career.

The special thing is that Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi played 40 Test matches of his career as captain. Remind you that he had an accident at a very young age, after which his right eye was injured. A few months after this incident, he took the captaincy of the Indian team at the age of just 21.
