There has been a large scale transfer of IAS in Bihar. The notification was issued by the General Administration Department on Thursday (June 18, 2026). According to the list, 21 officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) have been transferred.

Under this order issued under the signature of Government Under Secretary Siddheshwar Chaudhary, District Magistrates (DM) of many important districts including Patna, Nalanda, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Banka, East Champaran, Rohtas and Gopalganj have been changed. There has also been a reshuffle in the responsibilities of secretaries and board chairmen of many major departments.

Anand Kishore got big responsibility

Under the new order, senior IAS officer and Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Chairman Anand Kishore has now been fully posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department. Robert L Chongthu, Principal Secretary, Minority Welfare Department, has been made Principal Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs Department.

Meanwhile, Secretary of General Administration Department, Mohd. Sohail has been given the responsibility of Secretary of Minority Welfare Department, he will also continue to hold the additional charge of Secretary of General Administration Department and Investigation Commissioner. The biggest change has been seen in the capital, where Patna District Magistrate Thiagarajan SM has now been appointed the new chairman of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), along with this he has also got the additional charge of Special Secretary of the Health Department. In his place, Nalanda (Bihar Sharif) District Magistrate Kundan Kumar has been made the new District Magistrate and District Magistrate of Patna.

In the same sequence, Khagaria DM Naveen Kumar has been sent to the post of Special Secretary in the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department, where he will also hold the additional charge of Secretary in-charge (Prohibition), Secretary in-charge (Information and Public Relations Department) and Managing Director (MD) of Bihar State Beverages Corporation Limited.

With this arrangement, officers like Ajay Yadav and Chandrashekhar Singh will be freed from additional charges. Muzaffarpur DM Subrata Kumar Sen has been transferred and made the Managing Director (MD) of Bihar Medical Services and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (BMICL), due to which Amit Kumar Pandey will be relieved of additional charge. Kumar Gaurav, Additional Executive Director of the State Health Committee, has been given the command as the new District Magistrate of Muzaffarpur.

DM of Jehanabad sent to Bhagalpur

Director of Social Security Dharmendra Kumar has been made the Chairman of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited. Health Department’s Special Secretary Chhirid Y Bhutia has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Jehanabad, while the current DM of Jehanabad Alankrita Pandey has been transferred to the post of District Magistrate of Bhagalpur.

Rohtas District Magistrate Udita Singh has now been made the new District Magistrate of Nalanda (Bihar Sharif). East Champaran (Motihari) DM Saurabh Jorwal has been appointed Managing Director (MD) of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, relieving Rahul Kumar of this charge. Now, Agriculture Director Saurabh Suman Yadav has been sent to East Champaran as the new District Magistrate, and the additional charge of the post of Agriculture Director, which fell vacant due to his departure, has been given to Special Secretary of Finance Department, Mukesh Kumar Lal.

Registration Inspector General cum Excise Commissioner Anshul Aggarwal has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Banka district. Sameer Saurabh, Managing Director of Comfed, has been made the new District Magistrate of Gopalganj and Naveen Kumar, Project Director of Bihar Education Project Council, has been made the new District Magistrate of Kishanganj. Director of Primary Education Vikram Virkar will now be the new District Magistrate of Khagaria, while Joint Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Deepak Kumar Mishra has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Rohtas (Sasaram).

Dr. Preeti, DDC, Jehanabad, has been made the Director of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), who has also got the additional charge of Director of Social Security. Apart from this, Chandrima Attri, Officer on Special Duty, Revenue and Land Reforms Department, has been appointed as the new Director of Social Welfare Department.

There is no problem of LPG in Bihar. Such a claim is being made. Meanwhile people are worried. The number for gas is not available before 25 days. On the other hand, black marketing is also causing problems. Amidst all these issues, an initiative has been taken by the DM of Patna to reduce the problem.

Call immediately for complaint

On the instructions of Patna District Magistrate, a helpline has been established at the district level to ensure smooth supply and distribution of domestic gas and its monitoring. Any consumer or general public can give information, complaint or information in this regard on phone number – 0612-2219810 from 9 am to 6 pm. Immediate action will be taken by the district administration.

Supaul DM said- avoid rumors

On the other hand, the district administration has clarified the situation regarding the concern spread among consumers regarding the alleged shortage of LPG in Supaul. The DM has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumours. District Magistrate Sawan Kumar has told LPG consumers that there is no shortage of LPG anywhere in the district. Gas is being provided regularly to all consumers.

Let us tell you that on Wednesday, gas consumers had protested by blocking roads at various places in Supaul against the alleged arbitrariness of gas agencies and problems in the availability of gas. NH was blocked. After this the district administration team is seen in active mode.

The administration says that there is adequate availability of gas in the district and constant monitoring is being done to keep the distribution system smooth. In Munger also, the District Magistrate has appealed to avoid rumors of gas shortage. Let us tell you that there is an atmosphere of chaos in Munger also. There is a long queue at the gas warehouse since four in the morning. The District Magistrate has said that there is sufficient stock of LPG cylinders in the district.
