The timing for children studying up to 8th in all private and government schools of the district including pre-schools, Anganwadi centers of Patna has been changed from 8.30 am. Classes will now continue till 4.00 pm. The new timing has been implemented from Thursday, December 11, which will currently continue till next Thursday, December 18.

Also, it is written on the post, “In view of the possibility of adverse impact on the health and life of children due to extreme cold weather and low temperature conditions in the district, the District Magistrate, Patna has suspended the educational activities up to class 8 in all private and government schools of the district including pre-school, Anganwadi centers from 11.12.2025 to 18.12.2025 from 08.30 AM to 04:00 PM. “Instructions have been given to operate only between 10:00 and 15:00.”

Cold is now slowly showing its effect in Bihar. There is chill due to falling temperature in the morning and evening. In most parts of Bihar including Patna, the minimum temperature has reached 9 to 14 degrees, while the average maximum temperature is 24 to 28 degrees.

The Meteorological Department says that there may be fog in the night and morning in Patna, West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Aurangabad and Jamui. To make the land related records modern and accurate in Bihar, the state government is continuously doing special land survey work. In this series, Deputy Chief Minister cum Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha held a high-level review meeting in his Patna office on Monday.

In the meeting, Vijay Kumar Sinha took detailed information about the progress of the survey work going on in all the districts and gave clear instructions that this entire work should be completed within the stipulated time limit.

Bihar is conducting special land survey in two phases

Vijay Sinha told that special land survey is going on in two phases in Bihar. The first phase started from September 2020, under which survey work is going on in 5,657 Mauzas in 89 circles of 20 districts. He said that in this phase, survey of 961 villages has been completed so far and the final rights records of these villages have also been published. In the remaining villages, work is in the final stages and is progressing rapidly. After this, the second phase was started from August 2024, in which a special survey is being conducted in 37,384 villages in 448 zones of 18 districts.

List of 10 Panchayats should be prepared in every district – Deputy Chief Minister

Comparing both the phases, the Deputy Chief Minister said that many districts have performed well, but there is a need to increase the pace in some places. In the meeting, he also instructed the officials to prepare a list of those 10 panchayats in every district where progress is the slowest. Keeping special monitoring on these Panchayats, additional resources and personnel should be deployed there, so that the work can be expedited. He said that accurate and transparent survey of land related records is the top priority of the government, because this will reduce land disputes in future and people will easily get accurate records.

Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in the survey

Vijay Sinha warned the officials that any kind of negligence in the survey will not be tolerated. He said that this project is directly related to the public interest and it is his personal responsibility to get it completed properly and on time. In the meeting, Principal Secretary of Revenue Department CK Anil, Director of Land Records and Measurement Directorate J. Priyadarshini and other senior officers of the department were present. All the officers presented the progress reports of their respective districts and discussed the further action plan.

The government hopes that within the stipulated time frame the entire state will be connected to modern land records, which will provide great convenience to the citizens and the administrative work will also become more transparent and simple.

At present, discussions about turmoil and manipulation are intense in the politics of Bihar. In this series, AIMIM State President and MLA Akhtarul Iman on Tuesday gave a strict warning to RJD and Congress and said that no attempt should be made to break the MLAs of his party. He clearly said that this is no longer a ‘first-time situation’ and AIMIM today is stronger than ever.

While talking to journalists, Akhtarul Iman alleged that five MLAs of the party had won in the last assembly elections, but RJD had defected to four of them and included them in its camp. He asked sarcastically whether an attempt was being made to repeat the same story this time too.

JDU trying to woo AIMIM MLAs

Iman said in a warning tone that do not try to look towards our house. AIMIM is now stronger than before and it is not easy to break any of our MLAs.

Continuing his attack on RJD and Congress, Iman said that AIMIM had earlier offered cooperation to both the parties, but they rejected it. Now the same parties are trying to preach, while they are not even able to handle their situation properly. He claimed that four Congress MLAs themselves are angry and in such a situation, Congress should pay attention to its own situation before commenting on others.

RJD did not consider their demands for conditions

Iman also reminded that during the assembly elections, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had talked about supporting RJD, but RJD did not consider his conditions and demands. According to Iman, today the same parties are spreading unnecessary speculations about AIMIM MLAs.

Sajja Murthy (aged about 52 years), an engineer cum contractor from Andhra Pradesh, died in Patna last Wednesday (November 26, 2025). The incident took place at Rainbow Ground adjacent to Pataliputra Sports Complex in Kankarbagh. On Wednesday morning around 3.30-4.00 am, the iron gate located at the rear of Rainbow Maidan fell, due to which Sajja Murthy got hit and died on the spot.

When people came to know about the incident in the morning, the police arrived. The police sent the engineer’s body for post-mortem. His family members were informed. In this whole matter, Ravi Shankar Singh, the owner of the house in front of the incident site, said, “In the morning we saw the gate falling. The contractor was crushed to death in it.” He also told that the incident has been captured in the CCTV camera installed in his house.

Sajja Murthy was living in the sports complex itself.

Actually, construction work is going on in Rainbow Maidan. To get this done, engineer cum contractor Sajja Murthy, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, was staying in the boys hostel of Sports Complex for about a month. A truck loaded with ballast had arrived early on Wednesday. After unloading, the driver drove away with the vehicle. After this Sajja Murthy locked the gate. As soon as he started leaving after locking it, a part of the gate fell on him, crushing him to death. Although the truck had left from there. No one saw this incident. It is believed that if someone had noticed on time, perhaps life could have been saved.

In this case, Kankarbagh Police Station Head said that when the local people went out for a walk in the morning, they saw that a person was buried under the iron gate. They informed. When the police reached the spot, the person was dead. The police received information about this at around eight in the morning. It is being told that there was already a defect in the iron gate. It was not installed properly.

Women voted enthusiastically

According to Election Commission data, women voted more than men. The voting percentage of women was more than 71 percent, while among men it was 62.9 percent. In seven districts, women voted 14 percentage points more and in 10 other districts this difference was more than 10 points. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders cited this as the reason for the alliance’s decisive advance.

Senior NDA officials attributed the “women mandate” to Nitish’s welfare rule. This included everything from the 2016 prohibition policy (which received widespread support from women affected by alcohol-induced domestic violence) to large-scale economic assistance schemes given before the elections.

The previous NDA government had given Rs 10,000 each to over 1.21 crore ‘Jeevika Didis’ to start micro businesses and had promised additional assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh for their ventures.

Benefit from ‘Jeevika Didi’ project

The government was running the World Bank-assisted project ‘JEEVIKA’ through an autonomous body, Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society (BRLPS), which aims at social and economic empowerment of the rural poor. The women associated with this project are called ‘Jeevika Didi’.

In a state that often grapples with caste divisions, JDU leaders said women had emerged as a voter category that overcame many obstacles. They became the demographic group that reshaped the election results and strengthened the foundation for Nitish Kumar’s return to power.
