A big update has come out on Patna University Students Union elections. Within a few hours, Patna University has withdrawn its decision to cancel the student union elections. Now student union elections will be held on 28th February only.

In fact, today on Saturday (February 21) evening, citing various reasons, Patna University had issued a notification that the student union elections are postponed till further orders. However, after this, hundreds of students from many student organizations reached Patna University and started creating ruckus.

University reversed its decision after student protest

After the uproar by the students, the university employees were shocked and immediately Dean of Student Welfare (DSW) of Patna University, Yogesh Kumar arrived and wrote with his own hand that in view of the circumstances, the student union elections would be held on 28th February, after which the students calmed down.

The notification for postponing the elections was issued by Yogesh Kumar himself, but in view of the situation, the DSW has taken this decision in a hurry.

Misbehavior was cited by the students

Let us tell you, according to the notification issued by the university in the evening, many such incidents took place in the campus in the past which challenged the election code of conduct and academic discipline. It was told that a group of students entered the Patna Women’s College campus without permission and raised slogans. The university administration has considered this as serious indiscipline. Along with this, the use of printed banners and posters, campaigning through expensive four-wheelers, and starting the election campaign before the scheduled time were also recorded as violations of the code of conduct.

The matter was not limited to this. Today, on February 21, the incident of some students entering a classroom in Patna’s Science College and behaving indecently with teachers and university officials forced the administration to take strict action.

‘It was not possible to conduct fair elections’

The university administration says that it was not possible to conduct fair and peaceful elections under such circumstances. In the letter issued by the university, it is clearly written that the student union elections are postponed till further orders.

The student union elections of Patna University in Bihar have been postponed with immediate effect. Voting for the elections was to be held on February 28, but now the elections have been suspended till further orders. A press release has been issued by Patna University regarding this.

Premature promotion

The election code of conduct was violated in such a way that printed banners and posters were used in the college premises. Expensive four-wheelers were used and the election campaign was started even before the scheduled time period. Angered by this, Patna University has postponed the student union elections.
