Actor couple Rajkumar Rao and Patralekhaa are going to welcome their first child soon. This Diwali-Dhanteras has become even more special for mother-to-be Patralekha.

Double celebration with the joy of baby arrival and new films.
Smiling, he said, “We are very excited. First of all, the baby is about to arrive, and also professionally, our first production film is going to be released in a few months. The editing of our second film is also going on. So a lot is happening at once, and this is a very exciting phase for us.”

Talking about her pregnancy journey, Patralekha says, “My pregnancy has been the biggest happiness of this year for me. It is a very different and unique journey. It is also difficult, because there are a lot of changes physically. The body changes completely in 9 months. Sometimes it also makes you a little emotional, because you know that now a new member is coming to your family.”

Pregnancy has changed me from within
She is now in her last trimester and says that she is feeling a lot of changes in herself. The actress said, “I feel I am no longer the same person I was last year. Every day feels something new. The baby hasn’t arrived yet, but still a lot is changing. No one can prepare you for this experience. It can only be understood by living it yourself.”

She tells. When told that this is her and Rajkummar’s last Diwali when they are just two people, she immediately smiles and says, “I don’t feel like we are just two people anymore, because the child is with us and is just about to arrive.”

Talking about her Diwali rituals, she says with a smile, “Raj and I are both very spiritual. Since our marriage, we do Diwali puja every year, without any gap. Raj loves his temple very much and loves to sit there and meditate. He himself cleans the temple. Sometimes Pandit ji comes and sometimes Raj does the puja himself.”

Got emotional remembering childhood Diwali
While talking about Diwali, Patralekha gets lost in her childhood memories. She says, “I am a resident of Shillong. My parents had a very close group of friends. About eight couples, whose children were also our good friends. A few days before Diwali, we all used to party every evening and had a lot of fun till Diwali arrived. That tradition still continues in Shillong. Many of my friends still return there to celebrate Diwali. But this time I could not go, and I am missing it a lot.”

Diwali is not just a festival, it is a feeling of new beginning.
Patralekha says that Diwali has always been a part of her life. “For as long as I can remember, Diwali has always been celebrated with friends and family. For me, it is not just a festival but a symbol of a kind of cleansing. You clean not only the house but also the mind, leaving behind the old and making room for new beginnings.’uc
