For the first time in history, Japan has exported its indigenously made Patriot missile interceptor to America. Their number has not been disclosed at present. This step is considered not just a military deal, but a major change in Japan’s decades-old defense policy. Japanese media has claimed quoting defense sources.

According to Kyodo News Agency, this export has become possible under the new rules which Japan implemented in December 2023. These rules partially relaxed many restrictions on arms export. With this, Japan can now send complete weapon systems to licensed countries. Before this, Japan could only sell parts.

capable of teaching a lesson to enemies

These missiles sent to America are Patriot PAC-3 interceptors. It is capable of destroying enemy weapons like ballistic and cruise missiles in the air itself. This missile system is manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan under American license.

Japan says that this export is to fill the stock of America’s army. In the last few years, due to Ukraine conflict, America has been continuously providing missile support to its allies. The pressure on its reserves is increasing. In this background, Japanese supplies will help strengthen American defense preparedness.

America will not be able to send these missiles to third countries

The Japanese government has also clarified that these missiles are only for America’s use. Washington will not send them to any third country. This decision is important because the people of Japan and its politics have been very sensitive about arms export for a long time.

After World War I, Japan adopted a “defense only” policy, under which the export of weapons abroad was almost completely prohibited. Therefore this deal became possible after a lot of political discussion.

Debate on changing policy intensifies in Japan

This policy change has also intensified the debate within Japan. Supporters say that Japan will have to strengthen its role amidst the changing security environment, China’s increasing military activities, North Korea’s continuous missile tests and instability in the Asia-Pacific region. According to him, sending missiles to America makes the Japan-America security partnership more reliable. Strengthens the joint defense strategy of both the countries.

Opponents argue that this move could unnecessarily involve Japan in international conflicts. Could weaken its identity as a “peaceful nation”. He says that even though the missiles are not being sent for direct use in war, this start can open the way for export of bigger weapons in future, which is contrary to the traditional policies of the country.

Despite this, the government believes that this change is the need of the hour in view of the current global security situation. For Japan, this is not just the expansion of the defense industry but also an effort to strengthen its strategic position.

The US has intensified its military preparations to prepare for possible conflict with China. The Pentagon has asked the missile manufacturers of the country to double the production of 12 important weapons systems. Along with this, China has increased strictness on smuggling of its strategic mineral material, which is used in defense equipment manufacturing.

Target to increase the production of Pentagon
The Pentagon has formed the Municipal Acceleration Council to increase production. Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Fineberg is regularly discussing strategy to increase production by contacting heads of companies. Under this scheme, in the next 6, 18 and 24 months, a target is to increase the production of arms 2.5 times the current quantity.

Major weapons in focus
Production-enhancing weapons include Patriot Interceptor, Long Range Anti-Ship Missile, Standard Missile-6, Procession Strike Missile and Joint Air-Surface Standoff Missiles. Pentagon is aiming to produce around 2,000 units annually for the Patriot missile, which is about four times more than the current rate.

Financial and supply challenges
Companies need additional funds and pentagon procurement commitment to increase production. The time and cost of making missiles is very high, the qualification process for new supply companies can take several months and millions of dollars.

China’s security link
Meanwhile, China has increased strict surveillance by foreign countries to prevent strategic minerals like antimony. Recently, eight suspects were arrested, who are accused of sending the mineral abroad illegally. Antimony is widely used in high -performing arms systems and defense equipment.

Global strategic stress
China banned the export of Gallium, Germanium and Antimony to the US in December 2024, which has increased the prices of these materials in the international market. The initiative to increase the production of the Pentagon and the strict monitoring of China can increase the global defense and pressure on the mineral supply chain.

Trump and putin phone call: US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was very unhappy with the telephone conversation on the Ukraine war with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump alleged that Putin bus wants to keep killing people and is not ready to stop war.

Talking to reporters, Trump said, ‘This situation is very difficult. I talked to Putin, but he still does not want to retreat from the war. Just wants to kill people, it is not right.

You can impose and strict restrictions on Russia
Trump also indicated that he was considering stringent sanctions against Russia, which he had postponed for the last six months to celebrate Putin. He said, we talk about restrictions and he (Putin) understands that now it can be applicable.

Trump and Zelansky also interacted
Along with this, Trump had a strategic conversation with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelanski on Friday. In the conversation, the two leaders agreed to strengthen Ukraine’s aerial security amid the increasing concern about military help from the US. According to Zelansky, the decision was taken after Russia’s largest drone and missile attack.

Trump also talked to German Chancellor
Trump said that he also held a separate conversation with German Chancellor Frederick Mars, in which he was discussed on sending the Patriot Interceptor missiles to Ukraine, although he has not taken any final decision so far. Trump said that Mars feels that Ukraine is necessary.

Russia attacked Ukraine again
US President Donald Trump expressed disappointment over a recent phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin with a view to ending the war. After this, Russia launched Ukraine’s biggest aerial attack so far. According to Ukraine’s air defense system, Russia fired a total of 550 drones and missiles in more than 11 hours long attacks, which were mostly targeted. It was reported that 478 air goals were successfully killed.

Putin and Trump Phone Call: The diplomatic stirring over the Ukraine war between Russia and the US has once again intensified. An hour -long phone call was made between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on Thursday. During this, Putin clearly said that Russia will not back down from its goal in Ukraine, but he is ready to continue the conversation. This talks took place at a time when the US has suddenly banned the supply of arms being given to Ukraine.

Russia’s clear message- will not back down from its goal
According to Kremlin, Putin said on the phone that Russia will achieve its declared strategic goals in Ukraine under any circumstances. His gesture was towards the root causes, due to which this war started. Putin said- Russia will not back down from its objectives, but we are ready for talks.

Putin’s assistant Yuri Ushakov said that there was a conversation between the two leaders for 1 hour. In addition to talks with Russia and Ukraine, there was talk on Iran and Israeli issues. According to the report published in Reuters, the two leaders kept talking on solution about Ukraine. Trump raised the issue of stopping the Ukraine struggle rapidly. So Putin also expressed his intention to find solutions through talks.

Emphasis on diplomacy
During the conversation, Putin also discussed the increasing tension in the Middle East and Iran and said that all controversies should be resolved only by diplomatic and political methods. He emphasized that dialogue and solution should be given priority instead of war.

America suddenly stopped arms supply
The Trump administration stopped the supply of artillery and air security systems to Ukraine earlier this week. It includes 155mm Artillery Shell and Patriot missile system. The US says that this step has been taken after reviewing their decreasing arms reserves.
