Jana Sena Party said in a statement issued on Twitter that Pawan Kalyan was found to have serious rotator cuff injuries in both his shoulders, due to which surgery was done on his right shoulder first. This operation lasted for about three and a half hours.

According to the party, Pawan Kalyan first suffered this injury in 2016. After this, this problem became more serious due to supporters repeatedly holding and pulling his hand in political rallies from Porata Yatra to the recent election campaign.

The statement also said that after recent examination, doctors had advised immediate surgery. However, Pawan Kalyan decided to undergo the operation only after completing his pre-determined government programs.

Second shoulder surgery will be done after two months
Keeping in mind the pain and discomfort after the operation, doctors advised not to do surgery on both shoulders simultaneously. For this reason, only his right shoulder was operated on. Earlier on Friday, all his necessary medical examinations were completed. According to doctors, the surgery on the left shoulder will be done after about two months.

The injury occurred 10 years ago
Jana Sena Party said that Pawan Kalyan was living with this injury for about 10 years and despite repeated advice of doctors to take rest, he continued to fulfill his political responsibilities. According to the party, even after suffering a shoulder injury in 2016, he did not stop participating in public meetings. His troubles increased further during the 2018 Porata Yatra.

The party said that during the medical examination conducted before the nose surgery in April, the true seriousness of Pawan Kalyan’s shoulder injury came to light. During the examination, doctors confirmed serious injury in the rotator cuff of both the shoulders. After this the doctors advised to undergo surgery as soon as possible. A few weeks ago, he was re-examined in Mumbai, after which an operation was performed on his right shoulder.
