In the Panchayati Raj Empowerment Conference of Congress held at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra fiercely attacked the big government. He said that if Panchayati Raj elections are not announced during the assembly session, then he himself and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie will go on a fast unto death. During this, Dotasara took a dig at BJP leader Rajendra Rathore regarding Panchayati Raj delimitation.

Regarding Panchayat elections in the state, Dotasara has also demanded the BJP government to conduct them soon. He alleged that the villages were not getting money for development. It is believed that conflict between the party and the opposition may increase regarding this issue.

There was conflict between Dotasara and Rathore earlier also.

Even before this, there was a war of words between Dotasara and Rathod. Once again Govind Singh Dotasara targeted Rathore, he said that the Chairman of the Delimitation Committee is the Panchayati Raj Minister, but he also had to join the hands of the Chief Minister to get the delimitation of a Panchayat done. Apart from Rajendra Rathore and Arun Chaturvedi, Ghanshyam Tiwari is also there in the delimitation. I thank Tiwari ji from this platform. He said in the first meeting itself that you have lost an election, do not delimitate on the basis of caste in this manner. To which Dotasara quipped that Rathore Saheb replied that I am already a loser and now I am trying to make others like me.

Demand for early Panchayat elections

Regarding Panchayati Raj elections, Dotasara said that the government will have to conduct elections soon, the work in the Panchayats has come to a complete standstill, the government has failed and is not getting money for the development of the villages. The government is not listening to the public representatives.

These days, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress is seen fighting on the streets, whether it is the issue related to Aravalli or the matter of changing the name of MNREGA. On every front, protests are being organized across the state under the leadership of PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasara.

Earlier, Congress workers had staged protests regarding SIR from booth to district level. Now this matter was also discussed in the meeting of Congress Working Committee. The leadership of PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasara was appreciated in the CWC meeting. The Congress high command appeared happy with his working style.

Dotasara praised in Delhi CWC meeting

In the CWC meeting, the work of State Congress Committee State President Govind Singh Dotasara was appreciated. In the program of Congress Foundation Day at PCC headquarters, former Assembly Speaker CP Joshi said that in the CWC meeting held in Delhi, the work being done in the state under the leadership of Dotasara ji has been praised, which is a matter of pride for all of us. He said that we have to keep fighting against the anti-people policies of the government. Only then can democracy be saved in the country.

The stir regarding the appointment of new district presidents under the organization creation campaign in Rajasthan Congress has intensified. In several rounds of meetings held in Delhi on Wednesday, discussions were held with senior leaders on the basis of the observers’ report. According to sources, new district presidents are to be appointed in 50 districts of the state, out of which the discussion on the names of 48 districts has been completed, while the decisions of Bandra and Jhalawar districts have been postponed due to the by-elections.

This organization creation campaign is being considered as the dream project of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Under this, the process of giving a new shape to the organization is going on at the district and block level. However, meanwhile, reports of factionalism in the party have emerged. Some leaders are accused of calling observers and recommending the names of their supporters.

It will be decided who will join the organization and who will not – Ashok Gehlot

Amidst these recommendations and pressures, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has broken his silence on this entire controversy and given a clear message to the leaders. He said that it is only the high command who decides who will become the district president and who will not. There is no need for any leader to do Panchayati. Gehlot further said that if anyone has to give any suggestion, he can present his views directly to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge or Rahul Gandhi, and not put pressure on the observers.

Gehlot also advised the leaders that transparency will be maintained in the selection process and whatever names will be selected, everyone should welcome them. He said that if we want to work with a true heart then we will have to respect the decision of the high command.

Many meanings are being made out of this statement of Gehlot in political circles. There was discussion within the party that some senior leaders are active in making people from their group the district president and are personally contacting the observers. There was resentment among other party leaders due to this.

Gehlot did not attend the meeting in Delhi

According to sources, Ashok Gehlot was called for an important meeting to be held in Delhi, but by not attending the meeting he indicated that he was keeping himself away from the selection process of district presidents. Gehlot clarified that he has no interference in this process and the final decision will be taken only by the high command.

In the meeting held in Delhi, Organization General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, Rajasthan Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara, in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie were present. One-to-one discussions were held with all these leaders on the possible names of district presidents.

Sources say that in some districts, existing district presidents may get a second chance, while in two to three districts, women leaders can also be made district presidents. At the same time, many MPs, MLAs, former MLAs and former ministers are also said to be included in the probable list.

The Congress high command has now entered the next phase of the organization creation campaign. It is expected that the names of the district presidents will be formally announced by the end of this month or in the first week of November.
