8th Pay Commission Latest Update: Now the work regarding the 8th Pay Commission is no longer limited to papers only. Rather, it is being taken forward at the grassroots level also. Commission teams are visiting different states. Also, direct talks are going on with employee organizations and unions. Due to which efforts are being made to understand their demands and suggestions properly.

This entire process will affect about 45 lakh central government employees and 60 lakh pensioners. For this reason, the Commission is moving rapidly towards preparing the report keeping every aspect in mind. Let us know about this.

Meetings being held in different cities

The 8th Pay Commission has recently held talks with the employee organizations of Uttarakhand. Now the schedule of further meetings has also been decided. The meeting is going to be held in Delhi between 28th and 30th April. In May, the Commission team will also meet other organizations of Pune and Maharashtra and collect their suggestions and feedback.

Demand for change in basic salary and allowances

• Pay Commission is considering not only basic salary but also TA, HRA and other facilities. Employees believe that improvement in these allowances is necessary.
• Along with this, demand for increase in basic pay has also been made by many employee organizations. In which it has been proposed to increase the minimum salary from Rs 18,000 to approximately Rs 69,000.

Demand to increase fitment factor

Under the 8th Pay Commission, the drafting committee of the Joint Forum of Employees Organizations (NC-JCM) has demanded to increase the fitment factor. So that there can be a big change in the salary structure.

According to the organization, the fitment factor should be increased to 3.833. If the central government accepts these suggestions, there will be a huge increase in the salaries of the employees.
