Terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed has planned to hold a condolence meeting on Thursday (25 September) in memory of Yusuf Azhar, brother of his founder Masood Azhar. This meeting will be held in Markaj Shaheed Maksudabad of Peshawar and senior commanders and members of the organization will be involved in it. The organization can also use it as a recruitment campaign and will organize it under the name Al-Marabitun for not attracting attention, meaning ‘the protector of the land of Islam’ in Arabic. Along with this, there is a plan to build a memorial.

Yusaf Azhar was among the 10 family members who died in an air strikes on Jaish headquarters Jamia Mosque Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. On Operation Sindoor (April 22), there was a retaliation of India in the terror attack in Pahalgam.

According to a report by NDTV, Masood Azhar in his statement informed that those who died included her elder sister and her husband, a nephew and his wife, a niece and five children from the family. This incident was confirmed by a commander of Jaish in the video that surfaced this month.

Masood Azhar had planned Panama and Uri attacks

Masood Azhar had planned the Panama and Uri attacks, in which 59 Indian soldiers were martyred. He was also involved in Parliament and 26/11 Mumbai attacks. In 2019, the United Nations declared him a ‘global terrorist’. According to sources, the Jaish and other terrorist organizations such as Hizbul Mujahideen, who were targeted in Operation Sindoor, are now transferring to the province of Khyber-Pathunkhwa, Pakistan to create new hideouts.

India has regretted the civilian casualties during Operation Sindoor, but said that its effort was to limit and the 9 terrorist camps which were targeted were directly related to terrorist activities.

A group of friends returning from a picnic in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province ambushed him by unknown gunmen, killing at least seven people and injuring another person. The police gave this information on Sunday (August 17, 2025).

Those involved in the incident were attacked in the suburban area of Kohat district, about 65 km southwest of Peshawar on Saturday (August 16, 2025). Police said that they were returning to their native village Khara Ghari Muhammad Oats from Tanda Dam, when the attackers started firing.

There is no evidence of terrorism in preliminary investigation

District Police Officer of Kohat Zahidullah Khan said that investigation is being done. He said that no evidence of terrorism has been found in preliminary investigation. He told the media, ‘The incident took place around 12:45 pm. Some family disputes are being investigated, but it is too early to draw any conclusions, ‘

With the help of police troops, rescue officials took the dead bodies and the injured to Kohat district headquarters hospital. The injured person was later referred to a hospital in Peshawar for special treatment. The police confirmed that they were all friends.

Attacking absconding from the spot

At the same time, the family members of the deceased say that they had no enmity with anyone. Officials said that the attackers escaped from the spot, while the campaign has been started to search for them. Jeber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General (IG) Zulfikar Hameed directed the police to arrest the culprits without delay.
