Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on May 23: Today, on Saturday, May 23, oil companies have again increased the prices of petrol and diesel. This is the third time in the month of May that fuel prices have been increased. Since May 15, government oil marketing companies have gradually started passing on the impact of the increase in global energy prices to customers due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East.

After this third increase in fuel prices within 10 days, petrol has become costlier by 87 paise per liter, while the price of diesel has been increased by another 91 paise. After this latest change, the price of petrol in Delhi has now become Rs 99.51 per liter, whereas it was available at Rs 92.49 per liter.

How much has the price been increased so far?

Due to the war between America and Iran and tension in the Middle East, Brent crude oil has crossed the level of $ 104 per barrel in the global markets. Under its pressure, oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the prices of petrol and diesel thrice this month by about Rs 4.80 to Rs 5.00 per litre. This means that within just 10 days the prices have been increased again. This is no less than a shock for the general public of the country.

15 May 2026- For the first time, a direct increase of Rs 3 was made.

19 May 2026- For the second time the price was increased by about 90 paise per liter.

23 May 2026- Today again for the third time there was an increase of about 90 paise.
