PF Transfer Process: Almost all working people in the country have PF accounts. A fixed amount is deposited in the PM account every month. Earlier, after changing jobs and joining another job, there used to be a long race for PF transfer. As soon as people left the old company and joined a new one, people had to fill a form to transfer the money from their old PF account to the new account.

It was common to submit this form, wait for approval and then remain worried for weeks until the transfer was made. Now this problem has been removed. In the new system, no form is required for PF transfer. The entire process runs online and the system itself identifies your old and new PF account and sets up the transfer. Let us tell you the process.

PF transfer process made easier

Earlier, after leaving the job, Form 13 had to be filled to transfer the money from the old PF account to the new account. This was the reason why PF transfer became the most tedious task for many people. Now this process has become simple. As soon as you join the new company and keep the same UAN. The system itself tracks both your PF accounts.

Also read: Planning to buy instant geyser, note down small but valuable things

On the EPFO portal you just have to choose which account you want to keep active. The remaining money is automatically merged from the old account to the new one. No worries about the company, no worries about forms. The entire process is completed in a few clicks. With this, the delay and hassle of PF transfer while changing jobs has almost ended.

How to merge PF accounts

If you have left one job and joined another. And now two PF accounts have been created in your name. So merging them is now quite easy. First of all, login with your UAN on EPFO website or mobile app. As soon as you login, you will see the option of Transfer Request in the Service section. Here the system itself recognizes that you have more than one PF account.

Also read: To take the wedding procession, you have to book the entire compartment of the train, know the rules.

Now you just have to select the old account from which money is to be transferred and select the new account as the main account. After this your Aadhaar, PAN and bank details are automatically verified. As soon as confirmed, the request is submitted and within a few days the old balance gets merged into the new account. The entire process is completed without any form and without visiting any office.

Nowadays, problems in the job world have increased a lot. Sometimes the company gets closed, sometimes the job is lost, and sometimes due to some reason we ourselves have to leave the job. In such a situation, the biggest fear is that what will happen to our PF now, will the money we have deducted from our salary for years? Will it all sink? If you also have such questions in your mind, then let us tell you today that if you have lost your job or you have left it yourself, then what will be the condition of your PF account and the money deposited in it?

Does the money deposited in PF account sink?

Even if you have lost your job and now no new deposit is being made in your EPF account every month, you do not need to panic. Your money remains completely safe. The rule of EPF Organization (EPFO) is that even if contribution is not received in an account for some time, the deposited amount still remains there, neither it disappears nor disappears. Even when you leave the job and no new contributions come in, interest continues to be earned on your old balance for the first three years.

When does PF account become active?

If there is no new contribution in the account for 3 consecutive years, then EPFO considers that account as active. This means that now you will not get interest on it, but your principal amount and all the interest till now remains safe. You can withdraw the amount whenever you want. Also, according to the rules of EPF, if you have been unemployed for more than two months, then you are entitled to withdraw money from your account. If you want, you can withdraw some part or even withdraw the entire amount.

Always keep KYC and Aadhaar updated

Many times people do not update KYC in their old account, due to which it becomes difficult to withdraw money later. Therefore, always keep your Aadhaar number, bank account, PAN card and mobile number updated in your EPF account. If you have multiple PF accounts, merge them into one. You can do this work easily from EPFO website or Umang app. This will not only make it easier to keep an eye on interest and balance, but there will also be no problem in making any claims in future.
