Unclaimed Money India: Money of lakhs of people is lying unclaimed across the country. Now an initiative is underway to send them to their rightful owner. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on social media that under Your Money, Your Right, Rs 2,000 thousand crore has so far been delivered to its rightful owners.

This initiative was started in October 2025. PM Modi said that, this opportunity is a chance to regain our forgotten property. He has appealed to the people to become a part of the Your Money, Your Right movement.

Information about unclaimed money will be available on these portals

The government has prepared different portals to recover unclaimed property. With the help of which you can easily get information about your forgotten money. Different portals have been created for different types of unclaimed amounts.

You can get information about unclaimed money lying in the bank from RBI’s UDGAM portal. At the same time, IRDAI’s Bima Bharosa portal has been prepared for unclaimed money related to insurance policies, SEBI’s MITRA portal has been prepared for unclaimed amount in mutual funds and Corporate Ministry’s IEPFA portal has been prepared for claiming dividends and unclaimed shares.

With the help of these portals, people can easily know where your money is stuck and can claim it. Talking about the figures, about Rs 78,000 crore is lying unclaimed in Indian banks. Apart from this, insurance companies also have unclaimed amount of about Rs 14,000 crore.

Facilitation camp organized

PM Modi said that, to make this movement successful, convenience camps have been set up in 477 districts. These convenience camps have been organized across the country in rural as well as urban areas. These camps have been specially set up in remote areas, so that it can be accessible to every citizen.

Also, more and more people should get benefit from it. The PM has appealed to the public that they should get information about their family or themselves unclaimed money or investments.

GST reforms: The government is going to take big steps towards simplifying the GST system. It was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15 in his speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day. PM Modi said that major changes will be made in the GST structure so that the tax system can be easier for the common people and traders.

Currently, four GST rates are applicable in the country – 5 percent, 12 percent, 18 percent and 28 percent. According to the news agency PTI, the government is preparing to abolish the slab of 12 percent and 28 percent of these. For this, the Group of Finance Ministers of the states has been given a blueprint of the scheme and a final decision can be taken on this in the meeting of the GST Council to be held in September. Before that the Group of Ministers will study this proposal.

What will change?

At present there is no GST on essential items. 5% GST on everyday goods like soap, toothpaste etc., 12% on normal items, 18% on electronic gadgets and services and 28% GST on luxury and harmful items.

According to the new proposal:

12% slab will be eliminated and the items under it will be brought to 5% GST.

28% slab will be eliminated and most of its items will be brought to 18%.

What will be cheap?

Objects that become cheaper after entering 5% GST:
Hair oil, toothpaste, soap, tooth powder, processed food, frozen vegetables, condensed milk, snacks, computers, mobile, geysers, pressure cooker, vacuum cleaner, water filter, ironing, bicycle, utensils, barbecue, geometry boxes, globes, naps, masks, agricultural machinery, HIV diagnostic coil And Ayurvedic medicines.

Interest by bringing 18% (in the first 28%):
AC, fridge, washing machine, TV, motorcycle seat, car, insurance, plastic products, razers, printers, aluminum foil, sugar syrup, protein concentrates and tamped glasses.

In his address from the Red Fort on the occasion of 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the need to develop indigenous fighter jet engines in India. Describing it as a big step towards self -sufficiency in the defense sector, he said that India would have to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and intensify its efforts in defense construction. The Prime Minister called upon the young scientists, engineers and all government departments of the country that the engine should also be completely indigenous for India’s ‘Made in India’ fighter jets.

PM Modi said that the sweat and soil of the citizens of India strengthen India’s self -sufficiency. He appealed to small traders to install indigenous goods boards at shops and give priority to the products made in the country. He said, “We will use it strongly, not in indigenous compulsion. This should be our mantra.”

Technical self -sufficiency from IT to EV
The Prime Minister said that in today’s IT era, the strength and cyber security of data is very important. He emphasized the need to develop technologies like operating system, cyber security and artificial intelligence in India. Along with this, while talking about the upcoming electric vehicle era, he said that everything required for EV batteries, solar panels and EV infrastructure should be made in India. He believes that the youth of the country can play a leading role in innovation and production in all these areas.

India construction of 24 LCA in a year
Nashik, which was still known for fighter jet assembly like MiG and Sukhoi. He is now going to be a new identity of India’s self -reliant defense production. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has started its third light Combat Aircraft (LCA) production line here. This production line is the first LCA construction facility outside Bangalore, which is a strategic point of great important step. Bengaluru already has two LCA production lines, whose joint annual capacity is 16 aircraft. Now with an additional 8 annual aircraft capacity of Nashik, India will be able to build a total of 24 LCA a year.
