PM Modi News: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is often on foreign tours. At present also PM Modi is on a tour of three countries. At present he has reached New Zealand on the last leg of this journey. PM Modi often buys many things during his foreign trips, but have you ever wondered how the PM makes payments abroad? You wouldn’t have thought, right? Neither would you know? So let us tell you.

How does PM Modi make payments?
When PM Modi was on his visit to Singapore in 2018, he had purchased a Madhubani painting from there. He had used RuPay card while purchasing this painting. So in August 2019, during an official visit to Bhutan, he bought local Bhutanese handicrafts and used RuPay card.

Also read: Ethanol Rice: Rigging in government ration! Ethanol maker FCI sold government rice to private mill

So during their visit to Abu Dhabi in February 2024, PM Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had started linking India’s UPI with the UAE’s ‘AANI’ payment system and RuPay card with the ‘JAYWAN’ card there. During this, both the leaders also saw live transactions taking place by swiping each other’s cards.

Indians promote UPI
The purpose of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to buy these goods abroad and make the payment himself is to show Indian tourists and the world that India’s fintech technologies like UPI and RuPay are now completely safe and accepted at the international level. In such a situation, if Indian people go on a foreign trip then they should use these techniques only and not by exchanging currency.

In which countries does UPI and RuPay work?
Indian UPI and RuPay works in India including countries like France, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Qatar, Oman, South Korea. Although RuPay does not work in some parts of France, it does work in other parts.

Senior Congress leader and spokesperson Pawan Kheda launched a scathing attack on the Modi government and the Election Commission on Wednesday (July 23, 2025). He said that the credibility of democratic institutions in the country is being weakened and the public is now beginning to understand it. He raised many serious questions about the Election Commission, BJP’s internal politics, Prime Minister’s foreign policy and resignation of the Vice President. He also claimed that the chair of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is not safe.

Attacking the organizational status of BJP, he said that the BJP itself is not able to decide its president. He further said, “The BJP’s organization has become leadershipless. There is no face left in the party which can be made unanimously president.” He claimed that the chair of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also not safe and the inner fighting is going on in the party.

Pawan Kheda raised questions on the fairness of the Election Commission

Pawan Kheda alleged that the Election Commission had lost its role of fairness. He said, “When we question the Election Commission, the BJP answers and when we question the BJP, the Election Commission gives the answer.” The Congress leader described it as dangerous for democracy and said that the public is now understanding this game. He satirized and said that now “the fear of fat brother and younger brother is ending.”

Questions on the resignation of Vice President

The Congress leader also questioned the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. He said that this resignation has taken place in a mysterious way and the Vice President should clarify the reason for his resignation in front of the country. He raised the question, “When the monsoon session of Parliament was starting, the resignation of the Vice President raises doubts. Was it a part of a scheme?”

Sarcasm on PM’s foreign policy

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visit, Kheda alleged, “PM is afraid of China and America. They avoid difficult questions and try to divert attention from domestic issues through foreign tours.”

Also read-

Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhhi has launched a scathing attack on the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and the foreign tour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He described it as a mockery of democratic traditions and questioned whether the Prime Minister’s foreign visits have now become important from the Parliament session?

Imran Pratapgadhi wrote in a post on X, “Earlier the Parliament session started, then the Prime Minister used to return to India after finishing the tour of the world to take ‘part’, now the Parliament session starts, then the Prime Minister goes out on a foreign tour to take ‘Bhag’. The Vice President resigned from the post on the first day of the session, what will the Prime Minister leave and leave the session.

PM Modi is on a tour of two countries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on an official visit to two countries, while Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar suddenly resigned from his post on Monday (July 21, 2025). He submitted his resignation to the President citing health reasons, which was also accepted with immediate effect.

Opposition raised questions on the timing of the resignation of the Vice President

The sudden resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has created a stir in political circles. The opposition has raised serious questions on the timing of this decision. Many parties including Congress, SP and TMC have asked how the post of Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman was vacant when the government’s accountability was to be fixed in Parliament. Opposition leaders say that this step is against parliamentary dignities and it can harm democracy. The opposition has also sought an answer from the government on the transparency of this decision.
