PM modi saudi arab visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Jeddah on a two -day historic visit on Tuesday (April 22) on the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia. At least six important agreements (MUS) are expected to be signed during this visit.

As soon as Prime Minister Modi’s aircraft reached Saudi aircraft, he was specialized by the F-15 fighter jets of the Royal Saudi Air Force. This reception is considered to be a symbol of the growing proximity in India-Saudi relations. He was welcomed in Jeddah with a grand state honor.

New direction to India-Saudi strategic participation
Prime Minister Modi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will co-chair the second meeting of the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this meeting is going to add a new chapter to bilateral relationships. Prime Minister Modi had said before leaving that India gives immense importance to its long -term and historical relations with Saudi Arabia. Partnership in areas such as defense, trade, energy and people has got new pace.

Haj pilgrimage and quota will also be discussed
According to sources, in this visit of Prime Minister Modi, the quota and other arrangements of Haj pilgrims will also be discussed. India’s Ambassador Suhail Ejaz Khan said that Haj is a very important religious journey. The Government of India gives it a special priority. The coordination between the Saudi government and India has been very good. This meeting can also prove to be very decisive on important issues like modern arrangements, digital facilities, and quota expansion.

Focus on India-Saudi Trade and Investment
In recent years, many issues have been discussed between India and Saudi Arabia. This includes energy security, defense cooperation, marine security, investment and infrastructure projects in the Gulf. During this visit by Prime Minister Modi, there is a possibility of compromise on partnership in the fields of technology, innovation, green energy and startups.

Prime Minister Modi visited Saudi Arabia in 2016 and 2019 too –

Prime Minister Modi visited Saudi Arabia for the first time in April 2016. He met Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh. He addressed the Indian migrant community on this tour. Prime Minister Modi also went after this in October 2019. During this time he took part in the Future Investment Initiative Summit. On this tour, the issue of terrorism was discussed along with trade and investment.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that defense relations between India and Saudi Arabia are expected to further strengthen, including more military exercises and setting up a structure for high-level meetings.
