International reactions have intensified regarding the alleged Ukrainian drone attack on the official residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strongly condemned this incident, calling it a serious threat to peace, security and stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said, ‘Pakistan condemns the reports of targeting of the residence of Russian President His Excellency Vladimir Putin. This is a heinous act, which undermines peace efforts at a time when efforts to establish peace are underway. He said that Pakistan expresses solidarity with the Russian government and its people and completely rejects all forms of violence.

Russia claims – 91 drones attacked
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday (29 December 2025) that Ukraine tried to attack President Putin’s official residence located in the Novgorod region with 91 long-range drones on the night of 28-29 December. According to Lavrov, the Russian air defense system shot down all the drones. Lavrov warned about this attack that ‘such careless actions will definitely be answered.’ He said that the Russian armed forces have already set targets for retaliation.

Peace talks will be affected
The Russian Foreign Minister said that this attack has happened at a time when peace talks are going on regarding Ukraine. He clarified that Russia will not back down from talks, but its negotiation strategy will be reviewed.

Ukraine called the allegations false
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected Russia’s allegations and said that this is a complete lie. He alleged that Moscow is creating an environment for attacks on government buildings in Kiev. Russia has not yet presented any evidence in support of these allegations. It is also not clear whether President Putin was present in that residence at the time of the attack or not.

Conversation between Putin and Trump
According to the Kremlin, President Putin spoke on phone with US President Donald Trump on Monday. During this, Putin said that after the alleged drone attack, Russia will review its stance regarding peace talks. Kremlin’s foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov said that Trump informed Putin about the ongoing talks between America and Ukraine. According to Ushakov, the American side has put pressure on Ukraine to take concrete steps towards a permanent solution to the conflict instead of demanding only a temporary ceasefire. Russia has expressed apprehension that Kiev may interpret the proposals put forward by Ukraine to the US broadly in its favor.

Kashmir pahalgam terror attack: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday (April 26) that Pakistan is ready to participate in any “fair and transparent” investigation of killing 26 people in Pahalgam in Kashmir. He said that Pakistan condemns all kinds of terrorism and has also been a victim of terrorism itself.

On April 22, the terrorists fired indiscriminately in the Basaron Valley in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Most tourists were killed in this attack. At least 26 people lost their lives in the attack and many people were injured.

‘Ready to participate in reliable investigation’

The Pakistani PM said, while continuing its role as a responsible country, Pakistan is ready to participate in any fair, transparent and reliable investigation.

During this time, Shahbaz Sharif once again chased the melody of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “I have to underline the importance of Kashmir, as the founder of the nation, Quaid-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, rightly said, Kashmir is the neck of the neck of Pakistan.”

The Prime Minister said, Pakistan has always condemned all forms and expressions of terrorism. Describing Pakistan as the leading country of the world against terrorism, he said, “We suffered heavy losses, which led to 90,000 people casualties and financial loss of more than $ 600 billion.”

Tension between India and Pakistan at its peak

After the Pahalgam attack, tension between India and Pakistan has reached its peak. New Delhi has taken many strict diplomatic and strategic steps against Islamabad.
