Regarding this, the Central Government has made it clear that there is no shortage of LPG in the country and people do not need to panic and book cylinders. According to officials of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, in recent times the booking of LPG has increased to about 75.7 lakh per day, whereas earlier the average booking was about 55.7 lakh. Officials say that this increase is not due to actual shortage but due to fear among the people.

Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Petroleum Ministry, said that about 25,000 LPG distributors across the country have sufficient stock and there is no report of any dealer running out of gas. Instead of panicking, he has appealed to the people to adopt piped natural gas i.e. PNG gas connection. So that the pressure on LPG supply can be reduced. Can PNG and LPG connection be available in the same name?
