Insurgency continued for the 36th day today (July 14) in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). Just 24 hours before the march in Muzaffarabad, Pakistani Rangers opened fire on protesters in PoK in Sudhnoti and Rawalakot, killing 8 people and injuring 11. On the other hand, once again the protesters testified against Pakistan’s occupation of Idgah ground in Rawalakot.

Sardar Aman Khan, one of the organizers of the protest, said from the stage in front of thousands of people, ‘According to the UN Charter, PoK is a ‘disputed area’, but in reality PoK is a ‘occupied area’, that is, it is occupied. This speech of Aman Khan ruined the 78 year old narrative of Pakistan. In which Pakistan used to explain to the people in its country and to the Kashmiris that POK is actually Azad Kashmir and India’s Jammu and Kashmir is ‘Maqbooja’ (occupied) Kashmir.

Addressing the crowd of 70 thousand in which most of the women were, Aman Khan said, ‘Only the people of PoK have the right to decide the future of PoK. Also, on the issue of love for Pakistan being taught in schools in PoK for 8 decades, Aman Khan told the children that whatever is taught in the schools of PoK is wrong, except that in the hilly areas it is more hot in summer and more cold in winter.

‘This war will not stop before victory’

Before the battle of Aar Paar, today (July 14), the process of gathering of people from the Poonch division of PoK has started in Rawalakot. Also, on the Muzaffarabad march yesterday (July 15), Aman Khan said that now this war will not stop before victory. On the elections in PoK to be held on July 27, Aman Khan said, ‘Many people are standing behind the office of Brigadier Faik (ISI Sector Commander PoK) with files in their hands in PoK, but ISI does not want to conduct the elections, the elections will be conducted by the people. Those who know will vote and only that government will be accepted which they know will vote.

Gave warning to Pak government

Aman Khan warned Pakistan’s puppet government in PoK and said, ‘Now on July 15, we will move towards Muzaffarabad with only one demand and that demand is to give the responsibility of PoK to the people of PoK.’ That is, in this gesture, Aman Khan is once again reiterating the issue of independence of PoK. Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir is also seeing the same dream today, but the situation has become such that now, leave alone Jammu and Kashmir, even Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) seems to be slipping from his hands. For the last 29 days, thousands of people have been protesting against the Pakistan government and army on the streets of PoK.

From women to the elderly and children, everyone has come out openly against the policies of Pakistan. The agitators have given a final warning to the Pakistan government and given a deadline of 8th July. The question is, what happened in PoK that people became ready to fight an all-out war against Pakistan? Every day, voices are being raised against the Pakistan Army in PoK with slogans like ‘This is terrorism… there is uniform behind it’.

What is the allegation of the protesters?

The protesters allege that the army is trying to suppress their voice through repression, firing and arrests. But this time the situation is different. Thousands of people are standing on the streets from Rawalakot to Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Dadiyal. The women say that they are not going to back down now and even if they have to be shot or go to jail, they will continue to take up their rights.

More than ten thousand women are sitting on strike at Rawalkot bus stand since June 11. Small children are also present with them. The agitators allege that since June 14, the Pakistan government has stopped the supply of food items, medicines and essential commodities. Dozens of trucks are parked on the border, but they are not being allowed to enter POK. Despite this, the protesters are not ready to step back. They say that they will remain hungry, but will not bow down to Pakistan.

During the protest, the women compared Asim Munir with Yazid, the most controversial ruler in Islamic history, and said that if Pakistan commits atrocities like Yazid, they will fight like Hussain. They say that they may be put in jail or shot, but they will not give up the fight for their rights. These slogans and speeches have made it clear that now the movement is no longer limited to economic demands only, but has transformed into widespread dissatisfaction against the rule of Pakistan.

Pak Army used its strength to stop the movement

The Pakistani Army has used its full force to suppress this movement. House-to-house raids were conducted, hundreds of people were arrested, cases were registered against leaders under anti-terrorism laws and internet services were also shut down. But after every action the movement became stronger. The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), which is leading the movement, has given a clear ultimatum to the Pakistan government that if their demands are not met by July 8, the movement will become more widespread.

The protesters have a total of 38 demands. These include demands for the release of arrested leaders along with basic facilities like electricity, water, education, health and withdrawal of registered cases. But the biggest controversy is regarding those 12 assembly seats which are reserved in the name of refugees from Jammu and Kashmir. The agitators allege that the Pakistan government sends its supporters to the Assembly through these seats and controls the politics of the entire PoK. This is the reason why the government does not want to change this system at any cost.

Protestors blocked the roads

During the demonstration in Dadiyal on 4 July, Pakistani Rangers allegedly opened fire on the protesters. One person died in this incident while many people were injured. There was a clash between protesters and police in Muzaffarabad also, in which many people were injured. The protesters blocked roads and burnt tires to protest, while security forces resorted to lathicharge.

The figures related to the movement are also a matter of concern for Pakistan. So far 59 people are being claimed dead. 576 people have been arrested. Cases have been registered against about 150 leaders under anti-terrorism laws. Internet services have been closed since June 5 and supply of food items and medicines has also been stopped in many areas. Despite this, the demonstration continues.

Movement leader Sardar Aman Khan said in an open meeting that if the Pakistan government does not accept their demands, they will march towards the Line of Control (LoC). In the presence of thousands of people at the Idgah ground in Rawalkot, he said that now the public will decide what will be the way forward. This statement has further increased the concern of Pakistan government and army.

Protest against Pakistan in London also

The issue of PoK has now started resonating at the international level also. Thousands of people took out a march outside the Pakistan High Commission in London and demonstrated against Pakistan. Along with Kashmiri migrants, people from Pashtun and Baloch communities also participated in it. The protesters accused Pakistan of human rights violations and showed solidarity with the people of PoK.

Eyes fixed on the deadline of July 8

Now everyone’s eyes are fixed on the deadline of July 8. If the Pakistan government does not accept the demands of the protesters, the protests in PoK may intensify. Pakistan, which had accused India in front of the world on the issue of Kashmir for decades, today people in its occupied Kashmir are openly raising their voice against it. This is the reason why this movement of PoK is becoming the biggest political and security challenge for the Pakistan government and Asim Munir.

Pakistan has once again taken strict action to suppress protests in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). Top leader of Awami Action Committee from Dhirkot, Shaukat Nawaz Mir, has been arrested on charges of terrorism and treason. According to the information, Shaukat Nawaz Mir was hiding in a house in Dhirkot for the last three weeks and was allegedly conducting the movement from there. It is being told that in the evening Pakistani Rangers and POK Police reached that house through the forest. During the action, the security forces first fired several rounds in the air and then arrested Shaukat Nawaz Mir.

Search for other leaders intensified

After the arrest of Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Pakistan’s security agencies have also intensified the search for other leaders associated with the movement. In the same sequence, late night police and Rangers conducted a search operation at the house of Sardar Omar Nazir, one of the main organizers of the movement in Rawalakot.

Major action was taken earlier also

This is not the first time that Pakistan has shown strictness against the protesters. Many actions have already been taken by Pakistan to stop the agitation that has been going on for the last 22 days. In one day, about 150 people were allegedly declared terrorists by the PoK government. About two weeks ago, cases of treason and terrorism were registered against four prominent leaders of the movement, Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Sardar Umar Nazir, Sardar Aman Khan and Khawaja Mehran. A reward of Rs 1 crore was also announced on the arrest of these four leaders.

Big demonstration continues on 22nd day

Despite these actions, the protests in PoK have not stopped. On the 22nd day of the movement, more than 60 thousand protesters are said to be present at the Idgah ground in Rawalakot. Despite internet services being closed, rallies are being taken out against the Pakistan government in many areas of PoK.

Discussion of preparations for Muzaffarabad march

After the arrest of Shaukat Nawaz Mir, it is believed that the Awami Action Committee may announce the Muzaffarabad march in the coming days. At present, the security agencies of Pakistan are trying to control the movement, while the protesters are continuing their protest.

Pakistan Army is continuously oppressing the people in PoK on the instructions of Asim Munir and Shahbaz Sharif. Pakistani Army dropped bombs from drones at the protest site in Rawalkot of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Awami Action Committee released the video and said that between 12 and 1 am on the night of June 28, four RDX-like bombs were dropped using drones at the protest site. Awami Committee said that timers were installed and a large number of people were present at the protest site at that time.

Internet has been closed in the entire PoK since June 5 and using this internet ban, the Pakistani Army first opened fire on the protesters, in which 58 protesters were killed. Then for the last 2 weeks, food supply was stopped in the entire PoK and when even after this Janata did not end the rebellion, Pakistan’s inhuman army took the action of dropping bombs from drones.

Munir’s army rained bombs in PoK

Jammu and Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee said, ‘The people of PoK are not afraid of such steps. Whatever the circumstances, we will continue the peaceful struggle for our rights.

The issue of excesses by Pakistani security forces in PoK is now being raised across the world. Regarding this, a protest was held outside the British Parliament in London last week and later a march was taken out to 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the Prime Minister. During the demonstration, the organizers had demanded the British government to raise this issue at the international level and take immediate steps to ensure humanitarian aid in the affected areas.

To cut off POK from the whole of Pakistan, the Pakistani government has taken another new step. Addressing thousands of protesters at Idgah Maidan, Awami Action Committee member Sardar Liaqat Hayat warned the Pakistani government and the puppet government of POK and said that the protesters have given a message to Islamabad and the puppets of POK that the people will win this fight.

Why are demonstrations taking place in PoK?

Public dissatisfaction with inflation, lack of political rights and governance in PoK is continuously increasing. There is deep resentment among the people against the increasing interference of Islamabad in this region and this dissatisfaction now seems to be taking the form of a big mass movement.

Violent clashes between protesters and security forces this month have exposed the long-growing public anger in the area. Several people were killed in the crackdown by Pakistani security forces on protesters demanding governance reforms, leading to a political crisis in Islamabad and criticism at the international level.

Public anger erupted over the shooting

Sardar Aman Khan, one of the main organizers of the movement, while addressing the protesters after the firing, talked about taking the struggle to a decisive stage and warned that the movement will not be stopped at any cost and if the protesters are attacked now, not a single attacker should step back. The people of inflation-stricken PoK are on the streets since Tuesday demanding cheap flour, rice, electricity and 12 uninhabited seats and every day the Pakistani army is firing on common unarmed people.
