There is great news for lakhs of youth preparing for Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment. The UP government has decided to completely eliminate negative marking from the Police Constable, Head Constable and Jail Warder recruitment examination. This decision has received the approval of the state cabinet. Now marks will not be deducted for giving wrong answers in the written examination, so that candidates will be able to solve questions without any fear.

What was the rule earlier?

Earlier the rule of negative marking was applicable in the UP Police Recruitment Examination. According to the old pattern, the candidate got 2 marks for every correct answer, while 0.5 marks were deducted for every wrong answer. For this reason, the candidates had to solve the questions very thoughtfully. Many times, even after knowing the answer to the question, students would leave it due to the fear that if the answer was wrong, their marks would be deducted. Especially in subjects like General Knowledge and Current Affairs, this fear was seen even more.

What are the new rules?

Now a big change has been made in the rules of UP Police Recruitment Examination. According to the new system, no marks will be deducted for wrong answers of the candidates. This means that now you will get marks in the exam only by giving correct answers and giving wrong answers will not have any negative impact on the score. After this change, candidates will be able to answer all the questions without any fear. This amendment has been made under the Uttar Pradesh Police and Jail Service Rules 2025, which has been approved by the state government. Now the candidates are waiting for the official notification to be issued by the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), in which complete information related to the examination will be given clearly.

What will be the benefit to the candidates?

• Fear will end, confidence will increase- Now there will be no fear of giving wrong answer. With this, candidates will be able to solve questions with more confidence during the examination.
• Time management will be better- Earlier candidates used to spend a lot of time thinking whether to ask the question or leave it. Now they can solve the questions directly, which will save time.
• Opportunity to solve more questions- Now students will be able to attempt maximum questions. This will also increase the chances of good score.
• Relief in General Knowledge and Current Affairs- Many times the answer in these subjects is not completely certain. Now candidates will be able to answer on the basis of guess also, because there will be no loss if it is wrong.

A total of 147 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. Recruitment is being done for Police, Fire Service and Jail Department, in which different posts have been earmarked.

Police recruitment 2025: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that the state government will soon fill more than 12,000 vacant posts in the police department. Majhi made the announcement on Wednesday after returning from Delhi, where he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and hosted the two -day investor conference.

20 new cyber police stations will be built

The Chief Minister said that the meeting with Shah was discussed in the state to implement the Indian Justice Code (BNS), Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS) and Indian Evidence Act (BNA) in the state. He also said that there was a discussion about the increasing cases of cyber crime in the meeting. He told Shah that to deal with this danger, 20 new cyber police stations will be set up in the state and the post of Crime Scene Officer will be created in all the police stations.

How much will be recruited in which department?

Majhi said that the Home Minister has assured the state government to give all possible support to maintain law and order. He informed that the state government will soon fill 12,000 vacant posts in the Home Department, which will help in maintaining law and order in the state. According to the Chief Minister, 3,003 of these posts will be filled in Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF), 3,000 posts in Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), 2,000 traffic personnel, 5,000 home guards, 267 in the Directorate of Public Prosecution and 254 posts will be filled in State Forensic Sciences Department.

95 thousand people likely to get employment

This announcement has been made at a time when the opposition is attacking the government over the increasing crime against women after the BJP came to power in Odisha in June last year. It is alleged that the law and order situation in the state is continuously deteriorating. At the investor conference held in Delhi, the state government signed 13 consent letters and received 15 investment proposals of Rs 1.03 lakh crore, which is likely to provide employment to more than 95,000 people.
